This afternoon, Friday the 13th I heard Mason Bates' B-Sides with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ricardo Muti. It was visceral and beautiful. How long will it take to get a complete recording? I was so impressed.

@rkap242 YES! I saw it on the 12th. It was riveting! I actually teared up a bit! Yo-Yo Ma was amazing to watch as well! Such a wonderful surprise getting to witness that program!

Was privileged enough to witness Ricardo Muti conduct the rehearsal for the Chicago Symphony today, and this piece was phenomenal. Absolutely amazing. And a fun side note, Yo Yo Ma is a very comical, colorful character :D
