Iam a proud owner to 2 slaughter bound horses who I saved, and one sluahgter bound horse I saved back in 2008. Took the one 08 and turned him into a top knotch show horse. Slaughter needs to be stopped.
If I had the money and place to keep them, I would buy all the horses out of the slaughter house and save them. I cry all the way through these video's, it's horribly cruel and it hurts inside to see starved and distressed horses.

In the uk the slaughterhouses have very strict rules, my friends boyfriends parents own one. Its all done humanely etc. We shouldnt be worried about slaughter it should be about the transports taking days with no water and food in cramped up lorries.

there's a big difference between neglect and competition accidents. I love my horse and we both love competition but we've fallen over a few times and stacked it pretty bad, but it doesnt mean i neglect him.

I doubt there's any professional athlete that hasn't broken a bone (Lord knows I've had my fair share). It irks me that people post images of animal ACCIDENTS and call them abuse. I've seen human ACCIDENTS a helluva lot worse.

it's so sad..but always when I see pictures like that I'm really glad that I saved a horse...he looked like the one from 2.18..nobody ever understood why I wanted to buy a horse like him..now many people say he's beautiful and very talented...he loves to jump...I've been to his first jumping competition last weekend and he enjoyed it:)...some people even wanted to buy him. please don't buy expensive horses that already have a wonderful life. go and find a horse that needs your help...

I bet one of my favorite horses is dead because his first owner gave him negitive attention and trained him wrong. His second owner trained him the same way and so did the home I met him in. He never got positive affection exept from me. He was sold for throwing a person off when it was the rider's falt. GOD JUST BECAUSE OF ONE PERSON MADE A HORSE BAD! His name was Jethro.

Ah, horse slaughter...it's a funy topic, isn't it? If there was no horse slaughter, then we would have loads of horses starving in the backyards of ignorant morons who didn't bother giving them proper care. It is a necessary evil.
HOWEVER, the way that they currently do it is completely and totally wrong. It envokes unecessary terror. Horses are bled out while they're still alive. It's not proper. If they are going to run a slaughterhouse, they need to do it resonably respectfully.

i have to agree with this dood below. i have seen a horse that looks like it was starved and it ate everysingle day fed ALOT but there was something wronge with it. and also when the horses are still young the older horses that are around then can also cause some of the thing people call abuse. i dont believe in any kind od abuse but idk thats my opinion
you have compiled a bunch of pictures of ACCIDENTS these horses weren't beat into the ACCIDENTS that happened. and as for torture if an animal is tortured their muscles tense and don't hold water so the meat is tuff when cute and wont last as long. and starving a hrose makes no sence at all that takes away all the meat. come to my place and take pictures all of my horses are fat and none of them are beat on. closeing the horse slaughter is why the market is like it is.

It would be much more humane if slaughter houses were to use humane methods of killing, and were to guarantee better treatment of the horses prior to.Because really, we slaughter cows? Horses are the same, but we consider them pets. The day cows are considered pets, we will be all against slaughtering them to.

but they really have no reason to want to torture the horses or starve them. It ruins the meat, and if they're starved, they would have no meat which is what they kill them for.
Personally, i believe that slaughter is wrong, but I am also a vegetarian. But in some cases it is beneficial to the horse and society for it to be slaughtered. Leaving those unwanted horses just to starve in fields is cruelty.

and I was more so refering to the fences on a hunter corse not like a pasture or the fence's in a jumping arena I'v never seen a cow do dressage though horse's can do that quite well if trained and riden properly

Yes, I have a horse and I work in a horse stable! and there are lotsa organization on the internet and around that will help you find a place where u can adopt slaughter horses.... A good way to do this is to go to a horse auction most of those horses are bought by slaughter houses for there meat... RIP!!!

What we need to do if anything is to stop people over breeding horses as this is why half of them go to slaughter! Thats whats the sickest bit about it!! Poor foals dont have a choice!

there's a big difference between neglect and competition accidents. I love my horse and we both love competition but we've fallen over a few times and stacked it pretty bad, but it doesnt mean i neglect him.

Some photos; neglect, Some are of what horses LOVE to do; competition. With every competition, there's gonna be injury. I doubt there's any professional athlete that hasn't broken a bone (Lord knows I've had my fair share). It irks me that people post images of animal ACCIDENTS and call them abuse. I've seen human ACCIDENTS a helluva lot worse.
As far as the neglect/abuse, there's no excuse.

it's so sad..but always when I see pictures like that I'm really glad that I saved a horse...he looked like the one from 2.18..nobody ever understood why I wanted to buy a horse like him..now many people say he's beautiful and very talented...he loves to jump...I've been to his first jumping competition last weekend and he enjoyed it:)...some people even wanted to buy him. please don't buy expensive horses that already have a wonderful life. go and find a horse that needs your help...

I bet one of my favorite horses is dead because his first owner gave him negitive attention and trained him wrong. His second owner trained him the same way and so did the home I met him in. He never got positive affection exept from me. He was sold for throwing a person off when it was the rider's falt. GOD JUST BECAUSE OF ONE PERSON MADE A HORSE BAD! His name was Jethro.

Ah, horse slaughter...it's a funy topic, isn't it? If there was no horse slaughter, then we would have loads of horses starving in the backyards of ignorant morons who didn't bother giving them proper care. It is a necessary evil.
HOWEVER, the way that they currently do it is completely and totally wrong. It envokes unecessary terror. Horses are bled out while they're still alive. It's not proper. If they are going to run a slaughterhouse, they need to do it resonably respectfully.

It would be much more humane if slaughter houses were to use humane methods of killing, and were to guarantee better treatment of the horses prior to.Because really, we slaughter cows? Horses are the same, but we consider them pets. The day cows are considered pets, we will be all against slaughtering them to.

If simple laws were put into place concerning the breeding of horses and so on, we would not be faced with situations of too many horses.

but they really have no reason to want to torture the horses or starve them. It ruins the meat, and if they're starved, they would have no meat which is what they kill them for.

I see both sides of this issue.
Personally, i believe that slaughter is wrong, but I am also a vegetarian. But in some cases it is beneficial to the horse and society for it to be slaughtered. Leaving those unwanted horses just to starve in fields is cruelty.
But those horse owners should take the responsibility to have the animal humanely put down.

Im anti sluahgter because its wrong. Horses deserve to have a life and we cant take that away! We can solve over population of horses by having laws about breeding/cross breeding! Laws are good they stop these things and save lives of many... Just my opinon i didnt say anyone had to agree! And I agree with you about the fact that horse slaughter is not the same as horse abuse/ horse neglect... no horse should be subjected to a pain like that! how would u like to get your throat cut just because

we can't take horse lives away but killing cows, sheep, chickens, etc is okay? what makes horses so special? don't get me wrong, i love horses to death (hah) but they're livestock and should be treated as such.

okay. first of all, horse slaughter is NOT the same as horse abuse or horse neglect.
secondly, horse slaughter is a sad necessity. you can complain about it all you want, but until you're ready to take on the thousands of horses that SHOULD be slaughtered, don't condemn those who are proslaughter.
what do you propose we do to all the lame, useless, old, crippled, and dangerous horses out there?

yes, being dangerous might be someones fault but they are still dangerous. I would much rather a dangerous horse be shot and eaten than hurt someone.
okay. my parents are not horses. i would not send my parents to a slaughter house because a) it's not possible and b) i'm not going to compare PEOPLE to LIVESTOCK.
and for the record, yes it does hurt if they get the dosage nessed up.

yea if its messed up but a horse with a broken leg cant live out its days in a slaughter house waiting for a kill box the trip would kill it .
horse are NOT livestock thats cattel,chicken and pigs wanna know why horse's are so speaical because there not a usless animal like a) a cow b) a chicken c) a pig
horse's have other use's were as a pig,chicken and non-milking cows do not.
and tell me whats so diffrent from people and animals were just as much an animal as them just a diffrent speices..

why aren't horses useless? Sure they let us ride them, butwe ride cows too, and they give us a whole lot too.

i am an active horse slaughterer and this video makes me want to change my ways T_T so sad. i have slaughtered 7 horses a day for the past 11 years. i will try to cut it down to 5 from now on :'( thank u

Yes, I have a horse and I work in a horse stable! and there are lotsa organization on the internet and around that will help you find a place where u can adopt slaughter horses.... A good way to do this is to go to a horse auction most of those horses are bought by slaughter houses for there meat... RIP!!!

if i ever come acrossed a hores slaughter org. i will buy at least 3 horses and save them cause i would do anything 4 horses causer they are my other half if yall ever seen the movie FLIKA the girl says we are the same then the dad wants to kill flika and she says its ok dady you can kill us.

We are all terribly disgusted by this sabage act towards these beautiful creatures... we need to help them and support the rescue centers out there that take in these hurt and scared animals!!! PLEAS HELP TO FIGHT FOR THE INNOCENCE OF THESE PRECIOUS ANIMALS!!!

Thanks for making this video Miranda. I thank God for those people who fight to help horses. It's disgusting how they are treated. I agree we must help in any way we can. Not everyone has money but everyone has a voice. Please horses lovers lets pressure our government to make changes.
