@SunWukong4 I tend to agree. I have seen no end of Japanese and Korean Horror films. They tend to be better than the Chinese horror. This Ab Normal Beauty I watched today. Though it from Hong Kong it is more like the rubbish that comes out of America. Though the Pang Brothers other film 'The Eye' was good and better than the American re-make. One of the best Hong Kong films I have seen is Dumplings. Not really a horror movie but still good.

@Raider577 I believe all asian horror films have their edges. Chinese horror films also have the blend of comedy in their films like mr vampire, my left eye see's ghosts and bio zombie.

@SunWukong4 You are probably right. I will try to rent or find a few more Chinese ones to see including the ones you mentioned. I have seen one Thai horror 'Sick Nurses' not that good. But I hear the Thai film 'Shutter' is good. I saw the Americvan remake which was okay

@claric81 Personally I wouldn't call this a horror movie, it's more of a psychological thriller (except for maybe the ending) and it's really good if you like that kind of movies.

Horror isn't just blood, guts, monsters, etc. There is also psychological horror. That is a main theme with asian movies. They tend to focus more on fear of the mind. The horror is how it grips you, what you would think, feel, do, etc. So yes, this movie is a horror movie. It would behoove one to learn that there isn't just one cookie-cut form of horror, lol.

I know this movie for many years. And as HOSTLE was new I thought It would be with some torture scenes like in this movie. But I was disappointed.

This movie was directed by Oxide Pang but was produced by both of the Pang Twins. I love their movies, I have watched most of them. I like The Eye 2 but the last The Eye movie (10) was not that great. Anyway, they are great directors and Im really into their movies. Pang-addicted!

In some website somebody said that THE EYE10 is nor really THE EYE3. Suposely there's another movie with another story about a widow which is THE EYE 3 indeed. The one you mentioned is kind of parody, it is not a horror movie.

Yes, it's not. It's plain to see the eye 3 (or 10) is a comedy. Suposely THE EYE 3 is being filmed. The only Pan brother's movies I have seen are the eye 1,2 and Recycle. I saw the trailer of a movie named DIARY,but I haven't found where to download it!!

Ok...If u like horror movies u should watch Chinese movies and also the great American movie Dark Water. A good action movie is Hong Kong film BeastStalker and Lung Fu Moon
