The easiest way is to create a matte. add a colorama to your video and set it to grey. Then just adjust contrast until the sky is black and the ground is white. Add in your normal video under the matte and set the normal video's track matte to inverse alpha or whatever it is. It should be the bottom option. This method is faster and gives better results.
@BMAnnArbor yeah. then if you want a moving camera you can track it and it will still work instead of having to rotoscope frame by frame using the above method. good tutorial tho :)
Couldnt you make two comps of the same video, mask out the whole sky, replace it with whatever background and then drag and drop to your first comp? Or am I just speaking jibberish? lol

you could give the skyline picture a fast blur of maybe 2 or 3, because of depth of field... it should be blurrier than the guy
