@smartalek1 You do know that the parties buy the rights to play those songs in their conventions and political rallies from a large agency which handles and sells those rights, right? In the case of Heart and "Barracuda", the Reps had purchased those rights (can't speak for the other singers). Heart whined about them using it, but their contract, unlike some other artists, didn't specificaly deny the ability of political organizations the right to license the use of the songs.
