I wonder if Tiger had been in his prime back in 77 if he would have outgunned Watson and Nicklaus. Have only seen brief clips of this historic championship but I suspect if Tiger was sent in a time machine back to 1977 he would make it a Trio in the Sun.

Probably. Tiger did MC last month at Turnberry. He is able to recover from errant tee shots at most courses, last month, he could not.
Watson hit his drives about 15 yards further in '09 than in '77. And the course was about 400 yards longer in 09.
