  • Screw you, Greenland! XD

  • "No chaps without pants...Mike." And damn you, Servo!

  • nuCLEAR!!!! Prof. Bobo should know better, I say.

  • Please call the gas company before digging!

  • Seriously...

    Who could dislike this?

  • @ConspiracyCult It's only one of the greatest shows to ever air on television...

  • It's truly amazing how much of this movie is padding. Not only do we meander around on a map for 3 freaking minutes, without even rolling the credits, we then get a documentary on building the Distant Early Warning system, and THEN it's a big mystery about what destroyed that stupid Quonset hut, despite the movie being CALLED the DEADLY MANTIS!

  • @GoblinXXX Usually, I blame the cost of special effects, but in this case, the special effects are a marionette. What's so freaking expensive about it?

  • @Tareltonlives Look at the attack on the Eskimo village scene-- We could have had a half dozen of those and had the tell us about jets being destroyed by the mantis for the cost of all this farting around-- And it's not like it's developing any of the characters or anything!

  • Man, that overgrown mantid would make a great fishing lure!

  • SCREW YOU GREENLAND!

  • "Because of volcanic activity, a creature named Santa Clause crawled out of the ice." XD

  • why dont u have a seat Mr. Relson

  • What are they doing in 3955?

  • No Chaps without pants....Mike.

  • Hey! That's the old "National Geographic presents..." theme music Crow's singing at the end of the clip!

Man, now that takes me back...

  • @Capng123 I knew I wasn't the only person who got the reference!

  • Mike: Oh, my goodness, they're messing around with a thermal nuclear device!

Crow: Yeah, and they're supposed to be sending us the movie!

  • "Bomb will detonate but people aren't dying."

(I don't think I'd ever noticed that in the troubleshooting section.)

  • @ChaoticYak You must not have ever had a Gateway.

  • @GoblinXXX Nope. No Gateway. :D

  • Awesome, a Beneath the Planet of The Apes reference.

  • My favorite part is still Pearl's "OH CRAP" look after seeing an armed warhead right in front of her. :D

  • Only MST3K could show just how absurd the ending of Beneath the Planet of the Apes was. Even though I still enjoy watching that film now and then.

  • 5:22 That's what I think after watching that video Mike made famous with his tweet.

  • Haha, I love how the camera consistently failed at finding where on the map things were happening. That was amazing.

  • @Econniff It reminds me of my local newscast. - LOL

(I could not resist that one)

  • "I don't go to the bathroom without a work order." ROFL

  • @ 8:20 they use the same great Menards reference they used in "Giant Spider Invasion"

"It's a Giant Spider Invasion of savings at Menards!"

@ 9:20 "They really had no idea what this movie was about did they" hahaha

Only 2 TV shows were better than this, Andy griffith Show & Twilight Zone. Still, being #3 is awesome!

  • The show kinda lost its way when it went to SciFi, they required "scripts" and "plots". Odd how most of the movies they flame don't seem to have them, but they are forced to by "suits" who don't get it.

  • @Zoomer30 I agree, it was still better than 99% of the crap on TV (how hard was that?), but I missed the goofiness of the early years.

  • Somebody dropped a joint on the map. lmao

  • @anemicroyaltea69 Check out "Laserblast" lots of herb references in that one, cheers!

  • OMG. I would pay so much money to see Mike in chaps with no pants.

  • @alexanderteachernyc Is that with or without the open-toed spike heels and sheer camisole?

  • @guysmiley00 I was thinking more of motorcycle boots and a leather harness. But I'll take your version too.

  • "Oh 'Dot!' I've always wanted to go there."

"Please call the gas company before digging."

  • love MST3K but a single thermal nuclear bomb would not destroy the earth

  • @Azrael666Azazel did you get the part about relaxing?

  • @pretorious700 i know thinking too hard about it lol

  • Because of volcanic activity, a creature named Santa Claus crawled out of the ice.

  • The holy and everlasting bomb...

  • i just liked this video on stumble upon, and when it asked me what category it fell under, i selected classic films

  • I like that Bobo and Peanut are having a beer after fixing the bomb.

  • Nooo!!! They killed Howard!!!!

  • Warp speed, and.....engage....

  • Gypsy: Am I done?

Crow: Yeah, you can knock off for the day.

  • Tom: Ask them what they're wearing

Mike: No... no... I'm not gonna do that.

  • Wait at 5:16, did the Ape just call Nelson "Nels-feratu"?"

  • @imlaughing2death Yes, yes he did

  • Lol stockholm syndrome since the crew didn't know Pearl or her companion(s) would survive and yet still rushed inside the movie room.

  • @Gjkl345

More like Pavlovian response. They hear the buzzer and they go running.

  • @Gjkl345 Well, there's a bigger reason. The oxygen is cut from the SOL when movie sign goes and so if Mike didn't get into the theater, he'd die. The bots are just nice and go with him. :)

  • @ChaoticYak well also if mike died they wouldn't have anyone to hang out with

  • 0:20 - Everytime I watch these particular credits, I can't help but wonder, what exactly is that explodes around Pearl as she shoves the Earth model in her purse?

  • @emilygracey Never thought of it but upon closer observation I believe it's whatever was used to make the surface of the earth on the balloon exploding off as she squashes it.

  • I feel a disturbance as if a million monkeys were crying out all at once...then they were silenced!

Don't soak your map in nitro glycerine!

With every action...there is a Jackson!

    SCREW YOU GREENLAND!!

Here in the frosty mines of Canada...the slaves of Betty Crocker worker around the clock!

  • Oh. Dot. I've always wanted to go there.

  • The holy and everlasting bomb!

  • "Somebody dropped a joint on the map"

"Its a magma flow of savings at MENARDS!"

I love the Menards references by the guys. I hate that store so much because my dad is ALWAYS going there because of the rebates.

  • ...Wait. If all the humans died out before monkeys became supreme rulers...why were there humans worshipping the wonderful holy bomb?

  • @ExclusiveCheese It's a referece to the second Planet of the Apes movie. In "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" and "Battle For the Planet of the Apes", there were a splinter group of humans who survived the atomic holocaust that destroyed humanity and allowed apes to take over.

The humans were mutated by the fallout and hid underground from the apes, worshipping a bomb that would act as their trump card should the apes try and come for them.

  • @ExclusiveCheese @ExclusiveCheese they were aliens i believe. Aliens from another planet who dressed in milquetoast robes who looked eerily like Bill, Beez, and Pat Brantsig. :D

  • @ExclusiveCheese

here's a better question-if humans are a degraded species and "apes rule" -why do they worship Pearl -a human-as "the lawgiver"?

  • @trapadoored

    Pearl is not human. >_>

  • @ArcaneOmen2041 I KNEW it!! XD

  • @trapadoored um....the show clearly says don't worry and realx

  • The earth's pores are opening like mad!

Yeah the other planets refer to the earth as old pizza face.

  • (a volcano erupts)

"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction"

Servo: "In Paraguay, a woman shops. Connection?"

I hope I'm not the only one who got that

  • There is a Jackson...

  • They did a great job reproducing the mutant's robes from BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES.

  • The only other old fart that's even remotely as irritating as the old guy from the Menards ads is Jake Jabs from American Furniture Warehouse.

But he does get to play with big cats...

"Ya know what? Screw you, Greenland!"

  • "For every action..."

    "There is a Jackson!"

    "Eh, screw you, Greenland!"

  • It's a magma flow of saving at MENARDS!

  • "I feel...a disturbance, as though a million monkeys cried out at once...and then were silenced!"

  • the thing i enjoy about the mst3k comments is that they seldom sink to the usual ad hominem bs you see on youtube

  • omg they said nova scotia thats where I'm from lol

  • @Gomess I'm responding because I'm noticing a few adverse reactions to this comment. It's nothing bad, doods. Bill said this himself in an interview I'd read (years ago). Once he got comfortable, Bill's voice became more natural and he became much better at the puppeteering. And I agree, the Kevin of earlier episodes is close to Josh's. No harm intended--Gomess is right. :)

  • "The world is closed due to massive amounts of snow!"

  • The camera is all over the map! Where the hell are we GOING??

  • Seconds are a lot longer than I thought they were.

  • Not only are MST3K'S jokes funny, but their voices are perfect for the setup. Sometimes I get so annoyed because I repeat a joke to my friends, and it just doesn't come out or sound right. :(

Mike and the bots are the perfect package. :-D

  • Me too! I just about choked when I heard that line. That's from the old Loretta Lynn Shake & Bake commercials, isn't it? "It's Shake & Bake, daddy! And we helped!" Too bad we can't hear the strong accents they had in those commercials, just for the full painful effect of it.

  • o a dot! ive always wanted to go there.

  • "For every action"

    There is a Jackson!

  • haha

"sum1 dropped a joint on the map"

  • Actually Pearl explained in 8x01 that yes, she tried raising Dr. F a second time as he was turned into a space baby (via 2001 odyssey) so she might raise him to turn out better but...apparently he turns out just like he did before (thus a failure) so she suffocates him. She then vows to hunt the SOL to the ends of the earth (i recall she even says it's to avenge him), as it was her son's wishes..(as i'm sure was killing him...), so she carries on his legacy

  • And yes, I really get a kick out of all the specifically midwest Quad Cities (strangely Bettendorf mentioned but not Davenport...)refs , as I grew up there. Seriously, season 7 had I think one ref per movie...

  • Warp speed, and........... engage.

  • When in the Universe, make sure to visit the beautiful United States!

  • you know what screw you greenland

  • Wow, they went and destroyed the earth!

  • I felt... a disturbance... as though a million monkeys cried out at once... and then were silenced...

  • I'm wondering, was there any in-show reason given who Doc. forester and TV's Frank were replaced by Pearl?

  • pearl is dr. forrester's mom, she came to stay with him during season 7, then he died and turned into a baby...i guess she didn't parent him any better the 2nd time around, then she shows up in season 8 ruling the monkeys. It..doesn't really make any sense...

  • "If you're wondering how he eats and breaths, and other science facts, just repeat to yourself it's just a show, I should really just relax"

I don't think anything on here is supposed to make sense.

  • and i think they were also like forced by sci fi to try and make more of a a "story" when it wasn't really needed. They should have just left it "he's in space and has to watch bad movies"

  • Actually, specifically, she takes over as the main villain right after Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, enraged that Mike and the bots for getting her son sent to Metalluna. She vows revenge and chases them across the universe, beaming them one bad movie after another.

So yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense. The show is pretty much an excuse to tell jokes. :) Which is how I like it.

  • OH that makes me feel better I thought Dr. F had really bought the farm(though I had no Idea how)

but he did turn into a baby right? It's possible I could have imagined a lot of what happened on this show!

  • Yes, he did in fact get turned into a baby. THe episode you're thinking of is Laserblast, which is also here on Youtube. I was pretty confused too, because I'd seen the movie but not that episode. o_@

  • The actor who betrayed them decided to leave the show.

  • Comment removed

  • Joel escaped in an old esacpe pod and Mike was sent up to replace him in the experiments.

Frank left for second banana heaven. Forrester's mother, Pearl, moved in with him.

SOL eventually gained control of their ship and went to the edge of the universe where they became pure energy. Forrester did a 2001 and became a space baby.

The next season (8), started with SOL coming back from pure energy at some distant point in the future to find Pearl had survived as well.

  • LOOL!

It's the future holy hand gernade!

  • someone droped a joint on the map

  • Oh dot! Always've wanted to go there..

  • "Its a magma flow of savings at Menards!"

Love all the northerner jokes they do. But that's a good one. That guy in those adds is irritatingly perky for an old fart.

  • Love the Planet of the Apes reference

  • Don't soak your map in nitroglycerin...

  • This episode is worth watching.

  • Aren't they all??

  • "You wanna keep it down?! I'm tryin' to fix yer bomb here!!"

  • "Am I done now?"

"Yeah, you can knock of for the day."

  • "For every action-"

    "There IS a Jackson."

  • I love the MST3K staff Church of the Bomb XD

  • So is Cambot the only one who uses the many doors from the door sequence? Because Mike and the Bots always come in from the right, whereas Cambot stays in a straight line, so you know they're not just following him. I know it is said in the opening song "Repeat to yourself, 'It's just a show I should really just relax'.", but it's always kind of bothered me...

  • In the "Joel" episodes, there's a chute on the right side of the host segment set that Joel jumps down in several episodes during movie signs. Since the Joel era, the chute was no longer used as the access to the theater but more as a means to jettison things into space (See Laserblast.) MST3k the Movie showed Mike and the bots strolling through a hallway from the theater, so it's assumed there's an off screen access. Hope that helps, now you really can just relax.

  • I cannot beleive you refered me to Laser Blast (I've made it through that hunk of garbage already), are you talking about how he launched the bots for the space baby diaper change?

  • Yeah, as well as launching MONAD out of the ship.

  • MONAD?

  • you can't remember that host segment? IMPERFECT! IMPERFECT!!!

  • :*(

  • Love the refs to Star Wars and Underneath the Planet of the Apes

  • i don't go to the john with out a work order

i think crow should have yelled out. OK WHERE

    THE HELL IS CARMEN SANDIEGO

  • Comment removed

  • Didn't they make fun of Creature from the Black Lagoon too?

  • No, but they did riff its sequel, "Revenge of the Creature".

  • Well, the title makes it sound wonderful, but I'm going to guess it wasn't a quality piece of cinema, was it?

  • Well, the title, as Crow said, should have been "The disorganized, short-lived, badly botched and thoroughly ineffectual Revenge of the Creature!"

  • Or, 'The DSL, BBATIR of the Creature' for short, I suppose.

  • Why the Dymaxion refernce?

  • Fun fact

William Alland, who wrote this sweet gem of a movie, played the reporter in Citizen Kane. So this movie has a direct link to Citizen Kane. Awesome.

  • nice chanting over there

  • "...a creature named Santa Claus crawled out of the ice!"

  • I remember the Menards guy. He was always frighteningly perky.

  • Almost as disturbing as the Murray's guy

  • Man, I wanna go out on the town with Mike, especially when he's dressed like that! ;)

  • As if a million monkeys cried out..

  • and were silenced!

  • Yes. This is unimaginably horrible.

    Yes. The Earth is... destroyed...

  • "Its a magma flow of savings at Menards!"

I LOVE the Menards jokes. And any refts to Pumida.

  • Think anyone outside the Midwest gets the Menards jokes?

  • ^^ i do - so if they don't - at least WE do, and so that makes us special :P

  • Understanding jokes on this show is one of the benefits of living there.

  • I didn't know what Menards was, but I figured it was a store. As suc I laughed. Mom was from Michigan so she gets the jokes.

  • Menards can be found from Wisconsin to Michigan. Mike is from Wisconsin, so I am sure that he goes to Menards.

  • And Minnesota...

  • @rainbowsandwar

    And South Dakota.

  • Indiana, too, even the tv and radio commercials.

  • you have no idea how much my (life-time Bostonian) MST3K-joke-getting has improved since I started dating a Minnesotan.

I call her up regularly to ask "What's Menards, what's hardware hank? Etc."

  • "Oh, Dot. I've always wanted to go there."

For every action . . . "There is a Jackson."

  • Mike as Peanut the ape cracks me up every time.

  • I know me too! XD To bad we don't get to see more of Mike as Peanut, it's so priceless. lol (love how it ends with Peanut though wow. LOL The weird web-like circle of life time and space continues.)

But so glad Kevin got to be Professor Bobo for the rest of the series, SO epic! =D Kevin is just as awesome at Bobo as he is at Servo. X3

Now we just need Brain guy and the cast will be complete. <3

  • best show ever!

  • "a rather useless mall-map"

  • Man, I miss this show...one of the most clever, inventive and HILARIOUS things ever put on TV...'No toeless shoes or sandals...MIKE!'

    K

  • The map you're about to see is true!

  • I saw this on AMC once. It's actually a pretty good B movie.

  • So Al Gore produced this movie?

  • "for every action...there is a jackson..."

    lol

  • I love it when Crow sings the National Geographic theme.

  • "You know what, screw you Greenland"

  • Crow:"I...sensed a disturbance...as if a million monkeys cried out at once...and then were silenced."

Wow, I didn't know Crow could get so dramatic, bravo!

  • nice tribute to Alec Guinness' classic line as obi-wan

  • "Oh...so we're not going to Greenland."

  • 6:43 LOL

  • That's so funny they try desperately to make sense of the map and where they are going to end up.

  • I love dot! dot is nice this time of year

    annocer: for every action

    Mike: There is a jackson

    Me: An Andrew Jackson
