My Dane would do this and I was so used to it I kind of ignored it when we went somewhere.....but he would draw a crowd because people would think I trained him...I didn't! I think as Dane owners we sometimes forget or take for granted how comical our breed can be...and just how big too. I describe Mackie as "petite", because for a male, he was, but then people laugh & say "Petite" & "Dane" don't belong in the same sentence!

Hahaha, my Dane turns on our faucets with the center lift piece (not knobs) and opens doors that have the handle (again, not knob). They are very smart animals...I just wish she knew how to turn the water back off! LOL

We have a black Dane, and given their penchant for crashing through bushes, fences etc, and their ears being tissue thin, it is a GOOD idea to have them cropped. We were also against cropping until we adopted ours, and the poor girl has spent countless time recovering from torn ears!
