that happens on the independant rear suspension. if its for comfort driving. when you lightly press the brakes the rear end will want to slip like that. that happened to me. but I was just over 90 mph on a mild corner. tighten up the rear end. ask to get it looked at so you can have a much tight suspension for that car. is all I can say. its one snakie ride on that corner you had. glad you made it.

@richiefrost You clearly don't understand suspension design. IRS was developed for track cars for BETTER handling and grip than solid axles. Anyway, this incident has nothing to do with suspension. To me it looks like the driver was going far too fast. He was on the limit of his grip and as he passed over the white line he lost enough grip to nearly spin out. Painted lines have almost no grip - this happens more often than you would think.

I speak from what I had been through. if you want to be in to specs on the IRS. its no problem now a days all one has to do is google it. then buy one an learn whats its limits are. is the next best thing. Over the years I've driven a wide range of cars covering almost all suspension systems possible, and apart from rear swing axles (which can be dangerous) I've found most IRS rear ends are better than beams or live axles. This guy is driving an Audi, who have been building high performance front drive IRS cars for years, so I don't think its the design. I think the guy just drives too fast. Look how he races away again after checking the wheel!

One word -body roll, since your car was not lowered, all of the weight was put on the left side of the car, leaving the right side of the car unweighted and slightly being pulled upward. and since you were on positive throttle it caused the rear right wheel to spin faster than the rear left wheel which made the car pull inward into the curb. I hate to say this, but this kind of thing is almost general knowledge, I am kinda surprised you would not come to this same conclusion.

1.may have run flat tires.if it was punctured,depending on the tire,could cause loss of control especially in a curve.

2.Could be oil or other build up on the road we can't see,Since its an Audi,he may have a LP tire which doesn't hold traction as well as a standard tire.Hence why LP tires are called Show tires.

3.Dependin on road angle,can't see it here cuz of the cam.Speed w/ road angle could cause car to spin.Not sure the type of Audi,if its a RWD,the rear is easier to lose at higher speeds.

First of all, look at the weight of the car transfer outwards, THEN the car lost grip. That would indicate one of the tyres running flat or over an oil slick.

Secondly, the driver caught it way too late. He should've noticed earlier that his car was turning to the inside more than he was steering for. Nice on the lucky save though.
