Apple will never release flash because Apple likes control and flash is too much freedom. Think about it. Grooveshark? Hulu? This would destroy apps like rhapsody and the big companies that give Apple a little more money in their pockets. Apple is a fan of limitations and does not want their consumers to have the freedom to do things that might cripple the control Apple has achieved.

probably the multitasking. Before OS 4 (i'm an iPhone 3G owner) I really wasn't sure if i was going to upgrade to the next hardware upgrade of the iPhone. Looking at the live feed on engadger during the event still really wasn't making me switch. Watching the real video of it pretty much makes me want to switch in august (when my contract's up). Also, a zoom feature on the camera is pretty nice too :)

its not really too unique in how they pull of MT(concurrency) biggest issue is that its not lightweight design as with Palm's WebOS, as the 3G version while jailbroken can do it, Apple has opted it out. This tells me, there is not much they can do with background servers but use specific task classes like navigation & audio.
