Does that man call himself a doctor? Honey jars carry warnings against feeding infants under 6 months (or so) honey because it contains C. botulinum spores. Infant botulism is not the same thing as borne botulism . Infant botulism results from spores germinating in the infant while food borne botulism is caused by toxins already present in the food.

I gave my child honey at 10 months and 1 year old with mashed banana or with some warm milk when she has the flu and she loevs it, makes her smile after she eats mashed banana with honey or drinks warm milk with honey. She has not got botulisim.
