I have a 62 as well. I replaced the exhaust front to back 2 1/4 pipe duel glass packs duels out under the bumper sound similer to yours. If you really want the thunder I added 2 80 inch triple chrome lake pipes with romovable caps on the sides of the car uncork them and its a definate thunder crack. Also When you are rollin about 30mph pull the choke and shut off the key petal to the floorfor 5 sec.let go of petalturn key on instant flamethrower!

The previous owner painted it like that. It's a variation of 'dazzle camouflage' used on WWII battleships, but is usually mistaken for a cow.
