Thank you so much for posting this video. My sister is going to give me these shots. I'm really nervous and she's a little nervous. This video made both of us feel better. My clinic recommended that I keep the oil at room temperature but the fact that your friend injected refrigerated oil into your body and you didn't yelp, really made me feel better. Thank you for sharing something so personal.
The progesterone is only needed until the body is able to take over in the production of it. I heard typically until 12 weeks after the embryo transfer, so like 3 months into the pregnancy. The only reason I could think of a doctor wanting you to take the shots for 35 weeks is if your body wasn't producing the progesterone for you... I'm not a doctor though...
Hey there, I just saw the last comment finally. I think 'your' bottle might have said do not refigerate, but my doctor told me it was fine, and apparently the refigerator didn't hurt it, because I had twins, so I guess it's anyone's preference. Thanks talkinrussian for the comment.
In the bottle is written in plain English: do not refrigerate, keep in room temperature. You, guys, messed up the storing of this medicine with medicine for IVF (ganilerix, ovidrel, etc.) Also use the alcohol pad to take the needle out. lol
Thursday I will officially be in week 14. And last monday, we found out that one of them is a girl! Woo hoo! looks like some pink will be in the wardrobe. we'll find out on April 27 what the other one is at the next ultrasound.
Yes, you do want to let the alcohol dry first, or it will add to the sting. My husband also holds the syringe in his hand for a minute, the warmer it is, the quicker it goes in. Lying on your side with a pillow under the knee on the side that will be inj helps me to relax the muscle the most. Have the person injecting the oil make sure that there is a hot/warm wet wrung out washcloth right there to immediately rub in circles on the injection site. This takes a lot of the sting out.
Some tips. Warm the needle in your hand for a bit as it helps to thin the oil. And massage the area with a heat pad afterwards to help dispurse the oil so you dont get those lumpy spots. Heat helps with the pain too if you have any. Good luck with your transfer.
