  • So uall reached M1.0 at 533 kts making oat -50C, not bad for only 13K feet.

  • lol about the altitude thing....noticed it too. Block altitudes in a warning area can be confusing. Nice explanation of FAR 1.1 He was legal. I'm a flight instructor and also live and fly in the middle of an MOA in western IL. It's all a blast and I miss the F-16 unit I served with back in the 90's. Awsome video!!!! Miss that sound!!!! I'm a civilian pilot but would've loved to have flown one of those

  • BEST VID IVE SEEN, BUT A LITTLE THROTTLE WOULDNT HAVE HURT YA!! JK

  • Like the cannon sound effects the pilot made.LOL!

  • 3:00 Hwo do those 4,9 G feel? I guess youre breathing that heavily because of that high g load?

  • everything is good except background music. its killing me.

  • how the hell did u get to have control of a F16 falcon... i would love any info u can give me on this as it is also a dream of mine to fly in one of these or a F/A 18 hornet

  • and the he goes below it AGAIN at 4:53... and in all cases the "altitude altitude" call occurs... ??????????????????

  • @elmo1059 The clearance guarantees that Air Traffic Control will keep all traffic out of that block of airspace. Anything outside that area ATC cannot guarantee to keep traffic out of the area and the pilot has the responsibility to maintain visual seperation from any traffic. This took place in Warning Area 147 D in the gulf coast about 30 miles off shore.

  • @elmo1059 Warning area – 14 CFR 1.1

A warning area is airspace of defined dimensions, extending from 3 nautical miles outward from the coast of the United States, that contains activity that may be hazardous to nonparticipating aircraft. The purpose of such warning areas is to warn nonparticipating pilots of the potential danger. A warning area may be located over domestic or international waters or both.

  • @elmo1059 This Bitching Betty Altitude call was something the pilot programed into the computer to warn him when he descends below that altitude to he can maintain visual seperation.

  • @elmo1059 The pilot inputs minimum and maximum altitudes into the flight computer. When the aircraft falls below the minimum or above the max altitude the computer send out the 'alarm' to get the pilots attention so he/she may correct their altitude. If you watch the HUD early on in the flight in the bottom center after recieving cleared altitudes from ATC you can see the information inputed into the computer from the pilot.

  • Interesting that nobody commented on the the fact that his clearance was the block FL180 to 5000.. yet at 2:21 he is at 2760ft... and at 3:41 he comments that he is only cleared to 5000... hmmm something to think about... I wonder if and incident report was filed

  • Every tax paying american should be able to have one free ride in a military aircraft. I think its great the men and women who are in the armed service get incentive rides but asshole celebs or tv anchors shouldnt be the only people who experience what a fighter jet can do. remember us tax payers buy these things!

  • Great Video! At 2:21 they are down to 2,760 ft and the restriction says 5000 ft, thats a bit low if you ask me...

  • Hello Aflak, let me congratulate you for that flight you did. Since I was a kid and nowadays the F-16 has been my favorite fighter airplane. For unknown reasons I couldn't join in Venezuelan Air Force so I became in civilian pilot what I love to death.

My cousin is becoming in a Fighter Pilot here and she did her incentive ride also in a F-16B and like you, she took the control resisting a 8.8G turn easily.

I respect you a lot for what you do and as we know AVIATION IS LIFE!

    Regards!

  • Thanks Man!

  • other than Hugh Hefner, I think you're the luckiest man alive.

  • That was amazing. Thanks for putting it up on here.:)

  • @ch7294 Thanks you!

  • It says your "Incentive ride". And I heard the pilot say he has taking a few people up. How did you get to go for a Ride in this? I actually live 3 miles away from Elington and flown out of there many times. Was this when the Air National Guard was still based there?

  • @benjamincory The Air National Guard is still here, however they "the 147th" are now out of the F-16 Business. This was filmed in Jan 2008. They awared about 20 servicemembers incentive rides as an award for outstanding performance.

  • awe inspiring stuff dude

    really well done

    cool pilot too!

    T

  • That wasn't cheesy at all, that was you having fun! And hell you earned it after all those years man.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous but I don't think you could have asked for a better pilot to take you up! Congrads!

  • Man this is f*ckin awesome I felt like actually sitting there with you guys! :D

    Thanks for this great video!

  • As I was watching this an F 16 flew overhead. True story! Seriously jealous of your good fortune here. Must have been a blast!

  • That was absolutely amazing. I'm jealous to an extent, but I dunno if I could handle nine Gs... Hell, probably not even five, lawl. You took it like a champ.

Awesome pilot, and an awesome video. 5/5 across the board.

  • NICE EP

  • Oops! bust your mins there a couple of times! Hope Radar didnt notice! HAHA! Hope you enjoyed it mate!

  • you are one lucky basterd my frind =)

btw is the jet actually quiet when travelling above the speed barrier?

  • awsome footage !

Thanx for sharing this amazing experience

  • how much fuel is left I heard bingo along time ago. lol

  • The pilot sets the bingo fuel level based on mission requirements, if you watch the hud closely you will actually see him put it in. It is basically a reminder of current fuel state at certain points in the mission!

  • AWESOME PROFESSIONAL PILOT, HIGH TECH SCREEN, WOW, PILOTS IN THE MILITARY ARE THE BEST IN WORLD!!!.....

Thank you for POSTING A REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE...AIR FORCE YOU ARE THEBEST..WITH THIS F-16 FALCCON...

    THANK YOU...

  • What a wonderfull oustanding awesome video. Thank you very much for sharing! Enjoyed it a lot :). Greetz from Poland!

  • As many have said....thank you so much for sharing that awesome ride you had in the viper. I'm jealous, but you deserved it and glad you got to get your ride of a lifetime! (now lets see if I get some footage in our local L-39 ably next year!)

  • Thank you for sharing your amazing experience with that great pilot "Viper" and amazing fighter F16 Falcon.

An image is worth than thousand words.

    You´re a luck guy !

    Thanks a lot.

  • I'm assuming that you guys are out for 30-40 mins and are low on fuel already?

  • The pilot can set BINGO Reminders. You can actually see him punch them in at the bottom using the ICP "integrated Control Panel directly below the HUD"

He sets those as a reminder to check fuel levels becuase he knows the amount of fuel required to RTB safely.

These are always programmed in well in advanced based on mission requirements.

  • Back in the early 70's as an Air Force enlisted man I was lucky enough to get a ride in a T-38. Since then I have sky dived...sailed the pacific....scuba dive with sharks ect. I'm almost 60 now and I tell ya.... that ride in the T-38 is still the coolest thing I've ever done. Great video.

  • I worked at GD and every year there was a bond drive. The winner would get a fully loaded Siverado PU the second prize was a ride in an F 16. The guy that won the PU always bitched that he was really second. What aride.

  • LOL Well a fully loaded PU is what 30 grand and a one hour ride in an f-16 costs about 8-10 grand in fuel. However money cant buy the experience of G's and Speed So I totally See the arguement!

  • Awesome Video!

Probably like most other people, I was smiling the whole 3 parts.

You lucky guy to get to ride in an F-16! Great flight & well done for the 8.9G's (It wasn't quite 9G but, that's close enough for me!)

    Good job all round!!!

  • So where is the 147th now and who does gulf coast alert mission? Gulfport?

  • The 147th fighter wing no longer exists. They converted to the MQ-1 Predator. The 138th Fighter wing out of Tulsa now does the alert mission with a small detachment stationed at Ellington.

  • how did you got this opportunity to flight with air force man ^^ thanks for share great vid ^^

  • for pc fun fly lockon modern air combat its the next best thing.

  • Hey aflack, thanks for the vid. Its really cool the way you combined all the HUD information with the camera footage. Great video:-) And well done with the 9 G´s

  • Awesome vid dude, I was smiling the whole 3 parts!

  • Derek, I have just watched all 3 parts - that was absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing experience ... top marks!

  • Nice vid!.. Is this outa NAS JRB in Ft Worth?

  • No this is out of Ellington JRB Former home of the 147th Fighter Wing that has lost its F-16's as of last may!

  • I work just down the street from ellington and the f-16's are still there, just saw 2 today loaded with weapons. I even saw f-4's a couple of weeks ago if you can believe that!!!

  • those f-16's belong to oklahoma. We do still have the alert mission but there is no longer a squadron based there. I know becuase I still work there and I was one of the lucky ones!

  • you kick ass dude. You've done what many of us do in flight sim lol. Now you get to say you flew both the flight sim F-16 and the real thing. Awesome!

  • do u really have 2 have 20/20 vision 2 fly in the military? i heard it was 20/70 wit glasses n correctable 2 20/20?

  • I honestly do not know. I have heard conflicting reports. I know that we do have pilots who fly with glasses but those are often pilots who have been flying with the AF for many years. I think that to fly fighters you have to have 20/20 but cargo/refuelers dont have to. However dont quote me because I am not a flight surgon.

  • Not to be a buzz kill....but I vividly remember in my childhood asking a Navy recruiter in the mall, after watching Top Gun movie, ( I'm old) if you need perfect vision to "join" and fly and he responded yes you do. You need perfect vision to join and my understanding is if your eyesight get worse you can wear glasses. I could be wrong. I would imagine that covers air force and army too?

And now I am a shower curtain salesman...

    Thanks again aflack for sharing.

  • damn, I'm sweating just watching it!! lol

  • awsome dude...!!!

you gt to be real proud nd lucky to fly a bird like tht... respect

  • Great Vid...

  • you asshole that was nothing ... just kidding that was awesome, I wished that was me, nice vid man.

  • awesome. so how accurate is the F4.0 sim compared to the real thing?

  • The primary difference is the feel of the aircraft which can never be recreated on the ground.

The Stick hardly moves at all and works primairly off of pressure hince why I was bouncing so much becuase I couldnt quite get the feel of the stick!

You feel EVERYTHING!!!!!! Its not like flying in a cessna or commercial airliner. Any movement of the aircraft either sucks you into the seat or pushes you out of it!

Other than that The Accuracy of the aircraft and systems are dead on!

  • that sounds awesome! thanks for posting

  • i would so watch these 3 videos everyday for the rest of my life if i was in there!!!

  • LOve the vid, I hope I get such a chance one day ! :) Because it is a dream of many people:D

    Grtz 185th_Blackbird (Virtual Fighter Squadron)

  • Thanks for posting dude!

  • great job...That pilot was awesome. What a great experience!!!

  • GR8 video man... Like others have said before.

Also gr8 job on the solo flying.. You did awesome.. I am sure you must have had some flight sim practise..

Had a similar experience in s Mushaq prop trainer but nothing comes close to a viper.

  • As an Air Force/USMC brat to an Air Force man, all I can really say is

    "GET SOME, SIR!"

    \m/

I've always been an aircraft nut, and the Viper's one of the best. I grew up watching that "Iron Eagle" movie with Louis Gossett Jr., and it was hilarious how the film producers tried to pass off Israeli Mirages as MiG-23s XD. Didn't matter to the Viper, though, naturally.

    God bless, sir.

  • If it comes with a cd player i'll take it!!!!!!!!

  • lol

  • He did a split S and a Immelman in one shot damn you're a lucky dude

  • no arguement there!

  • fantastic videos! thank you for sharing. very immersive indeed.

  • Agreed,

    Thanks for sharing!

  • You're one lucky guy :)

I'm gonna do the Dutch Airforce selections myself soon..Hoping to fly the F-16 as well.

It sure must be one amazing ride in a great thing like this! Can't wait myself neither!

I liked the 3 parts, good job!

    Antony

  • I very much agree hince why I refer to it as an experience of a lifetime on multiple occassions!

    Good Luck and Thank you!

  • you made my day!! thank you for sharing!!

  • Thank you for watching and enjoying it!

  • Thank you for sharing that with us. You have just motivated me even more. I felt like I was right there. In about a year in a half I am going to apply for a flight contract and hope to be in that seat in the near future. Again, Thank you!!!!

  • it was my pleasure to share my experience with you and everyone else!

  • congrats on the flight. i don't think anyone can knock you for flying, being it was your first time actually controling the viper. I am curious though, how comfortable where you in the cockpit. being your entire body was covered, and the only exposed part was your neck, where you hot in the cockpit?

  • There is plenty of Air Conditioning inside as a matter of fact my nuts were freezing! LOL The Vent is right next to that area!

I really didnt find myself being uncomfortable except during High-G Manuvers and during that time I would sweat like crazy. Several times I had to take off my mask and wipe my face of all the sweat!

  • Well mate those vids were great!!!! I've always wanted to go up in something like that but here in Australia we don't have F-16's what I want to fly in is the F-111 a bit bigger and I think a bit faster as well, but anyways thanks for sharing wonderful experience I thouroughly enjoyed it!! Maybe one day I might get my Triple 1 flight. Oh and your mission was accomplished I smiled all the way through!! :D

  • Awesome dude, congrats on your flight! Nothing like it thats for sure! I do allot of flying on the computer, Microsoft flight sim just to get the edge off. Im an x-navy guy myself but you gotta love the viper. I fly it about 90% of the time on flight sim. You should check it out, you may like it if you like to fly. Any questions just let me know!

  • You would be surprised at how many people are still flying falcon 4.0 or allied force!

  • 5/5 and favorited. awesome. =)

  • LOL thank you very much!

  • Great Video! The F-16 is the coolest plane ever produced. I've had the same dream for 25 years. I am happy for you that you were able to actually live it.

  • Thank you very much! As I said about a dozen times it was the experience of a lifetime!

  • Great job man, enjoyed the video!

I really envy you, have to say that! I'd really like to do a flight like that, but I'm afraid it's going to remain a dream.

BTW, do you happen to know the serial of the plane?

  • The aircraft was "borrowed" from the Colorado ANG who was deployed to Iraq at the time and did not have a need for a trainer. I will have to look through my pictures and get back to you!

  • Thank you very much!

  • Great stuff i had a huge grin on my face all the way through. You did a great job :) well done.

  • Thank you very much!

  • Nice man, I like the strafe sound effect the pilot used lol.

  • Lol it couldnt be helped! Cheezy or not it was fun!

  • very nice man!

i wonder that there was a bullseye programmed (and not the homeplate). thougt this is only in combat scenarios...

whatever, thumbs up and thanx for sharing!

  • *Smile* 'nuff said, right?

  • Good for you!! Great job too!

That was my dream since 7 or 8 too. I just got out AD AF at Eglin after 9 years working in the control tower. I or the the other 40+ folks I worked with never got an F-16 ride. But man that C-130 ride in 2003 from Quatar to North Iraq was fun! LOL.

PS go to OTS and fly guard Vipers!!

    James

  • FREEKIN SWEET! How did I just know he'd excersize the option? lol

You got a couple of nice shots of my neighborhood transitioning from base to final. GOOD TIMES!

  • LOL glad you enjoyed it!

  • what a great trip--and two fly-by's!! hah! something for you to share for the rest of your life! i'm glad i got to see it. and the thumbs up from the pilot, how cool is that?
