Are the sign holders the news anchors for WBZ? Since I don't live in Boston, I obviously don't watch WBZ, but those people look familiar from what I've seen about WBZ.

Yes. (For what it's worth, they are, in order: Jonathan Elias, Lisa Hughes, John Keller, Steve Burton with Bob Lobel, Lisa again, and Jack Williams. And since Banner 17 did come, there's an updated version running now with a Patriots-related message.)

What's most amazing is that this promo probably didn't cost that much yet has generated tons of buzz and heavily increased ratings for the station. It's great to see in a world of mindless TV that the masses will still reward creativity.
As for the promo elements, I think the music is too campy to promote the evening news, but it's absolutely perfect for the morning crew.
