Sorry if this has already been asked but what elastic band are you using for the exercises, the black/red one and the blue one?
I'm 5 months post op after 2 shoulder operations (laterjet and an arothoscopy) , your exerices look great and like they are really challenging progressions. Great scapula control, I hope one day to be able to have the same!
Hey i have to do exercises to help my scapula where i squeeze my shoulder blades together and raise my arms from different psoitions. I also have to squeeze my scapula and hold for 30 seconds. When doing these, should i try to squeeze my scapula together as much as possible as if i was trying to hold a pencil? Thanks.
@portaldo Is it okay if I use a single strap elastic band with the Scapula Push Ups?
Also, can I do this routine and also your should ROM routine without warming up first (like running or jumping rope)? I wouldn't like to hurt my joints =/
I have been using this routine and your scapular stability routine as part of a warm-up for my handbalancing - I like them very much. Thank you for sharing. Just one question, have you ever thought about posting a video of a general warmup/mobility drills? Perhaps the movements you feel are the most critical? I think some beginners (including myself) could benefit from it.
@portaldo What are the blue bands you use if they are not Thera Band tubing, please? I just tried the Blue (Extra Heavy) Thera Bands and they were far too stretchy. They are fine for the dislocates and inlocates but not for the overhead straight arm pull down. I'm considering whether to buy the Black (Special Heavy) or the top Silver (Super Heavy) Thera Band tubing but yours looks better.
Thank you very much for posting this. I recently injured my labrum, probably while doing some rotations in/out of bridge that I didn't perform/build up to properly. I've seen a lot of stuff about "packing the shoulder" on the net. Do you do these excercises conciously keeping your scapula low? (I can see that you give it full range medial/lateral). Great videos, thanks again.
Hey Ido, do you know about Thera Bands? do they work for this routine?. I have recently ripped my scapular muscles... i'm about 4 weeks without exercises, and these bands are the only ones in the market available round here in Peru.
I'm fine by now: no pain, but no trainning for a while.
@abcpabcp Thera Bands may be good, but test them first and make sure you get enough tension out of them. For me, even the stronger ones are a bit too easy, but it may be suitable for you. Quick and painless recovery to you, my friend.
Você ficou assim só treinando capoeira e com exercicios de elastico ou fez exercicios com pesos também? Pq senão começo com capoeira hoje mesmo..hehe. Academia pra mim é algo muito frustrante...pouco dinâmico.
Awesome. I've noticed that in the week since I've started regularly working my rotator cuff muscles, my muscleups have gone from painful to painless, I have more power, and I can almost do slow muscleups on a straight bar. Pretty exciting! I can't wait to see what improvements come with this scapular mobilization! This will really help my voyage into the world of floreio. Thanks again, Ido!
Very well detailed. I need to get my shoulders flexbility and mobilty back on par after years of neglecting it(too much internal rotator work). Looking forward to future vids!!!
Yuv, actualy I did not learn them from any gymnastics coach, but from some old school, traditional exercise trainers. Cable and heavy duty elastics has been used by physical culturists for some time now.
should you do these before any upperbody routine or just when doing alot of handstands?

what's the difference of the functions between Rhomboid Major/minor and Mid Trapezius?

Your scap definition let me better understand how they rotate when the arms go overhead, it's hard to get without seeing them in motion like that.
