  • Your vid is popular on Bangladesh

  • soo... what the hell happened to ridley at the end... exploded meaning of dead? n i ithought i killed it in prime... but some how still manages to come back... i wonder how did it appears in other M after exploding... it isnt a metroid game w/o a ridley fight (few exceptions.. MP2...)

  • @iisaaaaa MP2E and RoS are the only Metroid games without a Ridley battle.

And Ridley's next appearance isn't at the Bottle Ship, it is at Zebes in SM. Yes, the fucker has been revived 6 (Mecha Ridley, Meta Ridley, Omega Ridley, SMRidley, OMRidley, RidleyX) times in the series; and four before Samus found his 5th clone at the Bottle Ship, that's the reason we all hate Samus' portrayal in Other M, scared like a bitch of a thing that has already revived four other times.

  • OMG-A-Ridley!

  • What do people have against Other M?

  • @TGamer43 The game itself is fine, but many people dislike the story, which consists of long cutscenes in which Samus waffles alot, and worst of all she does not use certain equipment in her suit because she's ordered not to (and in some cases its utterly ridiculous), which does not fit her character at all. Samus is portrayed as submissive and wimpy, which makes no sense. Its the equivalent of Halo 4 opening with a scene in which Master Chief says "My favourite colour is pink".

  • Comment removed

  • @TGamer43 Well, there's the character portrayal, which made Samus into a whiny, traumatized bitch with a huge electra complex, leaving her in an OoC state that is just impossible to overlook and transforming some "gruff C.O. I once served under" into a god.

Then there's the constant inconsistencies with previous (Prime Saga) and future (Fusion) events. In fact, Other M seems to be trying incredibly hard to completely ignore and deny everything that ever happened in Prime.

  • @kztar621 Its true that Other M makes no mention of any of her Prime adventures, despite the fact that the creator of Metroid (and director of Other M) has stated that the Prime series is canon.

However, when you think about it, there is TECHNICALLY no reason to mention the Prime series:

Other M's story's main focus is on Mother Brain and the Baby Metroid, neither which made in appearance in the Primes, so why bring it up? Strangely, this game doesn't even mention Zero Mission at all....

  • @elvampe13 the game didn't mention Zero Mission because Zero mission is a remake of the very first metroid game

  • @TGamer43 You are right.

Now that I think about it, all of the 2D Metroid games (plus Other M) revolve around either the Mother Brain (Metroid/Zero Mission), the Baby Metroid (Metroid 2, Fusion), or both (Super Metroid, Other M). The developers of the Prime games were wise to not touch those subjects in their games, or else they would have given the creator a reason to consider them non-canon...

  • I wonder who or what will be Samuses nemesis in the future...now that both the real one, the clone, the X and the robot are destroyed...

Would be awesome if there was the species of Ridley somewhere on a planet and then 10000000 ridleys vs 1 Samus...RIP Samus...O_o

Unless...she somehow manages to own that planet aswell and kills all those ridleys same time...Go Samus then...=(...poor birdies...

  • She should've just thrown a master ball at it.

  • Which Metroid game Is your favourite? I personally prefer the Wii version of the Prime Trilogy, and Other M. Thumbs up and leave a response please! :)

  • The advent of the Wii's control system has made missiles in this game all but pointless. I guess that's why this is the first one since Super Metroid that didn't have super missiles.

  • what an awesome namesake

  • @TheKillingJoke14 Maybe she wasn't traumatized yet?

  • I hate this c*nt so much.

  • @Hysteria98 why?

  • @gokuandmario4ever I don't remember.

  • @Hysteria98 Is it because of that thing he does where he flies off and hits you with bombs constantly?

  • @gokuandmario4ever No, I think it's because he just won't die.

  • ridley owns

  • In my opinions and experience the best and funnest boss battles of every Metroid Prime game are

    Metroid Prime: Meta Ridley

    Metroid Prime 2-Echoes: Chykka

    Metroid Prime 3-Corruption: Omega Rdiley

I love to battle those flying beasts and i like the idea of the grapple beam as a weapon.

  • Most people think that Ridley is a giant pteradactyl beasts they are dead wrong he is a dragon, and Kraid is a fat dragon, and Mother Brain is a retarded dragon. LOL

I wish sometimes that they would come up with a metroid game that would illustrate how Ridley and Kraid came to be in the first place and put Samus in it, like how they could have been bon on another planet and space pirates took control of them, then Samus crash lands on that planet and has to defeat alot of Ridley and Kraid fans

  • @TheKillingJoke14 Soooooooo fucking true. Other M ruined Samus as a character

  • @nintendoluigi Yeah but its still an all around good game.

  • @MrMetroid1998 gotta have both parts to make a complete game, first person ended up working well for the Metroid franchise, auto-targeting, fixed camera angles, and grappling takedown moves just don't jelly with the Metroid formula, you can't build a franchise for over 20 years and then change it on a dime...

  • @nintendoluigi As an unrealistic yet badass character, yes, they did ruin her. But you have to remember that Samus is human, not a cyborg, and with all that she's been through it's not unlikely to develop some kind of trauma.

  • @SLNoel I have no problem with changing this up game to game, its necessary, but you cant develop a character for 20 years to be one way and they change it up like that. for example, the metroid prime trilogy felt more like a metroid game than other m did...and the prime trilogy was developed by americans! that just seems odd to me.

  • @SLNoel I don't know if it ruined her, but it made me want to royally fuck her! She looked pretty freakin hot in Other M!

  • @yeshamandala2 She was already hot in the minds of many fans back in Super Metroid's ending (heck, even Metroid 2 and, to hardcore old school fans, NES ending).

  • Is it me, or do the bosses in this game just get easier? The first dude actually managed to kill me, but since then they are just pathetic. Atleast helios had some attacks I never figured out how to dodge, but this guy.. He doesn't do justice to Ridley fights..

  • Am I the only one who uses hyper missles more than anything on Omega Ridley?

  • this battle is a pain in the ASS on hypermode!

  • I beat this guy the other day. Epic boss. Though was a bit easy.

  • That wasn't easy! But difficult is cool! Nintendo shoudn't show things like this 0:32 =/ that makes Omega Ridley way easier...

  • @MCToffu Cuz nintendo made this game.

  • wow.. umm. weres kraid?

  • man meta ridley always buys new stuff samus gets new stuff

  • 0:22 If this was Other M, Samus would go into a hysterically over-dramatic and stupid flashback with Ridley owning her.

  • @KawaiiDesuNekoBCSK Maybe, but Samus was much younger at the time, and thought that Ridley was dead. She wasn't prepared to face him again on the Bottle Ship, and was caught off guard bu his sudden appearance. And let's admit, if Ridley existed in the real world, and tried to kill us, most of us would probably crap our pants

  • @MyGamer125 That was a year ago, friend. My opinion has changed quite a bit about that scene since then- I still don't like it, but for reasons I think are much more accurate.

If you only count the Metroid: Zero Mission manga, Metroid 2, Super Metroid, and Other M, the scene makes a lot more sense. After all, she had barely triumphed against Ridley with the help of Grey Voice. When she saw him again in Super Metroid, she was so terrified that she could only stun him at best initially.

  • @KawaiiDesuNekoBCSK When Zebes exploded, Samus assumed she was done with him for good. After seeing him come back yet again, she had a traumatic flashback that lasted for about a minute and a half and she was back in business.

It's still incredibly poorly written, but it makes a lot more sense if you view it through Sakamoto-vision.

  • you guys know that nintendo officially set the prime series apart from super metroid and metroid fusion. its now considered a sub series and not belonging or having anything to do with the original games.

  • @druha10304 Oh really?, and where the hell did you get that information?, can u give us a link to a nintendo official statement?

  • @luigocelo really? uh yeah.

  • @luigocelo

druha10304 may or may not be right. I found a two page article from Nintendo which show all the Metroid games placed chronologically. However, the creator of Metroid seems to distance himself from Prime for whatever reason.

I think that what the creator meant to say in his statements (which a lot of people interpret as him REJECTING the Prime series) is that Retro created their own story that doesnt affect the plot of the other games(which is true), but fits in the timeline though.

  • @elvampe13 Look I am sick and tired of your bullshit.

    right here

Metroid Prime Series (in order of in-game timeline):

The Metroid Prime series is a separate collection of games featuring Samus Aran which has a different concept and game design to Metroid games.

  • @druha10304 Aww, did i touch a nerve :)?

If theres anyone you should get mad at, its Nintendo for not making up their mind. Fusion's manual states Prime to be part of the series. Japan websites of several Metroid games seem to consider the Prime games as canon (check out Zero Mission's). Then there's the Nintendo article that I mentioned, which came out a month or two before Other M. And anyways, what makes you think he meant the prime series were non-canon by saying 'its a separate collection'?

  • @druha10304 By saying ''separate collection of games'', he meant it has its own story that doesnt touch elements from the old games. And btw, here is a statement made by SAKAMOTO himself, right here

Regarding “the Samuses”, it is a complicated question. Nearly everybody has asked about the Prime series, which are part of the Metroid timeline, but are completely different.

Know what that means? It means Retro and Sakamoto had envisioned their own Samuses, but the stories of the games are CANON.

  • @elvampe13 no, dude, no. prime is a "gaiden" series, it's a sidestory pretty much

    zero mission

    ---prime 1 + hunters

    ---prime 2

    ---prime 3

    return of samus

    super metroid

    other m

    metroid fusion

  • @Drunksonic I know its a sidestory, but its still, by canon, part of the Metroid timeline. It has its own story that mostly doesnt affect the other games (though some things shown in the Prime series explains/supports what happens in other games, for example, Zero Mission Mecha Ridley = prototype to Meta Ridley).

  • @elvampe13 yeah, it's there but hardly affects anything. it's just what happened to be shown in the wikipedia article that super metroid = metroid 3 and metroid prime is barely after metroid 1

  • @Drunksonic wait if Super Metroid is after Prime, then how come ridley is in his Original form in Super Metroid ?, it should've been Omega Ridley in super Metroid if so

  • @88Gojira Remember how Samus is cured from Phazon infection after Phaaze and Dark Samus are destroyed? Its logical to assume that the same applied to Omega Ridley: he returned to normal after Phazon was wiped out.

  • @elvampe13 Not to mention, the kill counter doesn't bump up and the camera focuses on Samus most of the time so it's assumed that Ridley may have gotten away.

  • @elvampe13 wouldnt that had been applied to rundas ghor and gandrayda as well

  • @jjnnerazor That did not apply to them cause Dark Samus killed them... she absorbed them remember?

  • @elvampe13 sorry I forgot that happy new year by the way

  • @jjnnerazor Happy new year!

  • @88Gojira Super Metroid was before the Metroid Prime series because Mother Brain was still alive. Ridley just blows up in this fight after he's beaten. In short, Ridley had his body modified/corrupted during this (and the first) MP games

  • @Keyblade544 Wait, are you saying that Super Metroid's events take place before Prime's events? Sorry if i didnt quite understand you.

  • @elvampe13 yes, i am. the ridley you see here is the same, just different. do you still need more help? im always happy to help people in any way tht i can. :)

  • @Keyblade544 But you're wrong. Metroid Prime 1, Hunters, 2 and 3 take place between Zero Mission and Metroid 2, which is all before Super Metroid.

  • @elvampe13 no, im right. in Metroid Prime 1, the Space Pirates were scattered after their defeat in Zero Mission. Super Metriod occurred BEFORE the MP series, because Ridley was STILL ALIVE, and so was Mother Brain.

  • @Keyblade544 theres more than one ridley. theyre like pokemon! lol also samus' ridley has been resurrected several times. and in the MP series mother brain doesnt even exist till MP3 when they first introduce the Aurora Units. yea thats mother brain before it becomes mother brain. the prime series actually takes place before the original Nes metroid. another thing the metroids were already accounted for and extinct in Super Metroid but their first chronoligical discovery is in MP1

  • @shiranuidragon the aurora units are based from mother brain and mother brain was created by the chozo oh and the prime series take place after the first metroid

  • @jjnnerazor now that i read this had u given me a chance i wud have prolly said "OH YEAH I REMEMBER MY BAD!" but since i read ur other comment first now ima say go play halo metroid sucks! jk

really sir or madam its not that serious. would u like to claim my life now or later?

  • @shiranuidragon why would I want to claim your life seriously calm down dude your taking this to serious and if your angry because of my last replies to you then I apologize

  • @shiranuidragon why would I want to claim your life seriously calm down dude your taking this to serious and if your angry because of my last replies to you then I apologize

  • @shiranuidragon Where are you getting these ideas? Nintendo has released several times in the past a chronological timeline of the series, showing the Prime series taking place between Zero Mission and Metroid 2. Go to gametrailers and search Metroid Retrospective, or go to this Japanese website of zero mission which contains a timeline of the series: metroid.jp/metroid_version2/history/index.html You really need to research a LITTLE more on the internet before stating false info...

  • @elvampe13 never said i was the ultimate source of info or that everyone shud flock to my page cuz i have all the answers. guess im sposed to be like ohhh im such a dumbass ima go hang myself cuz i got a few things mixed up. sorry i forgot to take my perfect pills this morning. really guys its not that serious. if ur afraid that im gonna "corrupt" people with my false info like (i.e.like wen everyone thought blanka=charlie) then i feel u i went thru that phase too

  • @shiranuidragon For some reason, the last link didnt work, so heres another one.

    h t t p ://metroid.jp/metroid_version2/history/index.html

And every Ridley that Samus has encountered in the games are the same, except for Other M's and Fusion's, which are clones/mimics.

  • @shiranuidragon oh and before you write any other stupid shit go to metroid.wikia.com

  • @jjnnerazor jeez u made an ass outta me merry xmas lemme guess u dont like people that get their facts wrong and feel people shud know their stuff before they talk right? i cud sure use a dose of perfect

but its really not that serious. not like i said u were wrong or anything gawd damn!

btw since u mention wikia ANYBODY can write those so unless u see Gumpei Yokoi or nintendo employee name there or something that says official source dont jump so fast again i do apologize for my stupidity

  • @Keyblade544 That's... not true ...

  • @luigocelo w w w . nintendoworldreport . com/interview/23982

Official statement from the creator of Metroid can be seen here where he says Prime series are canon.

  • @druha10304 I think you're wrong. Nintendo released a two page timeline which included all the Metroid games placed chronologically. I think what Nintendo meant in their statements, however, is that the Prime series has its own story which doesnt affect the original games' plot (which is true). Whether or not you play the prime games does not change the original games' plot.

  • 6 months after mp2

  • omega ridley is kinda dunkey, when he tries to get samus, he should just stop screaming and just bite her and eat her and kill her simples fast and secure...

  • @palkia555666 samus is 2 bad ass for that 2 happen

  • Samus: Not u again how many times have i killed u now?! D:<

    Ridley: Over 9000 ,_, didn't u miss me?

  • Nintendo needs to add Kraid in again

  • So... that's how he turned purple?

  • lmao ridley did 2 rasengans o.0 lol when i first played a metroid game (fusion) and when i saw ridley and destoyed it im like he'll be back haha and he was back in all my prime games lol i just want other m now, lol personally to me the most epic boss battle is in prime 3 is wen ridley dives down on u and brakes the glass floor and ur fighting him in mid air hehe

  • I can't wait to face this boss. Just need to wait for this game to come in the post.

Ridley is probably one of the most famous nintendo villains along with Bowser and Ganondorf of course.

  • What was that attack that Ridley did that made Samus raise her left hand, and go "Umfff" temporarily not letting her shoot?

  • Ridley's bones have got to be made of metal, due to them being light enough and strong enough to support him in the air and on the ground

  • Ridly roars at Samus

    Samus"Yo breath stank!"

  • Love how Ridley tries to bite Samus... I'm sure he's enjoying these fights as much as her.

  • Wii?

  • @Darklarik yes

  • samus is glad she has that mask, ridley breath must REEK if it's visable

  • OMG this fight is Hell on Hypermode. I died a bazillion times becausr of Ridley's Tail Whip and dash attacks. Lol. Oh and those bombs he spits when he flies. =P

  • man nintendo capcom and other companys are making remakes now have u heard about metroid other m it loooks freaking awsme and its a remake of the first metroid but mother brain dosent look alot like the first one except for the brain in the eye LOLZ

  • @AleXz971 No, other m comes after Super Metroid and is its own game. If you played Super Metroid you would see that they do look ALOT alike since in Super Metroid mother brain gets a body, she is seen in the Other M trailer destroying the metroid that saved Samus's life. Nintendo is still the main producer of Metroid Other M they just have Team Ninja involved.

  • Ridley died in MP2 when he read the news update about him getting replaced by Amorbis.

  • How come every time samus fights a leviathan boss, she fires that beam when the phazon ball thing hits the phazon in her body?

  • No wonder Ridley's so evil, he has such a small heart.

  • You feel so badass ripping Ridley's chest open and exposing his weak spot....

  • too easy.

  • this is so sad i mean ridley is dead now

  • look. how many times ridley died and came back? A lot of. I mean, he must be kinda immortal... immortal but not invincible XD

  • @SephyCyndi supposedly he can drain the life of those around him that are dead or alive according to the magna. However one thoery is that meta, omega ridley are the complete forms of meta ridley.

  • @Squirrels1012 Nope, this game comes before super metroid in which ridley is present. He can supposedly regenerate his body by draining the life of the dead around him, in this case the pirates proabably took his remains and saved him. However in the sequel super metroid he is completely organic. The theory is that meta and omega ridley are the complete version of the Ridley Robot from Zero Mission.

  • That cutscene in the beginning is why they need to make a Metroid movie. Hopefully CG animation.

  • @JBworld29 Always wondered what a Metroid movie would be about. Plot and action scenes wouldn't be a problem, the real problem is Samus. I don't want her to talk. I don't want her to constantly show her face. I would love to see a movie in which Samus spends 99% of the time inside her chozo armor suit.

  • @JBworld29 I personally don't think they should make movies about games... Ex. Resident Evil... Beyond horrible epic phails. Doom, Another Epic epic phail. I wouldn't want to see Samus and all the badasses like Ridley get ruined.

  • You only need to scan him once.

  • wrongo, the stratagy guide says you gotta scan him all four times to get 100% on your loggbook. :P

  • In hyper mode this fight is one of the most difficult battles in a metroid ever!

  • metroid prime 3: he appears on norian and later here in the finil leviathen core.

hes spaming his new heart to samus

mmmm the space pirats porble spent the last of there money on a ridley heart so they need to save up

  • okay heres how many times you have to kill him and where

    metroid nes:zebes times:1

super metroid snes: in deeps norfair times: 1

    metroid zero mssion:in ridley

and space pirat mother ship robotic but still counts

    kills)2

metroid fusion: ridley x apperces 2 but hes frozen the 1st and u kill him later

    so 1 kill

metroid prime) he appears alot but u kill him onces

metroid prime 2: he sits this one out because they had to give him some aspren and a heart trasneplant

  • im not exactly sure but i think in MP1 u didnt kill ridley and in Mp2 they were recovering him, and he apppears as Omega ridley in MP3

  • No, you face Meta Ridley in the vents. He's the second boss in MP3.

  • true

  • Technically, Zero Mission and NES are the same...

Which one is the official canon though? My bet is on Zero Mission.

  • They both are. Zero Mission is a expanded remake.

  • @agaifi

dude, they're the same game, zero mission is expanded with some delicious canon (it explains samus getting the 'legendary' power suit thru the Ruins Test)

  • LOL, Ridley just walks up to Samus and roars in her face. She's probably like "Personal space, dude!"

  • @Soundwave0107 XD Wow

  • When I first saw the intro of this boss I was like :

"WTF ??!! You'd better calm down, boy... Uh Ok no spoilers about its weak spot, isn't it ?"

    -_-'

  • Hey, one question, guys: This is Meta-Ridley from Tallon IV, totally corrupted with Phazon, right!? In Prime 1 you had to shoot the ribcage, too. And now I wonder if the pirates rescued Meta-Ridley after beeing defeated on Tallon IV. And, by the way: IS THIS Meta-Ridley HERE the original Ridley or is he a NEW clone?! His scan and the space pirates report don't give me any real facts.... And is the Norion-Meta-Ridley the same Ridley, or is he a new clone. He's much bigger, blue and organic.

  • well, the clone thing would explain how he survived being turned into phazon goo to turn up in Super Metroid. Although I see no evidence that Space pirates can clone (otherwise they wouldn't need test subjects for the elite pirates).

Still, makes more sense than him dying six times. Or maybe it's just the same species as Ridley?

  • no ridley is the leader of the pirates, that why he keeps coming back cuz he is their leader and they keep bringing him back

  • Yes, but how exactly DO they keep bringing him back? Seventy missles to the face isn't something you can take two asprin and a night of bedrest for

  • First, they use Phazon to revive him as Meta Ridley, then they upgrade him to Omega Ridley, then, when he dies, they rebuild him into Mecha Ridley. Then he gets frozen down.

  • no mecha ridley wanst a cyborg, he was a robot so they didnt rebuild hime and he became omega ridley by being exposed to the leviathan core

  • Robot Ridley =/= Mecha Ridley. But just to be sure. I'll look it up.

  • yeah i just read it said the space pirates started to rebuild him after he died in 0 mission.

    sorry for arguing with u

  • No problem.

  • except chronologically, the Prime games take place before Super Metroid

  • Yeah, I know. The Prime games happens right after Metroid/MZM.

  • if it were the same species, wouldn't it not have a clue about ridley's rival samus unless someone told him????

  • im not sure on what they do with ridley after his ass is kicked... they either clone him or revive him and go from there i honestly do not know i will look into it

  • yes they're the same, but the norion meta ridley is the same as omega. after the meta ridley battle on norion he went to the pirate homeworld. then he was drawn in by the leviathan to protect it and he was exposed to the phazon core and became corrupted

  • Almost true. It wasn't the seed jtself that corrupted him, it was the Pirates by using the seed. Just like they made the enchanted Space Pirates. I read about it in the Metroid Prime Lore about Space Pirate Log.

  • It was easy for me at the first part plus the shield but MAN I HATE IT WHEN HE FLIES!!

  • Ah, Ridley--the only boss who just forgoes the obligatory villain speech and taunting, and just goes straight for the kill.

  • Holy fuck.... how many times you need to beat the shit out of him before he just gives up?

(I wish he never gives up, he is such a great boss!!)

  • HOW DO FIRE SO FAST!!

  • easy, press the button fast

  • you can also fire faster with less effort by pressing the bottom edge of the A button.

  • i love this game so much i beat it and gonna play it agian and again! =D

  • i like these enemys who allways come back i dont know but i just like it.

  • how many more times will ridley come back?

he has died in almost every game!!!!!!!!!!

  • When Samus eats Ridley, thats when he is dead.

  • when and why would she do that? i mean really?

  • To kill him. If his DNA is in a pile of **** then I dont think he's coming back.

  • lol, unless the space pirates love ridley enough to dig through it and find on useable piece of undigested whatever.

  • They'd be like "HOLY SHIT!"

  • lmao

  • Ridley is actually Dracula in epic Bat Dragon Form.

  • he will always return. he's a classic Metroid villan. he's one of those guys that makes Metroid what it is

  • the only game that ridley isn't in is metroid 2 =\

  • and prime 2

  • lol what difficulty was it on i did it on vetran and it was quite more of a challenge compared to normal i just need the hypermode one...... that will be fun lol ill need all energy tanks through

  • i'm disapointed, omega ridley was very easy to defeat, i tought it would be difficult

  • @lexard23 then try hyper mode ... youll scream after challenging him the 7th tim !

  • What the heck are you doing?

Lemme just blow his armor open... oh I have a limited time before he gets back down again! Lemme waste my time scanning him! That's one more entry for the logbook! Oh no I can't shoot him now...

  • I just hope he is going to die for good in "other M".

  • He was present during/right before fusion, so no.

  • i dought it.......hes like sigma. always somehow comes back........

  • othe M actually takes place before mp 3, so he is not going to die

  • @samusfan13 other m is chronocally before metroid prime 3^^

  • @Kovuthelegend it is i think its after zero mission but b4 fusion

  • @Kovuthelegend It's in between Super Metroid and Fusion :/

  • That is One determined Dragon-thing!
