It would be wonderful if they expanded the gameplay, especially in a coop sense. I could have a four man AC Team forward with ID from the atry ACs and those VTOLs providing air recon and CAS, all in coop. Give me player infantry and I'm in arcade mech game heaven.
I want this game. I started way back with Armored Core: Master of Arena, on the Playstation, and later played AC2: Another Age, and AC3. These are the ones i like, from which I played. I'm looking forward to Armored Core V, and will definitely get it! Full Metal Panic! Style.
Please for the love of god let this be the AC game that makes me care. Give me environments worth looking at, not bland flat wastelands, give me a streamlined customization system that actually explains itself.
And please, please, please make the combat exciting. I'm tired of sniping dots in the distance. I put so much time into making my mechs only to see it stand around looking useless. Make the battles more involving and drawn out. 4 and For Answer felt like I was playing a time trial.
AC trailers always blow me away. It's just a bit disappointing that the in-game look and immersion is always lacking. Still gonna add this game to my AC library...
I am not a fan of using real footage. The clip of the rounds being fed into the minigun wasn't good- looking or even CGI. I am pretty sure that was a real minigun being filmed and the video was put on youtube a few years ago.
Also be aware that this is a trailer so of course they want it to look good. You didn't see people bitching about the trailers for games like battlefield or skyrim. They put a ton of graphical effort in it so it will catch the eye this dosent mean the entire game is gonna be michealbaysplosion. Either way I can't wait for it

@AmateurD0C true, games like MW3 And BF3 can be fun but they are really over hyped and people just want more and more realism, (Meaning graphics of course, they would all freak out if anything else was made completely realistic) but when you find a game with a story that just draws you into it, you want to keep playing and at the end you are either very satisfied or want much more (for example i just finished Shadow of the Colossus for the ps2 and am really wishing for a sequel)

Graphics do that for some people, but I make comments on a "good game" by it's game mechanics and story. I feel graphics are too heavily focused on nowadays.

I wonder if this will be any good. I played the demo of AC4 and based on that I didn't even remotely want to buy it, even though I have every UK-released Armored Core game to date (not PSP crap). I suppose I will have to wait for the demo for this. Also I hope they have a classic control option where L2 and R2 are for looking up and down, not make us use dual-stick nonsense.

@Izula My reply's point was that the game doesn't matter, it's the engine. BF3 isn't only game using that engine, frostbite 2 was just debuted w/ BF3.
They were really hitting their stride with the AC4 system in For Answerer, I am not sure a new direction was needed, maybe just a graphics update and some balancing issues.
@sortedevaras no they killed the gameplay engine on ac4 and for answer, i guess it's test for the quick boost and stuff... hopefully less quick boost and i'm pretty sure more tactics involve...
Dude, am I watching a trailer for Armored Core or Chromehounds? I love this new direction they're taking, especially with the tactical combat (I was a huge fan of Chromehounds, damn you Sega!) and more modern-looking ACs. It's a perfect blend, aesthetically speaking, of both games.
@DarkPolarity G - Savior was an American movie set in the Mobile Suit universe it wasn't exactly the best thing in the world but it's American hehe, on a side note the general reason for a lack of mecha films is that there's a taboo on anything where the actors faces are blocked from camera sights which a mecha film would definantly call for, s'posedly it's the reason why Avatar has glass window cockpits and Starship Troopers used Infantry instead of Power armor like the book does

I wonder if this will be any good. I played the demo of AC4 and based on that I didn't even remotely want to buy it, even though I have every UK-released Armored Core game to date (not PSP crap). I suppose I will have to wait for the demo for this. Also I hope they have a classic control option where L2 and R2 are for looking up and down, not make us use dual-stick nonsense.

@davidjericho95 thats not what it is its going to be, its going to rely on more tactical warfaree instead of just the person with the most powerful gun is the winner and is going to be more focusing on teams its different than other armored cores and also the mechs will not be 9 in they will like 5 in. like the classic armored cores.

look, b4 the transformers movies were ever a twinkle in Michael "SPLOSIONS!!!!!" Bay's eyes, there was armored core. no one ever said armored core was a rip off of the transformer cartoons, so why the hell r ppl saying it now? looks more like what terminator salvation should of been, imo. stupid McG....

They were really hitting their stride with the AC4 system in For Answerer, I am not sure a new direction was needed, maybe just a graphics update and some balancing issues.

@sortedevaras no they killed the gameplay engine on ac4 and for answer, i guess it's test for the quick boost and stuff... hopefully less quick boost and i'm pretty sure more tactics involve...

Dude, am I watching a trailer for Armored Core or Chromehounds? I love this new direction they're taking, especially with the tactical combat (I was a huge fan of Chromehounds, damn you Sega!) and more modern-looking ACs. It's a perfect blend, aesthetically speaking, of both games.

@DarkPolarity G - Savior was an American movie set in the Mobile Suit universe it wasn't exactly the best thing in the world but it's American hehe, on a side note the general reason for a lack of mecha films is that there's a taboo on anything where the actors faces are blocked from camera sights which a mecha film would definantly call for, s'posedly it's the reason why Avatar has glass window cockpits and Starship Troopers used Infantry instead of Power armor like the book does

Most or all of the weapons on this video are bigger and inproved scale of modern weapons.
Comes to say they do there homework before making a trailer, guess they want to make it look as real as possible, still cant belove that im watching a game trailer but this looks like a movie.
