@335POWER dann hast du einfach keine ahnung wir haben gestern mim e93 m3 den 335i e93 um eine haaresbreite gezogen der 335 ist kaum langsamer auf dem blatt um 0.7 sekunden eigentlich ne super alternative
My z4M feels like molases running down a barrel at 3500ft!! I could only imagine it at 5500ft. On the other hand my wifes 335i doesn't feel any different ! I love driving her car up to the mountains...
Higher elevation means less dense air, so less air is available to the vehicle, resulting in less power. This is most noticeable in naturally aspirated vehicles.
335I couldn't keep up with an M3 on the track, not even close. How about giving the e46 M3 TT, I thought so...any time any day. 335I is sport cpe/sedan it doesn't carry the M badge for a reason.
335i could easily keep up with M3 on the track but you have to upgrade the supension and get LSD. cost about 5-6 Grand. Price difference between the 2 $15 Grand. I'll take the first 5-6 choice.
you only void the warranty for the stuff that you replace as it's not stock but the rest of the car still has warranty so if you replace your stock exhaust with after-market how do you want bmw to cover that if it wasn't even manufactured by them so that's all. Same thing goes for all the rest, after market parts have warranty too....... depends what you get dough.
Really does depend. Some dealers can cut you some slack, but on the bmw messageboard I'm on, chipped 335is are getting fucked over on the warranty end with the dealer not willing to fix anything. I'd play it safe, but you guys can mod your cars however you want. I prefer the comfort of knowing my warranty isn't at risk when I want a LSD(standard on the M3). Before doing any mods, talk to the dealer so you know what you're dealing with.
Some of you just can't believe a 335i can beat an M3, why not try a 135i, 0-60mph in 5.3 secs, faster than an e36 evo of 5.5secs. But back to the point, turbos retain more power than normally aspirated cars at high altitudes. Plus a 335i can generate 400Nm of torque with only 306bhp, but m3 e46 has no more than 365Nm even with 343hp.
yea nice info, but the 0-60 on the 135i is a little off, car and driver tested it and got under 4.7 seconds i think, somewhere under 5 seconds but thats with a skilled driver though 2.
i dont know why none of you bmw fans noticed this, but neither car was and M3. The other car doesnt have an m3 badge, exaust, or roof. and this car doesnt have the m3 double wishbone side mirrors. A real M3 is too fast for you guys to take footage of...
check again, the e36 M3 and the new M3 have 2 hinge connection in side mirror. this is only 1 hinge. anyway who races with a passenger and window rolled down? someone who REALLY had an M3 wouldnt do such a thing. An M3 owner is typically a performance freak and doing such a thing would bother him. what a shamefully fake video..
well mate, obviously this is an e46 m3 aint it? and someone who really had an m3 wouldnt race with the windows down? well, you dont know most m3 drivers, geeza. hes not exactly at a drag strip trying to shave 0.1 seconds off his quarter mile time is he?
335i > e46 M3. All day. I own a 335xi and its not even fair, but rest easy M3 fans, wait till the 08' M3 come rolling thru. Either way we BMW owners should be working together not fighting!! BMW ALL DAY
right, its just the high altitude because turbos retain their power better with high altitude, na's dont. at coastal altitudes the m3 would be pulling away
Well we didn't really make the videos for you people. WE in JOHANNESBURG live at 5500ft altitude, so it's relevant to us. We don't what is faster at sea level, we live 1700m above sea level. Sheesh.
something wrong here... m3 should win by a tad... its got less torque but more power and less weight... so houldve juuuust won... but i suppose more the more refined 335 loses less power b/w the engine and the rear wheels.
Stock vs stock will be very very close. Driver's car. However, 335i can be easily moded. 5k can get 335i with close performance to M5. People are getting 340-350 whp and 380 wtq with precede v2 ($1600).
E46 M3 costs over 15k to get turbo. My friend spent almost 10k for 20hp?
No question that M3 handle better. However, how much people need to spend to get 335i handle like M3? Way below M3 price tag.
not when its an e46, 2001 m3's are about 20-25 thousand bucks cheaper to buy that 2007-8-9 335i's. make sure that math checks out before you comment yo
LOL. Look people... thats at 5500ft ELEVATION!! HAHA. What a dumb comparison. Turbo's and Forced Induced cars have a HUGE advantage at higher elevation than NA cars like the M3. Bring it down to sea elevation and you'll see the M3 walk away from the 335i.
M3 owners must be pissed!!! I would still opt for an M3 for all around performance. Just cant afford one. I ordered a 335i sedan due for delivery on 7/3. Im an Audi guy but just want to see what I can do to this Bimmer.
Nop! The M3 sounds is standard sound! I have an M3 and this is the real (stock) sound for the car! The 335 is faster than the 330 or 328, but NEVER than the M3. M3 is M3 and period!
dass kann nicht sein
der 335 ist getunt!!!! Du kansst kein m3 mit 335 vergleichen !

Bushkinboy 3 years ago
m3 would destroy it... alfas are not bad cos i know some one with a 156 but m3 are in a way quicker league

Wrong. I have both. At coastal altitudes E46 M3 wipes the floor with a stock 335i.

Correct- I have both too. Best times with E46 M3 I have gotten are 13.4 qtr. I got 13.2 with the 335.
