hi dude ive got the dtx520 do you think it would be good to record onto a tascam recording studio and what kit setting do you recommend for metal drumming?
@bigmikey690 I'm not sure what the tascam recording studio is, but how I record using these drums is, I run a 3.5mm (Headphone cable) to my computers mic input. And I use the audio recording program Audacity. As far as the kits, I think kit 1 Oak Custom is the best, most realistic sounding kit, you can create a custom kit however, to make it better suit your needs.
oh yeah about the u cant add more pad anymore.. i asked my friend he used Roland V drum/ Yamaha DTXpress module and he bought additional pad + cymbal pad, then he got more pad(but that will cost more for sure)
the Midi Out u can buy the Midi to USB cable (yamaha ux/uv16) then u can play DTXMania ^^v (u can check it on gdamania.net or drumpdf.com to know more, thats should add more fun to your beautiful DTX there
@EmzybadgalXX i didnt know they had a 540. the 550 might be what youre talking about, the only difference is it has a hi hat floor stand and the stand is different,
You actually can add a single zone pad even by pluggin it in the bass drum beater. I've just bought this kit in italy a couple of weeks ago and it's pretty badass. I prefer this one than the roland td4 (which i tryied in the store of course). For a quite home practise you wouldn't want nothing more at this price.
The only thing i have regrets about is the lack of dtx pads on the toms.. but you have to pay a lot, hope to replace the rubber ones when ill got money;)
@WNxNokturnal its because the back is full, so one would assume it's maxed out. but now i looked on the website, and it can add two pads per tom plug ins, you just need to purchase a splitter.
My roland I had back in the day, had extra inputs to plug additional pads, so I was a bit confused.
@chazzyboy1234 you CAN assign new sounds on additional pads with the splitters. Please, do more research of it and hopefully this feature will make you a happier man :)
Hi thanks for the video! I liked! it helped me a lot because I was confused if im gonna buy the yamaha gigmaker or this yamaha dtx 520K where did you bought this and how much is it? please reply :)
@IamKari23 I bought it on newegg, com. However, it is currently out of stock, I got it for $849 USD. It does not include a throne or a pedal so keep that in mind.
cool did it come with a pedal? I have seen yes and no on different sites

No they wont sound the same. Read Your Manual! Tom1 also has another # next to it, as do the other toms. You assign the sound to that #
TheGooch1972 1 month ago
you can also split the tom inputs to add more pads
TheGooch1972 1 month ago
the kick pad has an input for an extra cymbal

It says you can add up to 4 pads so im not sure why you think its maxed out?

chazzyboy1234 3 months ago
@chazzyboy1234 if you plug a splitter into one tom input, then wouldnt the two toms coming out of it sound exactly the same? whats the point?
menagedrumma 2 months ago
@menagedrumma Thank you, those were my thoughts exactly, there's no point in having two toms with the same pitch and same sound.

@chazzyboy1234 Can you choke the cymbal? and does the cymbal work on dtx500k
ImDeathNote 1 month ago
@ImDeathNote Yes, and yes!
chazzyboy1234 1 month ago
@chazzyboy1234 will it choke even if its on the dtx500k?
ImDeathNote 1 month ago
i might be getting the drum kit is this better then dtx500k
EmzybadgalXX 3 months ago
@EmzybadgalXX yes much better, the 500k's dont have a great stand, and dont have the DTX snare. the 520 has a much sturdier stand and a DTX snare.
chazzyboy1234 3 months ago
@chazzyboy1234 cool thanks i might be getting this one 520k

3:25 It IS 3 a zone pad (PCY100). Too bad the hi-hat input is limited up to 2 zone.
5:11 Actually you can add more pads with Y cable (up to 4 single zone pad). Watch this for more clearer explanation

ransisua 3 months ago
@ransisua If I understand correctly wouldn't adding pads with Y cables make them the same sound, because they are plugging into one input?
chazzyboy1234 3 months ago
@chazzyboy1234 Nope. You can assign new sound. Here's the example

@ransisua never heard a bell used on a hi hat. 3 zone hat is pointless
