  • have more pride when swinging your sword, slash like you mean it

  • So you took steel, and proceeded to "TEST" it on wood... and not only wood but the softest wood there is....... *Facepalm*. get yourself a steel drum and test your swords the real way....

  • all i keep thinking when watching this video is blinkin from men in tights. lol

  • i wanna be paid to do this shit!

  • mmm.(i dont speak good english) but. the katana is better or is better this sword?????

  • Neither. Both have good and bad points.

  • @herkulest62 Katana is better at cutting, mostly because of the two handed handle permits faster stroke and longer blade. This is better at stabbing (through chain mail), because lighter weight, sharper point, and with one hand, you hold your body further from the opponent, AND you could use a shield. A Katana-man would try to take this guy's hand off at the wrist. This sword would try to move his wrist randomly to make the Katana man miss, then stab. Double edge, this sword can also back slash

  • @DonMeaker true but katanas have a fairly thick blade and are poor at piercing armour, a great slashing and stabbing sword on leather/unarmoured though

  • @DonMeaker Wrong, mostly.

A katana is better at cutting because of the curvatory of the blade. But it would bend and break if it hits stronger armour. Also, the classic longsword is also handled with two hands. but it's more flexible and can withstand more blows to it's side. It's also not a thrusting weapon mainly, but a slashing and hacking as well.

  • @ExtremeDeathman This sword doesn't have room for a second hand on the hilt, through one could grip forward of the hilt, so this sword can not be handled normally with two hands. this type sword had a point suitable for stabbing through chain mail, common in early14th century. With only one hand on sword you get a shield, buckler, or even a 'main gauche' dagger. Mushashi taught use of katana with one hand.

  • @DonMeaker

ah, ok your talking about this sword. Well this kind of sword was used mainly in the 13th and 14th century, but at this time chain mail wasn't used by knights anymore. Instead full plated armour was worn.

A main gauche was invented in the 15th century, as the longsword in civil life was more and more substituted by the rapier, a sharper and pointier sword.

The Musashi school is called "Niten-Ichi-ryu".

  • @ExtremeDeathman Last time I went through the Higgins Museum, the 13th and 14th century was a time when chain mail was supplemented by plate. Full plate didn't come in until later. Japanese swords were largely an anachronism in the time of Mushashi with battle being decided by firearms."Ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a good blaster."

  • what a fucking idiot you are

  • thing about pine is that the top cut...overhand cut will always look better than it is cuz the way the wood splits....but the side cuts were pretty good....if that plank were sunk in cement...no doubt woulda chopped in half.

  • ahahaha i love the end of this.

twat the fuck out of the pine untill it falls off the base.

    epic.

  • It's kind of scary to think what a skilled knight could do with a sharp sword.

  • do you pay for these swords with your own money? or is it your job to review them?

    great vid btw 5/5 :]

  • si y couperait dans l'autre sens dans le bois... pas sur qui va avoir le même résultat. Là il a le file du bois qui l'aide pour faire des éclats de bois!!! eheheheh...

  • 5-5 stars

  • shut the fuck up! like being controlled? :) 3

  • this sword is a stabbing sword, not a hacking sword

  • Well, technically it is a Type XIV, optimized for thrusting into chain armour, but also fine for cutting lightly armoured opponents.

  • yea i guess, still not hacking, cool sword though

  • No, not a specialized cutter. But it can do it, and do it quite well...

  • if its not a cutting sword.. then why do they sharpen the whole blade in medieval times

  • in case

  • theyre all round swords, good for stabbing and hacking.. and i say hacking lol because most broadswords/european swords did not have as sharp an edge due as the katana due to different forging methods.. most ppl died becuase of blunt trauma or crushed bones

  • rubeniscool, you know so little... please shut up.

  • knights were on horse back and when the first charge was made they eauiped their swords and its kinda hard to stab people on the ground

  • nice sword

  • lol you dont have very good aim, no offence

  • Well, I could have been trying to do that..! (UMM, but yeah - I wasn't... hehe).

  • @SwordBuyersGuide I kinda think u have pretty good aiming, the think is, you where ramdonly doing hits lol, you wheren't actually trying to do anything expessific.
