The Lady of the Refrigerator is Carolyn O'Neil, a real dietitian, but not his wife. His wife's name is DeAnna, who while being co-executive producer of the show has never appeared on Good Eats herself. Yet.
Salt peter is also used in commercial cigarettes, which is why they keep burning while rolled tobacco does. Consuming excessive ammounts of salt peter..while not as important in cured meats..it has a big cause in cancer from smoking a pack of cigs a day.
Corned beef is from England, everyone knows that.
