  • She may not have been her customary chipper self, but it was freezing that night and she had just finished her performance...and she is in her mid 80s (as we age, our bodies naturally tolerate the cold less and less). But she was gracious in taking the time to sign the autographs...gracious under circumstances which were very hard on her. She deserves the benefit of the doubt. God bless her!

  • I think Angela was just looking out for her fans than threatening them since people can be naive sometimes which can turn a situation ugly. Plus she must of been tired and freezing with no scarf or woolies on. One of my relatives has met her before and said she is a really nice lady.

  • Excuse my ignorance have to look this lady up...oh wow Murder She Wrote, hmm she hasnt aged well

  • @Noobsquadz Ummmm she's 84 here. What do you expect her to look like? She is a woman who has *lived.*

  • I think she was joking

  • she is an amazing woman..

  • I love Dame Angela classy sista

  • She signed my playbill after Blithe Spirit and was very sweet, even smiling brightly and saying "You're very welcome." I think she only seemed testy here because it was cold and she didn't want to get sick when she had a show to do the next few months.

  • @JL89600 Exactly. I'm in my 20s and have never been fortunate (yet) to perform in a run longer than 10 performances, and even I know to be very careful about how many people to interact with, how late to stay out and then return home after a performance, etc. As an actor, your body and health are your life, and at 84 that applies even when one is not an actor. At 84, one is also naturally less tolerant of the cold, too. I have met Ms. Lansbury before and she is the essence of tact and grace.

  • Come on, She was cold, tired and wanted to go home, she`s in her 80s for gods sake. Over the years she may well have learned to recognize people who are just out to line their own pockets, she was just stating fact. :-)

  • She was kind of not so nice. Surprised...

  • @sagelandry15 I went to see her in Blithe Spirit, and she is my idol, and she didn't come out to sign it. Remember yall... She is 84. And she just preformed a show... I act, and I know how tired you are afterward... And I'm 14. She is freakin 84! It was cold... Yes she was a bit pissy, but I highly doubt she meant anything by it.

  • She is so gracious and so beautiful.

  • She is so gracious and still so beautiful.

  • Umm. She looks so friggin old. lol.

  • I'm so annoyed after seeing this! I had to much respect for her before I heard this crap about copyright and suing! I mean, really, who the hell would want a photo of her anyway! and why would someone pay for it! she is that old, and threatens someone will be sued for having a photo of her! omg! She is lucky anyone pays to see her or wants her autograph still!

Even if it was copyrighted, she didnt have to say anything about it, it just makes her look like a sour old ............

  • @triphappenings -- to be fair, it probably bothers her a lot that people get her autograph and then go and sell it on Ebay, etc., for personal gain. There are many people who do just that, and many more who want to buy, and then none of the original artists benefit from it. And it might have looked suspicious if he showed up with a copyrighted picture for her to sign, if he'd printed it from the internet or something, and she *knows* it's not part of her merchandise that's for sale.

  • @triphappenings -- ...It wouldn't have looked as suspicious if he'd showed up with the program from that night, or with a sketchbook or CD or some personal possession for her to sign. And I think it was kind of her to sign some autographs, even though she had just finished a show and must have been exhausted, and it was very cold outside. She wasn't *threatening,* just warning him of the facts based on what he'd brought.

  • Angela was talking about a photograph that the fan was having her sign that she told him was copyrighted. He told her he was keeping it for himself, and she said as long as he was, it was all right.

  • what was she talking about when she said "you'll get sued if you..."?

  • Probably something about being in the street?
