Hmm...well some say "contralto", and others say "mezzo-soprano". Joyce has a wide vocal range and it's really difficult to exactly and precisely classify someone anyway. So yes, you're right- she can be called a "mezzo-soprano". :)
I know, she sounds like a soprano sometimes, ans she does sing soprano roles. Though I think it's better to call her as she wants to be called, and she says she's a mezzo-soprano :) But she definitely has a impressive vocal range!
Oh...she enjoys being called a "mezzo-soprano"? Oh, then I must change that in my description to fit what she likes!! Haha. I love Joyce and she's truly awesome. :) Thanks ;-)
It's not really that she enjoys it, it's her professional status :D She calls herself "mezzo-soprano", I think because she knows that she could sing some soprano roles, but she doesn't want to because she feels more comfortable with a mezzo-soprano range. She has a pretty good idea of what she can do and what she can't do.
I'm a big fan too, she's simply amazing in everything she does. And she's such a lovely person :)
Haha, my channel speaks for myself :) I'm trying to upload most of the things she did/sang, because she's such an amazing singer, and a fantastic actress to boot.
And yeah, I love her voice too! Her American accent is really nice (I love American accents, don't ask why). In a word, she's great :D
American accent. Ha! That just sounds really funny to me, because I have a Canadian accent, and you know...Canadian accent = American accent...more or less. ;))
the full hope to be close from beloved and at same time you've to leave that create confusing that what melodies about and what it carry, and Joyce DiDonato she in the middle of that tragedy, she astonish me and more i hear her voice the more I realize that she out of question.
thank you Kitty you just add to me more admiration that more than I was having for you
Awesome aria!! :)

I must admit I have no idea of how a Canadian accent would be ^^ But I'm going to Toronto in March, so I'll soon find out :D
