For what it's worth, Wikipedia has an article about this. If you Google "Iranian IL 76 crash" you'll find it in the results and it happened in 2009. The IL-76 was their only AWACS (dish) equipped plane. Theories are 1) Fire and during emergency maneuvers, the dish separated and took of the stabilizer 2) Collision with escort. Didn't realize they still had airworthy Phantoms... some were lost in the Iran-Iraq war, and spare parts have gotta be hard to come by, but obviously not impossible.
