  • What parody is this?

  • @randomglam11 Of the doors

  • whats with the random indins near the end

  • @stfk9754 do you know anything about "The Doors"???

  • Ray Manzarek performed the keyboards on this song...how cool is that? I'm still trying to get the left hand bass right hand organ thing down. Harder than fuck!

  • @low72 Wouldn't he have also done it with bass pedals like a lot of other organists?

  • this man is a god!

  • He absolutely nailed Jim Morrison. This is awesome.

  • WOW--Really guys...It is NOT an Original song, sans the Lyrics, which are Great..lol, 20th Century Fox!

  • @Exeter1227 Its a parody of When the Musics Over I believe

  • @Halliday7895 You're both wrong. It's a style parody of The Doors overall. The intro is from When the Music's Over, followed by Twentieth Century Fox. The solo is probably based on the one from Light My Fire and the snotty barista section is from The End.

  • @Thenso37 Don't forget Soul Kitchen as well, good sir. I say thank you & good day. Ooh.

  • @low72 And Roadhouse Blues, Riders on the Storm, and Five to One

  • @GrisGrisOnUrDoorStep and the rest of their discography :P

  • @low72 Haha right?

  • LOL.. Omg.. Out of all His Song that He creates or does.. This one Soo rocks! heheh I loved it!!

  • The man is just plain brilliant!

  • haha, it sounds alot like soul kitchen.

  • @TheJUGGERNAUT987 "When the music's over"

  • i wonder what is the genre of weird al? i personally think he deserves one of his own

  • Ray Manzarek (original member of The Doors) did keyboard for this song.

  • I've had time to think about it and I believe that I can actually use the styrofoam peanuts!

  • this is so hilarious! I love the Doors and weird Al and have for about 20 years, and now I have them both! Ride the Snake Al, ride the snake. You do it well!

  • best wierd al song ever

  • @MrJPsAccount Amish paradise is so much better

  • @MissRandomMe in your opinion mabye im just a really big doors fan and have never seen someone as dead on as this thats why i think its the best but ur entitled to your opinion

  • lol this is like a mix of soul kitchen and 20th century fox and roadhouse blues, and a titsload of other doors songs. love it

  • i cant focus on this video while lil wayne staring at me.....

  • whoa, x-rated activity in the blue pattern over his left shoulder at 0:51?

  • NO TIP FOR YOU!!! XD

  • Al is too much! Regardless of what song or artist he's polking fun at, his parodies are always well done, well thought out, and hilarious. He's insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And that's Ray Manzarek of the Doors playing the keyboards.

  • @BeatlesExaminer wow, boss!

first time i heard this song i was in hospital recovering from stomach surgery. i was watching tv-- in massive abdominal pain at 4:00am-- + this came on. i'd not heard it before but i love the doors + i love weird al, so i tried to watch it, but by the time he started on about the packing peanuts i physically had to switch channels because i was afraid i would bust my stitches. <=0/

  • Sounds like When the Music's Over.

  • @MarkQuintanar Soul Kitchen

  • Nice to hear Weird Al parodying GOOD music like "When The Music's Over" (check out the REAL version at w w w.y o u t u b e.c o m/watch?v=plRgOw5uxLo&feature=related), instead of CRAPOLA excuses for music like Ladie Gag-Gag, etc.

  • This sounds like every song The Doors ever wrote.

  • Jim Morrison is a great singer!!!!! The Doors!!!!!!!

  • The Doors ^^

  • @Chago14789 Different parts of this song strongly resemble mulitiple Doors songs, including Hello (I love you), 20th Century Fox and When the Music's over.

  • the beggining is like "when the musics over"!! good job al...as usual

  • 130 people didn't see Al hold up his index finger. No tip for you!!!

  • ray manzarek played on this! omg!!!!!

  • Keep them coming Al

  • For 130 people - the music's over :)

  • kinda sounds like shes not there by zombie

  • I was scared to 4:11

  • Comment removed

  • i hear when the musics over in there somewhere i think

  • The staccato timing on "Didn't you see me hold up my index finger?" kills me every time. Then he sends it over the top with his snotty delivery of "No tip for you!".

This is awesome on so many levels. Got to be one of his all time best.

  • do you want my styrofoam peanuts?

  • Wow, mam, awesome, far out, and what's with the attitude, lady? No tip for you!

  • ironically one of the best imitations of jim i've everheard!

  • YIKES!! Jim Morrison lives. Must have come back with Elvis.

  • Yes, Manzarek is on the studio recording. On tour, though, it's just Al's band.

  • It's a parody of The Doors songs "Soul Kitchen and When The Music's Over."

  • wow !...this *&%$ good !..jeez I didn't know that AL was Jim's brothter..who knew ?

  • Saw Al do this in concert before Christmas. It was hilarious. Too bad he couldn't bring Ray Manzarek on tour with him.

  • @BeatlesExaminer Is Manzarek playing on this? He's seems like such an approachable guy, so many musicians wouldn't want to get involved in a parody of their band's music, 30 or 40 years after it happened.

  • styrofoam peanuts! omgosh... LOL this is hilarious to true craigslisters!

  • Except you can find the irises of Al's eyes.

  • He always does such a great job of not only getting the musical style right, but the dance moves. This is Jim Morrison.

  • Any other women think he's absolutely HOT, or am I 'weird' myself?!!!

  • al did not say penis, he said packing styriphome peanuts.

  • Just an FYI for all those of you who want to know what to know what the original song is:

This is an ORIGINAL song. Written by Al in the STYLE of The Doors.

So, this IS the original song. Thumbs up so people will stop asking.

  • @Dangeresque300

It's pretty hard to deny that the intro is straight out of When the Music's Over... the keyboard groove, and even the way he comes in with sort of a shriek/shout.

  • @Dangeresque300 I'd say it's heavily based on "Soul Kitchen".

  • @OIIIlllIIIO sounds like about 3 songs-"hell, i love you", "Soul Kitchen", "riders on the storm."

  • @Dangeresque300 With Ray Manzarek playing on it.

  • @Dangeresque300 Can't convince me it's not "20th century fox"

  • @MrSluggoSir667 It's clearly a parody of 20th Century Fox by the Doors.

  • @Dangeresque300 Thanks! AL called them 'Style Parodies' at his concert, since it is not a direct parody of a specific song. Wonder if he had to get the remaining Doors permission?

  • @tangogrrl Well, I believe since he had one of the original members of the Doors, Ray Manzarek, playing on the song, that pretty much counted. That's not the first time either, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits played guitar for Money for Nothing/the Beverly Hillbillies.

  • @shaneomacfan3 Wow thanks! I did not know that. But now that I replay it, I can absolutely hear it. didn't know about Mark Knopfler either. That's excellent! You know a lot of Al factoids? (I mean that in a good way, since Dr. Demento always referred to us as Dementoids and Dementites) : )

  • @tangogrrl Yeah, I've been an Al fan for over 25 years, so I've learned things here and there. When Al asked if he could do a parody of Money For Nothing, Mark Knopfler said sure, but only if Knopfler could play guitar on it himself.

  • @Dangeresque300 noo this is a complete parody of when the musics over

  • @Dangeresque300 Not exactly bud, the music is very nearly 20th Century Fox directly. The Doors did have a pretty distinct style so it sounds a bit like Peace Frog and some others, but I'd say it's a fairly close parody of that one song.

  • @Dangeresque300 how can you say that?! It's clearly a parody made from When the Music is Over!!! Any Doors fan would know that!!!

  • @Dangeresque300 Didn't Ray Manzarek actually play the keyboards on this? How awesome would it be to jam with those guys? lol

  • @mcdrunkin Yes, that's Ray Manzarek. Al brought him in specifically to recreate the Doors style.

  • @chris1pdx thought I had heard that somewhere. I know Al is a parody guy but damn he's got talent I love his original works at least as much as his parody.

  • The fact that people have to ASK what the original song was is staggering and shameful.

  • @chuckmgjr It's really pathetic, you know? smh.

  • @chuckmgjr but youd better answer cuz maybe they like the doors to ;)

  • "Do you want my styrofoam penis?"

  • the beginning sounds like beck,

but also like the doors? witch one is it?

  • @martijnspeed The Doors all the way. I have no clue who or what "beck" is. This is based on The Lizard King himself Jim Morrison and the Doors.

  • @glenwo2 listen to beck, where its at.

    hear any resemblance ?

  • @glenwo2 If you like The Doors, Weird Al, and musicians who are really out there creating great poetry, imagery and whose songs don't all sound the same, do a YouTube search on 'Beck'. He is very talented, and you may like his stuff. Unusual, on the edge, sometimes really wack, but a great artist. I'm sure he was very influenced by our Lizard King.

  • sound allot like beck

  • Do you want my styrofoam peanuts? You can have 'em all...

  • whats the original song??

  • @ksiao kinda reminds me of Soul Kitchen by The Doors

  • Hahaha xD he even looks like Jim Morrison in here!

  • The only thing bad about this song is that it doesn't go for eleven minutes.

  • It wasn't just in the style of the Doors...Ray Manzarek, the Doors' keyboardist, was involved with the song too. Classic!

  • I like the ebay song better!!

  • I love this song, it never gets old!

  • I love The Doors!

  • Coolio has 127 fake accounts.

  • I love The Doors and I freaking love Weird Al. What a great combo!

  • is this a parody or a orignal song?

  • @thefiredemon1 Original in the style of The Doors

  • wow can i get a instrumental of this?

  • i hear a few Doors songs parodied in this song, can someone tell me what songs are in here?

  • @sicnessrusso95 When the music's over is one....

  • @sicnessrusso95

    When the music's over

    Soul Kitchen

    Twentieth century fox

  • I like Schaffer the Dark Lord's craigslist better.

  • kinda sounds like part of "walking on the sun"?

  • @BulletTrain162 HAHA! dude when i listened to this yesterday i thought the same thing then went and listened to it. If you want to see a sweet live performance of "when the music's over" check out my channel (this parody is in in the style of that song) great live performance by The Doors. Also, Ray Manzarek provided the keyboard for this song, how cool is THAT?

  • Comment removed

  • @BulletTrain162 I'll tell you what it sounds like. It sounds like Soul Kitchen by The Doors. Look it up.

  • whats this a parody of

  • @nflip53 It's not a parody of a song it's just done in the style of "The Doors" kind if like how CNR isn't of a parody of a song either just done in the style of "The White Stripes"

  • 125 people forgot to bring their own Hefty bags.

  • Despite my great respect for Weird Al, I have to ask...how is a major artist upload on YouTube in today's age in ONLY 480P?

  • This is great, because craigslist is SO like that!

  • Great song about the site but time for something new. Check out google Whatz-What

  • well i saw him preform this live and he is a bleeping mazing.i want to see him again and during the yoda song he let people sing yoda,i was one of them i love you al! peace love wierd

  • i love this song about what AI did!

  • why am I reminded of the doors in the beginning????

  • @blackjackbust360 he is parodying the style of the doors for this song.

  • (4.05)do you want my styrofoam peanuts?....you can have 'em all...

.(arms flail everywhere) they're on CRAIGSLIST!!!

    LOVE IT!!!

  • Damn he is still awesome! Weird Al forever! Never let's me down and I always laugh!JUST what I need today too!

  • Jim Morrison would've been proud!

  • The beginning is definitely soul kitchen

  • @Epiphone982 I'd say that the actual riff is taken from Soul Kitchen, while the "Whoa, yeah!" is taken from When the Music's Over. When the Music's Over was, in my opinion, The Doors making nods to themselves. The intro is from Soul Kitchen, the "Turn out the lights" is from the line "End of the night" in End of the Night, and the spoken part is based on the one in The End.

  • i luv weird al <3 especially this song :)

  • There = they're. Just wanting to help those who just arrived in the U.S. and need to know the difference that most Americans should have learned by now if they've gotten past the fourth grade of elementary school.

  • red speed-os? WTF

  • Is it just me, or is this the only non-animated video on the Alpocalypse DVD?

  • Sorry Al--you used to be better--MUCH better.

  • @NRecob No. Your opinion is stupid

    *sarcasm

  • Not as Good as Jimmy Fallon did last night! But still great!

  • which doors song is this? damn i really should know but i dont, please somebody tell me...

  • Comment removed

  • @asaisastrangechild It is not a specific song parody, but a song based on The Doors' style

  • @asaisastrangechild when the musics over

  • ok somebody help me is he supposed to look like Jim Morrison from the Doors cause thats what he looks like if im wrong please dont hate on me

  • @nicobellic15 yes

  • Al Yankovic's range and repertoire are mind boggling. I've been a fan ever since my high school days listening to him on Dr. Demento. Keep going Al!

  • This isn't even a cover, for those who are wondering. It's a style parody. The doors, to be exact. He's done it before. Ever heard 'I'll sue ya"? Seems to have sections from both RATM's "bombtrack" and "sleep now in the fire". It's a style parody, using the bands general sound and style.

  • ...i know i may be perverted but i swear i heard Styrofoam pengus.

  • Al was awsome last night in Santa Rosa. BTW, Coolio was not the original artitst anyway on the "Amish Paradise" Song. Ironically Coolio was covering a Stevie Wonder tune called "Past Time Paridise." So, Coolio was a hypocrite to gripe about recycling the song in the first place.

  • @wookib I'm from Santa Rosa, but I'm at college in SoCal. Luckily, he played in Anaheim last night, lol :)

  • Coolio is a little asshole.

  • @Ralastar You mean Foolio?

  • @chrishirschfeld Something like that.

  • I ARE ON CRAAAAAAAAAAAIGSLIST lol

  • i feel high man whoooaaaa

  • Everyone who hates just can't appreciate the original song, AND Weird Al's parody of it.

They need to learn to accept multiple versions of the same thing.

  • automatic drive lol....

  • the doors in RI, Mass area tonight people, suck it >:D

  • 129 people still use ebay.

  • Oh, no. He did the Doors too. Oh, too funny.

  • cant believe i never heard this before, great song al

  • Ray Manzarek performed keyboards on this one

  • Wow! what an honor for craigslist to have Weird Al write a parody about them.

  • @Wisconsin When the Music's Over
