  • Was this fire really scripted.

  • One of the last Dallas moments I remember.

  • The maid and butler must really have high-tailed it out of there. There was about a minute between her closing the dining room door and the fire starting.

  • it was actually ray and bobbys fault that walt driscoll wanted to kill jr they set him up at the airport with guns in his suitcase and then because jr never bailed him out he blaimed jr if ray had not interfered to help bobby would never have happened

  • OMG JR actually won the fight!

  • @Freddie1980 Did JR saying to Ray Knebb, "are you drunk"?

  • is the the same episode where sue ellen throws the alcahol bottle at the wall?

  • @955pokerface It sure is

  • Look closely and you'll see as Ray pushes JR into the piano, the piano moves backs and hits the wall - the outer wall moves and again when Ray kicks against the wall.

  • I love JRs throw with that kerosene lamp towards Ray not knowing he caused the fire on Southfork.

  • I love how there's smoke clear upstairs, but none in the living room, right next to the fire.

  • TRT, Turkish state owned channnel, ended Dallas with this cliffhanger in September 1983 and never started again. We had to wait for 7 yrs to watch Dallas on a different channel.

  • i dont know why but i always thought the fire started because of Sue Ellen. I thought she threw the alcohol glass ar the fire. Did she have a fight with J.R at that night??/

  • @pelen23 She threw a bottle of wine earlier and it stained the wallpaper - JR wanted to remove the stain before Ms Ellie got back - but had to repaper the whole room as the paper wasn't available - hence the paint etc.

  • @paulac2006 thank your very much. I was only five then i must have got confused.

  • This was the cliffhanger from Season 5.

  • This episode was always one of my all time favorites.

  • @donegaveup It's a classic. However, there are some oddities. First, Teresa closes the doors to the dining room, which had never been done before. Secondly, there are lit candles in entry-way & in the living room. Odd in that I don't recall there being lit candles in the house before or since. Why would someone have any type of fire around paint, tupentines & other cleaning items? Fortunately, the fire caused the living room to "expand" as seen in '83-'84 premier episode.

  • In This Clip, From 3:30 To 4:14, It Was "Dallas" Video Close From May 6, 1983
