  • definitely this ain't the most ethusiastic performance of sanitarium, but they still metal up mothrfuckers asses!!!!

  • At least we still have SLAYER!!!

  • This is my favorite Metallica song. Why does it sound like shit? With all the modern amps, guitars, mixers, & effects, they haven't been able to re-create the 89' live shit, binge, & purge performance. MOTHERFUCKER!!!!! I "was" a huge Metallica fan. Not anymore. They have destroyed the very thing that made them!!!!

  • my opinion, the best performance of this song, was 89 live shit binge and purge!

  • My favorite song with fade to black.

They are the best in the world for making very sad and beautiful song.

  • 3:35 good old james

  • I think this isnt on the Big four DVD?!

  • James is a fucking God

  • 2 justin bieber fans disliked this vid cause of the like to dislike ratio on his songs (but the secretly loved this)

  • admit it you chanted HEY! watching this vid

  • Damn this version is hard to play on drums!

  • LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!!

  • I think i had a mini-orgasm when james told the audience to "sing it" around 2:11

    and im a guy 0.o

  • @jhheadbanger7 since when do guys not have orgasms?

  • James i want to raape you! My favorite song! a MASTER PIECE! <3<3

  • Who needs a pick when ur finger pluckin Rob!

  • I can hear roberto's! bass!!!

  • uno de los mejores conciertos que he visto, el mejor fue en chile

  • Kirk Hammet came 82', Slash came 85'.... Kirk is waaaaaay more talented and better player.

  • @CROGrof Man There Is No Way To Compare Between Kirk Ans Slaaash Open Your Fucking Mind And I'm A Big Fan O 'Tallica But Slash Is A Legend Man =)

  • @avogado1995 Someone said that Slash is better than Kirk and that Slash came first, but that's not true i don't want to arguing i'm one of the biggest Metallica fans :)

  • @CROGrof Yes I Share The Same View Already There Is No Way To Compare Between Them They Are Two Different Schools

  • The best metallica's song!

  • Did you HEAR THAT CROWD!!! God Damn that was intense.

  • 3:36 gives me chills EVERYTIME

    Hail Metallica

    Hait The Big Four

  • at last !! James is not afraid to say "leave me the FUCK alone" instead of just leave me alone

  • leave me the FUCK aloneee!!!!!!

  • mustaine vs hammet?

  • @barobitter Mustaine.

  • Kirks so sloppy

  • all bands of the big 4 should have this setup, not only metallica...

  • @manuelcp6

  • I totally agree friend ... until it seems that others are not good ....

clowning business .... they just want to make money

  • @manuelcp6 What setup ?

  • Comment removed

  • My favourite song by Metallica. :)))

  • is it just me or does that Les Paul look giant on Kirk :P he must be a small dude

  • ok...no bad comments need 2 b made about metallica. if it werent 4 them there wud b no other shit bag artists that there r now. they will always b good and their music will always kick ass.

  • there shouldn't be so much lights for this song

  • @DrunkGuitar yeah it's still metallica, but it's not the same energy, it's not the same voice, it's not the same composition.... they're good! they're just... no longer genius!

  • @Gellwyn It's called aging...can't expect them to sound exactly the same at 45 as they did at 25. Only Lars' slow drumming brings holds them back - James and Kirk still do what they do just fine, and Rob gives them some extra energy.

  • @6693BellRinger I do get aging... but there are other bands that sound even better at 45 than at 25.

  • @Gellwyn Proof of that: Iron maiden still sounds amazing, so does Slayer and Megadeth (Dave's voice aside, they were never great).

But it's like 6693BellRinger said, while the rest of the band ages fine, Lars is losing his touch with age.

  • I can hear robs Bass!!!

  • This is merely a shadow of what they used to be...

  • @Gellwyn Dude, everybody changes someday...who gives a crap...it's still METALLICA, man ;-)

  • 3:22 James! \,,/

  • one guy had his speackers off...

  • R.I.P Cliff

  • I will tell my children i was part of that epic show :D

  • @gemesion You lucky bastard :D Was is that awesome in live? Because I'm gonna see the big 4 at the french Sonisphere this year and I want to know :)

  • @sokay57 This was the greatest show i ve ever been, the sound was more than perfect and it was a bit windy so it was a great atmosphere too! trust me you will never forget this day :D

  • @gemesion Oh boy! I can't wait! :D Thank you for you answer! I'm so excited right now! :D

  • @gemesion Hey man, you were right! It was the greatest show by far I've ever been :D I will never forget it neither!

  • Since 89, this is the best performance of this song.

  • @dzaijn U needed to be in Melbourne November 20th 2010!! Brilliance

  • 5:44 really good shot of jamez

  • thanks for the upload

  • @Rickylareau13 he used one in woodsctock while playing seek and destroy i think

  • really if your a true musician you would hear it. listen pretty hard to lars he is way off. and hitting shit when he did not need to.

  • @TheStrykerboy I'm not a drummer and I can tell he's off all the time. That doesn't matter much, since in the end of every part they come out together and strong anyhow.

  • @Rickylareau13 um....not really....he uses his signature mainly

  • i am a huge metallica fan, and i have this concert, and thought this was the worse peformance i have seen them peform. i have seen them 4 times live, the drums are off, they are trying to play too fast and it is totally off if you r listening. MEGADETH blew them away live, and metallica tried to hard to keep up with megadeth.

  • @TheStrykerboy LMFAO! Way to make it very obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. I'm not even going to bother, just LMFAO! HAHAHA!

  • @TheStrykerboy i'm a huge Megadeth fan and even i can tell this wasn't megadeth or Dave's best performance.

  • gottverdammte scheiße liebe ich metallica halbballaden;:D

  • James right hand is the most precise treasure in metal history!

  • Lars looks like Phil Collins.

  • 5:26 - 5:28 James' face haha

  • Leave The Fuck ALone 3:38

  • Fuck...the double guitars at 5:00 is fucking amazing!!! And his voice is so dead on...THIS captures the essence of EVERY FUCKING METALLICA SHOW!!

  • Metallica tonight!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome performance!

  • GAY

  • @FatCheeseHomie Dude if you enjoy to be a gay it doesnt mean that we r gay u little @$sy cr@p

  • @xFreeVirus i am gay fucking homophobic

  • @FatCheeseHomie

Just because you're GAY it doesn't means that we're gay you faggot!

  • @Metalfreak77 Fucking Homophobic

  • @FatCheeseHomie

again just because you are one....

  • awesome...but i see no pit action....what the fuck

  • @lunchbox0590

there is not enough space for pit hahaha

  • @Stabilo8977

if theres a will, theres a way !

  • damn Kirk Hammett copy SLASH style.... so stylish

  • @MrMetalnotdead Dude kirk hammett came way before slash, idiot

  • @Disposable5 deffintly not way before...slash came out in '85 hammett in 83

  • @kottonmouthkings5 82 or 81 actually remember he was in exodus before metallica

  • @956crazyman19 well i dont count that as him out there cuz his name wasnt gettin out there till he was known as the guy who took mustaines place in metallica

  • @Disposable5 well... just 2 years... but ye.. he came before slash

  • Metallica Rules

  • first metallica things i learnt was the intro to one an the little solo kirk does at the start :P

  • one people, its so stupid and shit, jajaja.

  • Metallica rulz! man!!! no locked doors, no windows barred, no thing to make my brain seem scarred:D

  • Next time: the big 4 SOUTH AMERICA lml !!

  • finally for the long time.....now on big four we can hear "leave me the FUCK alone" from james!!!

  • Metallica is back! This IS METALLICA! Don't give me that "They never left" crap, they left, and now they're back. Even they know they're back, that's why they played basically nothing from load/reload, and I think ONLY frantic ONCE on this entire tour. Man is their next album going to be incredible, James has great vocal control once again, they band is tight, they've spent this tour connecting with their 80's thrash selves, it's going to put Death Magnetic to shame! YEAHHHH!!!

  • @Looneylinens we agree with you man!! :)

  • @Looneylinens

My ass they left. You must be one of those tools.

  • @Scarecrow545 One of those tools? Lmao. You must be one of those tools that thinks just because Metallica makes it, it has to be great. Sorry, even if they love every single thing they've ever done, that doesn't mean I have to. Why weren't they playing all their load/reload and st.anger material? Because most people don't want to hear it. They did leave, when Kirk Hammett wore make up and got piercings, and they had all those faggy photo shoots, and played southern rock. My opinion.

  • @Looneylinens

Nope. There are plenty of things Metallica's done that I don't like. They don't play material from those because they felt the thrashy stuff would go best in the set with the music from Death Magnetic, as they've said themselves. Furthermore, they did play songs from them on the World Magnetic tour, just not as often. What has Kirk's makeup got to do with the music Metallica makes? Oh yeah, nothing. As for why he did it, cocaine and dope do these things to you, haha.

  • @Scarecrow545 So it would make perfect sense then for there to be a country band, that dresses like they're in a thrash band? No it wouldn't. Obviously they changed their look to fit their new style of music, which was good music in it's own right, but didn't fit in with Metallica. I don't care if they want to expand their musical horizons and all that shit, just do it somewhere else, why fuck Metallica? Imagine Garth Brooks putting out a Polka/Metal album. Sure it's good to always change it up

  • @Scarecrow545 ,but his fans obviously will say WTF? And also, cocaine and dope does not make you turn into a prince wannabe with make up and nail polish, don't know what world you live in.

  • @Looneylinens

Oh, believe me, they can. So I ask you once more, relevance? What has Kirk and Lars having makeup on have to do with how good the music is? Because there's some damn fine music throughout the 90s (See: No Leaf Clover).

  • @Scarecrow545 Well when their look went to shit, so did their music, must be some connection. Guess it all relates to their mindset, which clearly wasn't in the same place it had been for their entire career leading up to that point, and which was the entire reason a lot of people loved Metallica, not just for the music, but for the attitude, the look, their presence. Would you listen to and be a huge fan of a band that plays sweet metal, but dress up like girls and suck dick all day off stage?

  • @Looneylinens

Well, one, obviously their mindset was different, as they were doing nothing but experimentation, musically. But who's to say they're music went to shit? As I said, they had some great music throughout the 90s, just not thrash metal.

Yeh, I think we're done here.

  • @Looneylinens

Oh, and furthermore, in addition to what I said, they were a fucking pissload better live during the late 90s than they'll ever be now.

  • @Scarecrow545 Lol, sure you can say they were better live then, when they would only do a Kill/Ride medley, and shorten all their songs that were too hard for them to play. You know, bands have an essence, and some bands stray from that, and it always fails, just so they can fit in and stay relevant. But the bands that stay true, end up becoming much more successful, look at bands like AC/DC, or KISS, or the Rolling Stones, they've sold more records, and are more respected. They didn't sell out.

  • @Looneylinens

Neither did Metallica dude. Im gonna go ahead and assume you're one of those who has no idea what the fuck selling out actually means, as it's so overused these days.

Kill/Ride medley was in 97. I was talking more about Garage tour, 98-00. They didn't shorten anything during that tour.

Lets see. James could sing without sounding like a dying cat then. Lars could actually play his own songs. Kirk didn't butcher his solos, or wah rape them. Yeah, I'd say they were better

  • @Scarecrow545 Well anyways, it's just as stupid for you to defend them during the 90's, and hate on them now, as it is for me to hate on them in the 90's and defend them now. We differ in opinions, let's just leave it at that.

  • @Looneylinens

I hardly hate them now, just think they're vastly inferior than they were in, say, 08. Rock Am Ring 08 had some of the best vocals James has put out this decade.

  • @Scarecrow545 James is better in 2010 then in '08 in my opinion, you can tell he's been trying to sound better and better throughout the course of the tour.

  • @Looneylinens

Yeah, but his voice is just way too worn out and all thin and nasally. Not a fan.

One of the few highlights from 2010 was the Sofia show, and Melbourne night 3 tho. Sounded awesome in Jump In The Fire during the latter.

  • @Scarecrow545 I guess all that matters is that we both enjoy Metallica, regardless of what era we prefer.

  • @Looneylinens

Heh, didn't see your other comment.

Ill end it after this, but, they've said themselves that they changed direction because they felt they wouldn't have been able to take thrash any further than they did with Justice; they wouldn't have been able to top it in complexity or progression, so they moved on, and tried something new. They never gave two fucks about staying "relevant". I guarantee that if they hadn't been so successful with TBA, no one would accuse em of selling out.

  • @Scarecrow545 Black album isn't my issue, it's what they did with their new fame. Load/Reload, and St. Anger. They didn't necessarily need to get more and more progessive and complex to stay with thrash, I wouldn't have minded more Master of Puppets type albums. Doesn't always need to go to the next level.

  • @Looneylinens

Nah, but if they really had sold out, they wouldn't have made the Loads, they would have made Black Album II. Selling out means compromising artistic integrity for money. While The Loads did sell well, that was only cause they had the Metallica name on em. The Black Album still sold much further.

Yes, but you gotta understand, that's where the boring part comes in. EVERY major band changes direction at some point. Metallica just takes the brunt of it with the sellout accusations.

  • @Looneylinens Buddy, every random guy who foung a guitar or broken drum set on the street can play AC/DC. If they were to make it big now they woulg 1000% be labelled as EMO

  • @ultrasfrontbotev Lmao. Learn how to spell and go fuck yourself.

  • @Scarecrow545 I don't even like those bands, but I respect them. Bands like Metallica, and Megadeth changed their style to stay relevant, and now are trying to regain their original essence. Metallica did have a lot of good songs during the 90's, but they don't sound like METALLICA. And who's to say their music went to shit? Me, it's my opinion, and if what they did was so great, and they loved what they were doing, why stop? Why did they make DM and not another Load type album?

  • @Looneylinens

Because that's what moving forward is. Progression. It gets boring, playing the same style of music, over and over. They made their stamp on thrash metal and moved on. Then, they "rediscovered" it with DM.

  • @Scarecrow545 Well thats a load of horse shit, I always hear people say that, it gets boring, whatever. If I play country music, it's because I love it. Maybe they shouldn't have played thrash metal if they didn't like it. Thats bullshit though, they just changed to stay relevant, not to fight boredom.
