Not a big fan of Jeeps. Don't like a cheap ass uncomfortable interior. But I'd rather buy a cheap ass interior Jeep thn that Crap Rover. Keep it on the concrete where it belongs...
The jeeps really just better because it's so much lighter. I don't think the rr would have gotten stuck of he took out enough air and adjusted the suspension, but again the driver needs to know what he's doing
When it comes to traction tires are 90%. To compare vehicles you need the same tires on both of them. The RR had motorway spec. on road tires. The Jeep did not. It takes a pretty ignorant off roader to not recognize that.
@Skarre2 Agreed, but it takes an ignorant off roader to drive a mammoth Range Rover onto sand with road tires. So I can conclude that the Jeep driver is smarter for two reasons. 1) Not buying a Rover 2) If he plays in the sand, he has appropriate gear.
dumbass in the RR should have put the traction control into Sand Mode, and lifted the suspension. he would not have ever gotten stuck. it looked like the suspension was in access mode or entry mode (extremely lowered position)
@Mr3whiteboys there are 3 sub-catagories of Wrangler: Sahara, Sport, and Rubicon. and not all the time. i smoked my friends Rubi when we went mudding (i have a '99 sport and he has an '04 Rubi) it really depends on the skills of the driver.
Another classic case of an oversized ego. The car is only as good as the driver. Just because they pack it full of arguably the best 4x4 technology (of which it has been the top of the line for for many years) isn't going to make the driver know what to do. And the select terrain settings that Jeep is just starting to play with....Land rover has had for YEARS. I don't have anything against jeeps, but don't try to play them off for something they're not.
@kabotafan Jeeps win wars my friend. Land rovers are only good for hunting tigers and that is it. Also goes to show the type of peeps that buy those over priced, boxes on wheels. Do yourself a favor and stay in country club where it is safer.
@fatwapper So wait... you're basing your argument off of metaphors? Like I said, I have nothing against jeep. I almost bought one because they are, indeed, good cars. I just think it's a little pathetic that people post things like this without taking into account the facts. Any 4x4 could have pulled that range rover out. The fact that it's a jeep is negligible. And that range rover had no business being in the sand with those tires, or that driver. Facts my friend.
@metalbeast99 Could be, but I am not a fan of those. I think it's better to relieve some of the problem by shoveling out sand from in front of the wheels first to provide less rolling resistance. I'm for using the minimum amount of horse power needed, stomping on the gas usually just tears things up. Most people are just too lazy or don't know enough basics about levers, inclines and pulleys.
@ffjsb Im with you. Each time the vehicle goes from pulling no dead weight (dead weight being the stuck vehicle) to a couple thousand pounds of it, it puts "shock stress" on mechanical parts such as u-joints, drive chains, and gears. I'm all for putting the least amount of stress possible on these parts, making them last longer.
@superhawkn really, why is that? Because it looks cool? The same chassis / suspension / drivetrain can be found on the Discovery 1, and RRC, for much less money, and far greater driving comfort. All you people that talk up the Defender like it is the greatest truck ever are just plain stupid.
Libertys are getting a bad rap! Sure there is no 4.0 booo and no real axle upfront booo. But name another vehicle built today that compares. Toyota or honda CRV? Na and there more pricey.
Land Rover: that's bad , I mean really bad ... you're expensive and you had to be pulled by American pure muscle ... That's wrong , what is all that money for huh?
@JustAnotherJake7 Hint, I said /pure/ American. Not that it matters to me, I own and love my Liberty and my brother owns a TJ. American or not, Jeeps are my favorite.
Well The video is nice, but It seems like the liberty is on AT tyres and the rover on street tyres so the video shows how to pull another truck been stuck in sand.... No a jeep vs a rover
Dont even dare saying that this new range rovers are good for off road. i can show you a video of a range rover sport i had rent stuck in the sand also. they are only good in tarmac!
OMG my country?? what the fuck do you know about me?? do you know anything about land rovers to even talk?? i had a range rover 3.9 V8! its good stock, then you put bigger tyres and there goes the CV joints... then bought a land rover 2.5 tdi, nice and confy and at good off road, with 140.000kms there goes the turbo, then water pump, and with 182.000 cracked the engine block....
Camel trophy? loool that was only for rovers dick head lololol thats why they used it every year.
I hear a Liberty foolishly bouncing off the rev-limiter trying desperately to show off, and see a Range Rover driving itself out after airing down. Operator inexperience has nothing to do with the capabilities of the vehicle.
Fortunately, the Rangie chap now has more off-road experience than most of the commentators to this video.
@techorb Showing off? You can clearly see right when the rope tightens the rover pops out after some much needed help from the liberty, who happens to be high revving because I'm sure he doesn't want to get stuck himself. Then after being unstuck he airs down so it won't happen again. I hear one kid doing a whole lot of talking trying desperately to show off.
what a piece of shitttt, u spend all that money and since it says 4x4 u think u can go anywhere...NOT... Get a Jeep Mr. Range Rover...oh and just so u know u are suppose to AIR DOWN b4 u go on the beach plus u should make sure u have all-terrain tires deuche.. go back to the hamptons and park it b4 u end up havin it float away into the ocean...just sayin lmfao
@420manpunk u should air down before however i drive my range rover off road/ beach all the time and it has highway tires... if driven correctly there is no need for a/t tires on the sand but i did buy some a/t tires for my wrangler tj !
See, that is what happens without optimal clearance!
