  • Are you playing Toxic Holocaust?

  • rails on the table

  • Thanks for a great video. Glad you used simple chuggery to really demonstrate the crushing tone of this amp, instead of incoherent widdle like a lot of people do. I'm considering buying one (with the Krank cab) and this has helped a lot. Thanks again

  • is that the same as krank revolution series one ? :)

  • @SuperAlexi600 i wish we knew for sure to be honest but the website might be able to determine that

  • how do like that cab? i gotta mesa head and a egnator cab but i think the egnator is a bad high gain cab.

  • is that strait plug in or is that with compretion?

  • Great amp! Beefy sound and no pedals needed. What more could you ask for.

  • Soad at the beginning, I think so ;)

  • You've got really good timing

  • boring riffs but the important thing here is the tone

  • this amp sucks dont buy it!

  • @curlsmuadbe lollll my ass

  • Not a bad amp but a little too cold and dry for me

  • ugly riffs!!!

  • @strungout1983 Do you mean "Bad" Riffs?

  • Very dry amps, You gotta be good as in the gain doesnt hide your mistakes. I got the krankenstein and krankenstein cab and its been makin me play better and more precise.

  • krank head work best with krank caps

  • Wrong cab for this thing man.

  • so is the Rev+ heavier than the Krankenstien or what? I'm just trying to find the heaviest, crunchiest, warmest amp out there with an ass load of gain and low end that holds together at high volumes, if anyone could help that would be awesome

  • @iChugCoffee Krankenstein has more gain I think. It wont sound nearly as tight as the Rev. Its better for heavy riffs, not and melodic metal or any of that. But thats going into a lot of detail. The difference isnt too great. The difference is the Krankenstein has a solid state pre amp (i think Randall) so its a little bit warmer and crunchier.

  • @guitargod250 Oh sweet, thats what i have now, an old Randall RG100 2x12 combo that i found at guitar center but i was stuck on either Krank or Randall but i didnt know the Krank had a solid state preamp, now i'm sure which amp i'm getting.

  • @iChugCoffee Hah good luck. Try testing it out first though just to make sure.

  • @guitargod250 Correction: The Krankenstein does not have a solid state preamp it is a full tube amp it has four 12AX7 pre-amp tubes and has four 6550 power tubes (This is the plus version I'm talking about and I'm reading from the company site) The Randall RG100 is fully solid state(Both pre and power amp sections) I presume. Just thought I let you know that's all, no offense is meant to be given. :)

  • my last name is krank lol

  • how much cost all?

  • New to mods on amps. What are the typical mods done? What is the best place to get them online?

  • Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier

    Carvin V3412

    Randall MTS RM100

    Marshall TSL

    Bogner Ecastsy

    Krank Rev+

Are my favorites. And are the best?

  • you forgot a boosted JCM 900

  • what are your settings?

  • how much is like a 100 watt

  • way over 900.xD

  • @Metallica6153 New would be around 1700-1900. used on ebay probly 1000

  • after listing to kranks and lots of others i love kranks sound i play metal hard rock death metal and kranks are perfect now i just wish i could afford one lol

  • riffs suck...

  • I know... it always seems like the people who play these amp test videos play shitty riffs. They should play something melodic death metal instead of just the open string over and over.

  • something brutal !

  • check out ryan mendez of yellowcard playing on a krank amp, its awesome.

  • doubtful

  • Most people do it just to show the tone, not the complexity of their riffs.

  • what guitar did you use on that ? also, what were the pickups ?

  • But still, Line 6 stuff is pretty good when you can't afford something tube-driven, especially compared to other digital stuff manufacters.

  • @Nightmaroid Line 6 is good for your bedroom.

  • dude what song is this..or is it just some original thing you put togethar..whatever it is it is good

  • Krank amps rule! I love the Krank tone.

  • i don't like krank at all, i mean it sounds all right but, marshall, mesa boogie, peavey, line 6, are good, krank is just bleh!

  • haha, u obviously havent heard Within the ruins then. they get a balls ass tone from krank

  • line 6? good? For a beginner maybe. I'll take tube over digital any day

  • Of course dude! Tube amps rules!!! ^_^

  • @425V8

Or you can get a Line 6 HD100 Tube head. It's pretty amazing. I was so surprised when I tried it out.

    Definitely NOT a beginner amp.

  • @SteeleInd line 6 isnt that bad really. i have a 50 watt 1962 ampeg reverberocket. i run my line 6 spider III 15 into my ampeg becayse its a tube amp and it makes the line 6 sound so much better especially on the insane channel. but line 6 does have many downsides.

  • @rockableanthony

Yeah, the biggest problems being that people associate them automatically with solid state amps, but their tube amps are pretty damn good.

    Especially the HD100.

  • @SteeleInd hell yeah they do. i prefer tube over solid state. i try to be careful though when using my Ampeg because its so damn old so i just use the hell outta my Line 6. if i need to go loud than ill run my Line 6 into my Ampeg. i really do like the Line 6 Spider Valve. the only problem i have is i like to switch between clean and heavy distortion a lot but the pod pedals just arent that same to me its kinda hard

  • I played that amp its a joke, it doesnt respond to strumming like a tube amp. It does have a little tube saturation but, sounds mostly digital

  • You're thinking of a different amp, then. Because this amp IS a tube amp.

  • I was talking about this amp, i was responding to the comment about the line 6 hd100

  • Yeah I know. The Line 6 HD100 is a tube amp. Designed by Bogner, manufactured by Line 6.

  • @SteeleInd not really Bogner only designed the power tube mounting and the speakers. The preamp is all line 6 which is the almost the entire amp

  • I have a Marshall JCM 900 SL-X and a Peavey 5150 2x12 combo, I honestly prefer the Peavey all around. To each their own.

  • i love peavey amps i have a 30 watt vypyr that is amazing but im thinking of swappin for a 75 wattt for recording btw this thing fucks up my friends 75watt line 6 spyder

  • spiders are only good for practicing in the bedroom, IMHO

  • @99camarosupersport I like the krank because it has more gain, but peaveys are great amps, I'm proud to own one ^^

  • @99camarosupersport jcm900 and 5150 too different amps.

    900 is a mosfet

  • I've actually got a Peavey 6505+ Head played through and ENGL XXL Pro Cab, and it sounds quite nifty as well. Nice vid tho!

  • the best two brands siting right there

  • Sexy ass amp.

  • whats guitar

  • me and my freind blew a krank cabinet. we mixed it with an orenge head. 20,000 down the drain.

  • Oh my god! I wanna know what a 7-string sounds like with this bad boy in Drop A.

  • the tone is wicked

  • awesome gear, i'm thinking of getting a peavey or a krank just like yours.. but is too much cash. xddd

  • 0:41 sounds like In my darkest hour by megadeth

  • yeah it does haha

  • has the baby 6L6's??

  • Thats it im making a vid to show you how much this thing actually rapes with my equipment. Check it in like a week

  • hmm, im a big fan of the old three brands, Marshall, Mesa and Peavey...and oranges are super fun to use, but have good tone all the same

  • KRANK!

  • stick with peavey

  • LOLOLolololololol peavey isnt american hand made u fucking loser KranK is

  • My first head was a Bugera 333XL, they arnt as good as people make you think, the noise gate is horrible on it, doesnt work, and they fall apart easily. After going through 5 different amps I finally found a Peavey 5150 II and its the best amp I can ask for, I had options to get Kranks, Mesa Duals and Triples, Line 6 Spider Valves, but the 5150 II blows all of them away with tone.

  • me personally, if you want a nice metal amp head i would Go with Randall if you're looking for a good deal with sick tone. if u got a lot of cash to dish out, go with the Mesa Krank or Orange, those all have Sick tone as well

  • DIEZEL EINSTEIN

  • sweet head and cab!

  • not a bad tone actually!!! who said friends dont let friends play kranks!

  • idk anything about thses amps so im prob gonna sound stupid, but ive only heard thses with distortion and high gain, do they have clean channel? and if so how is it?

  • With the videos on youtube you would never know haha yeah it does the "kleen" channel, i have no idea as far as quality goes

  • oh ok thanks yeah and this quality sucks

  • this is so fucking boring

  • Has anybody tried the Krank Rev with a Vader Cabinet???

  • I did it sounded like poo too

  • id need to ask on your opinion cuz ppl always telling different shit.... between krank rev / mesa rectifier / peavey 6505 / engl invader / diezel herebert ........ To your knowledge whch is the best.? for hardcore/progressive playing (bands like sikth/architects/as i lie dying/ parkway drive)

  • I really would suggest the peavey 6505 if heavier music styles are all you want to play.

It is deff. not a versatile amp at all, but the tone is amazing.

I would choose my peavey over any other amp.

  • hey man i am looking at buying a 6505 soon and what should i go with the 6505+or just the 6505 whats the difference?

  • what do you play?

  • i play a valveking piece of shit with a distortion pedal

  • like you play metal right? I'd go with the 6505. I have owned the 5150 and the 5150 II (same as the 6505, any one who says other wise is a retard I talk to people all day who take apart the amps for a a living and they know) the 5150 sounded alot better then the 5150 II period. So get a 6505 or 5150, the 5150 II and 6505+ aren't as good for metal.

  • dude valvekings are awesome

  • valvekings are shitty, no offence but seriously get something like a randall or a krank valvekings suck

  • lol i like mine but its not what i am looking for

  • i would say the diezel. its the highest quality and most versatile.

  • to make it harder, I'd go for the ENGL, they sound great at both low and high volumes ;) I'd never go for a mesa though.

  • he needs to turn all of the fucking gain up. i want to hear how heavy this amp gets not some shitty distortion

  • Comment removed

  • tone sounds great, asscrust is dumb.

  • Krank amps sounds better with krank cabs, we have two cabs, a rectifier 4x12 with celestions speakers and a krankenstein cab with eminence texas heat and definitely the krank cabs sounds better.

  • i agree with u 100%

  • that sounds like poo. you got robbed.

  • or it means he doesn't know how to set tones..

  • the riffs are nice men

  • put a little bit more variety in there all i hear out of people is this metal bullshit

  • Then don't listen if you don't like it

  • i was looking for good equipment you shit not the type of music

  • hahaa you called him a shit

  • What level is the gain at?

  • Maybe 4 out of 10, it was a while ago so can't remember exactly.

  • I came !

  • LOL

  • i like this sound so fucking much, i wonder how krank will sound with a marshall cabinet. if you have a marshall cabinet would you put a vid of that combination up to?

  • I don't have a Marshall Cab currently. It is definitely a different sound though, not altogether bad, but I much prefer the Mesa.

  • ok thanks, you are probably fucking happy with those amps :) if i get more money ( im currently just 15 years old, so its a bit hard work :P) im sure im going to buy a krank or mesa :)

  • How about an ENGL?

They're cheaper and sound better in my opinion...check out the Fireball

  • I´ve just play one with a Marshall standard 1960 Cab today!

I´m sorry to tell you but it sounds HORRIBLE!

To much on high tone and no bass!

I tested it really tough today in the studio with emg´s and jeff beck pickups on difrent guitars and settings on the amp!

But this is only my view.

Get a cabinet with eminence speakers.

  • ok thanks man, i myself like more heavy tones to, so i think i will have about the same opinion :D

  • I too play my Krank through a 1960 cab. Yep, sounds like complete ass. Lots of high end and has an ear piercing shrill sound. I've thought of buying the Krank cab, or another cab with eminence speakers as a possible remedy. Not real sure though. Any thoughts on that or suggestions? Thanks.

  • look up "basson cabs" they sell there 300 watt air tight sealed cab with emi legends for 600 at guitar center. my buddies endorsed and has 2 and they OWN

  • I can tell you that the old celestions from the uk are really good, but the new china ones are shit! You have find a box with two different speakers like the Mesa Roadking!

    This box sounds so amazing!

This box and a 4X12 box with texas heat or something like!

Have a great surf into the new year!^^

  • is this the sst rev or the rev+?

  • Rev1

  • low gain my ass! great sound though. the playing could have been less repetitive but i guess its just a tone test

  • I have the Krank Rev and i would not trade it for any other amp, and the mesa cab does not sound as good as the krank cab, the krank has a sound to it that kicks ass

  • Can you upload some more samples of that configuration!??!?!

    5 stars dude!

  • I don't have that cab anymore. What I might try and do is record the same song with the Oversize cab with the guitar in the same tuning so you can hear the difference between the 2 cabs.

  • It sounds solid state for some reason

  • Probably just the video... it's pretty warm though...

  • What makes it sound solid state? You will not get a solidstate amp to sound that full and defined.

Maybe I just had the Presence a bit high and the bit of fizz is giving you that impression.

  • hey how much did it cost u?

  • from what i know if this is the SST Rev amp head then it costs 900 at guitar center,

  • Good vid man, hey what is your gain settings here?

  • 4 out of 10 from memory.

  • BEAUTIFUL COMBINATION

  • Beautyfull, that's the perfect combination!

    Can you upload some more?!

    Regards

  • hey bud, does that cab have the celestion v30's in it, it's sounds great through that mesa cab, the krank cabs are only ok

  • Yes it has V30's. That is the Traditional sized cab. I have since got the Standard (oversized) Mesa cab and prefer it to the Traditional one. I tried the Rev and 'stein through the Krank Rev cab and Mesa cab side by side and much preferred the Mesa. Also, the Mesa Standard is the top choice for recording as well. Check out my other videos for the Rev and 6505 through the Mesa Standard (oversized) cab. Unfortunately the mic on the vidcam distorts a little but you can get an idea of the tone.

  • The Rev actually sounds alot better through the Krankenstein cab with the Texas Heat speakers...

  • I am getting a Krank head and cant decide on the rev1+ or the krankenstein? And then for cabs, i cant decide a mesa or krank?

  • It all comes down to personal taste. I tried the Rev and 'stein a few different times through many cabs including Krank and Mesa. I preferred the Rev hands down over the 'stein (which is what I thought I wanted after all the hype about it) before I actually tried them out. I found it hollow and shrill sounding in comparison. I tried it at 2 stores and had the same impression. The Mesa cab was much fuller sounding compared to the Rev Cab also. The V30's make it better for recording also. IMHO

  • They all tend to have that "hollow" sound.

It's really hard to find anything different sounding... :(

  • have you tried boosting teh mids?

  • Hm, I think it doesn't matter for most amps, they keep tending to get that... same sound again.

Maybe for me personally I should find either different speakers or different tubes.

Probably both, but I've been working on it.

And I almost made my decision, I just have to actually buy it some time now.

  • its just the rev, and jordan thats a boogie 4x12 they list at 899.00

  • 899? damn at my local music store in canada there 1050 (cnadaidan)

  • Cab is around $2000 street price in Australia (that's the Traditional size in this video by the way), amp is around $3000 street price. Consider yourselves lucky.

  • ya lol

  • dude i wish i had the $1500 to go buy one of these.

  • how much did this cost.... cab also

  • check out krank amps facebook group for all kinds of demo`s, pics & reviews

  • thats the rev 1

  • Is that a rev+ or 1? I know you just joined but youtube needs more krank sounds. It sounds good.
