I'm curious as to what the dimensions of your room are. I'm guessing that the resonant frequency of the room is 35-40Hz given the amount of information that was lingering there. Have you plugged the room dimensions into a mode calculator?
@xubxub Using an awesome program called fuzzmeasure, mac only. I have access to some expensive acoustic measurement hardware but still prefer this program!
@TheDSPproject First of thanks for making me buy more gear I just got my TC level pilot and my novation zero sl I love them both haha. I've been trying to figure out the best way to map it with Ableton, The standard mapping works well theirs just a few buttons and functions that aren't being used. Also What did you use to measure the waterfall graph and frequency response. Do you think an EQ would help much to get rid of some of those peaks?
@dylan3840 Ha ha your welcome, I used a great program called fuzzmeasure for the tests / graphs. You can use eq but there are a few issues. 1) the response will change around the room, making it worse in some places. 2) Putting everything through an EQ will colour the sound. So its not an option for me.

@scu11ey Im no longer in that room but it was about 5x6m
Problem was it was an odd shape not a rectangle so those calculators dont apply.
Good idea all the same, thanks.

now the problem is sorted,
this is really comprehensive & useful, it's amazing how much better the pro treatment worked in the bass region!
i bet adding some proper bass traps in the corners would polish off that low end though!

Thanks for the heads up @gix10000 its great having you around!
Yeah your right more traps would be next on my list. Not sure how long I will stay in this room tho so Im not going to spend any more just yet.

@TheDSPproject its cool,

@gix10000 I hope not too after I just finished putting them up! Might be moving to another place in London but a lot is in the air atm.
