You should see _some_ of the "sophisticated" muslims here in youtube, and what they say about the things we LIKE about our culture. Mind you these are the moderate muslims, and you wouldn't belive their contempt for women. And their holy book clearly says, there can be no peace untill evryone is muslim in the world.

Keep in mind there is NO separation of curch and state, Islam IS the state there.

Orwell did not "fail", he gave us a clear picture of modern Authoritarianism. I would say Hitchen's "failure" is to seek to attack other countries while failing to try to fix any faults that we have (Tony Blair syndrome).

Using that standard, no country would be able to attack another under any circumstances. Britian couldn't've declared war on Germany in WW II

This seems to be the point you try to get across:

That because we're not perfect we shouldn't try to fix the most obvious flaws of others that are harmful to them and ourselves.

That would be like deciding that if you find a medicine that's really good, but really expensive you shouldn't give it to the people that can afford it untill it's cheap enough for evryone to afford it.

Yeah, there's room for improvement in our society, but we're not in the same league, not by a long shot.

There is a difference between being Wise and Strong, and being a Belligerent Neocon. Hitler was a threat, but they had also been so beaten in WWI they were desperate for a change. Today's terrorist leaders are pissed at the CIA & Oil COmpanies for screwing them worse than us. We fund them until its not convenient anymore. Hitchens is the British Rove, not even close to Orwell.

How can you explain then, that they blow up busses in the UK targeted directly toward women and their "imorality".

or encouraging the behading of jews with no particular reason other than they think jews are worse than the devil?

They hate women, and they hate our women even more because they truly belive they are inferior to men and that we shouldn't allow them to "dress like whores". (as if men had a say on what women do.)
