nice work. heard this song thirty years ago and never seen it since. thanks now I can add it to my repertoire. it would be nice to hear this with more accompaniment....
Well done. Yours is the best version I've found on YouTube. I've loved the song for years, ever since I heard Helen Schneyer sing it on A Prairie Home Companion. I eventually found her CD that contains the song, but, unfortunately, I can't remember the title right this minute. Thank you so much for singing and posting this. I've downloaded it, I enjoyed it so much.
Normaly is skip those videos because a lot of people think they can sing but what you hear is scary.... its like those "superstar casting shows" where a lot of people think they can sing.
Very nice. Beautiful. However, this version is a take on "Robin Hood's Death", a traditional ballad (Child No. 120) called "Lonesome Robin" written by Bob Coltman.
Wow. I was surfing for a video to use with my MySpace poetry group. I just loved this. It suits the mood of what I was trying to say, exactly. I can't embed it, but it will certainly inspire my write. I will post the link.
I really like this song- I can't find it on the internet- any chance you would share your source or ? Thanks- found your videos because I like the Dave Francey song Waking Hour.
Hey Garibelon, thank you- I have started working on the song, though I can't come close to your guitar playing. Quite a sad song really. Thanks again.
I take a Copo on second fret. But only on ADGHE stings. Not the low E string. So you have a "dropped D" tuning sounds in E. But now you can play the chords like G in standard position. And the A chord on "now" fret 7 also in standard position. But if you play A on "now" fret 4 or the e7 don't pick the lower E string.
It does- I was wondering why the G chord looked odd- the partial capo- I have seen other people use this. Thanks for the information, and I will keep working on the song.

Thank you very much.
I play it with capo on second fret but only A to e string. Not the deep E string.
So I got something like a dropped D tuning but it sounded in E key.
The chords are:
D, e7, G, A.
Hope that helps you.
