This is a very interesting performance. Some of de Pachmann's Chopin playing had become quite "mannered" by this stage of his career. But his playing of this work is quite sober and straightforward. If this performance is an indication (and I think it is), de Pachmann has not been well served by the history books. He was a fine artist.
i find the lyrical parts a bit too fast here..but i do like the chordal parts, although the triplets are not always clean. nevertheless it is always interesting to hear these historical recordings. thanks for uploading
