Its hard to fly a seaking, compared to any other hele. Its like flying a vrick with concreat on it. This i know from exsperence. The rudder shakes, the seat is not at all comftible, but the manovers seakings can do is amazeing.
i av onli jst seen this vid on ere but my work is at the botom pitsmoor right next to the river Don but lukily my work iz on a hill so we dint get flooded although i gt over the bridge like just before it flooded. it was so amazing watchin it all until i saw the damage it did 2 peoples homes and cars and person on the first page there was lootin plenty of it all from wicker lol. but where i live crosspool i live on a hill and we didnt get nothing not even a puddle lol wud av bin nice but o wel.
Nobbyneilo... Good on you m8... I cant wait to join the RAF... i wish i was there but im still in uni studying medicine to become an RAF Medical officer... i was so angry i couldnt be there to help. :( but ye thanks neilo for the support... makes me happy to see that ppl appreciate the work that ill be doing
i live in woodseats am was working at the time. although coz of the rain it was boring and saw all this on the news. in some way so many bloody hills and living up one can be helpful although the rest of the place was done to shit. when i saw the choppers on the news i could not believe me eyes.
Hi I'm a civillian worker at RAF Boulmer, not sure if these were our boys as there were other 202 helicopters involved in the rescue, but I do know the crew from Boulmer worked tirelessly airlifting people to safety in these floods and I'm privileged to know them .... great job but just one of many they carry out on a daily basis.
i live in sheffield, talk about cost to the council lol, peoples houses, shop and cars, all damaged....they carnt say they dint have a clue it was guna happen, cause it happend a couple of days before but no where near as bad.
IT'S LIKE WATCHING A DISASTER MOVIE. WAS BORN IN SHEFFIELD LIVED IN THE AREA UNTIL 1988 THEN MOVED DOWN SOUTH, NEVER SEEN SHEFFIELD FLOODED LIKE THIS. I THINK A LOT OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT THER'E BUILDING TOO MANY HOUSES, THE DRAINAGE CAN'T COPE. THEY HAVE JUST BUILT SOME TRENDY HOUSES NEAR A RIVER NEAR US. "ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME" Hope you guys up there get back on your feet soon, though they have forecast more rain towards theweekend. ALL THE BEST FOR YOU ALL!!
In answer to your questions this was filmed from Coode House on the Riverside development (although technically we were in the river last night rather than beside it) looking East down the Don Valley towards Meadowhall.
The person appears to have been winched from one of the factory buildings between Nursery Street and the Wicker Arches - the whole area was flooded, so I suspect they were stranded.
its not over for us yet, catcliffe, brinsworth and part of the m1 are in the path of a dam that has been labled as unstable. If it rains any more which it is forcast to do, then those area's will get flooded too.
Check my vids out, we got flooded on our ground floor and i have got some great footage of Lady's Bridge and the River Don as well as Nursery Street and the Wicker. Scary times!!
