  • @atyg1967 What Germany apologized to only about a pogrom of Nazi Germany.

    its Buck-passing.

By the way the person saying it in Japan has only a Chinese or a Korean.^^

  • This film is based on fact. You can find Japanese volunteer graves in Indonesian National Hero Cemetery.

  • Srama ppagi!!

    is it correct?(*_*;

  • @charly345mstl its incorrect, it should be "selamat pagi" means good morning hehe

  • @KsatriaNusantara

    Thank you( ´∀`)

    selamat pagi!

  • Die for all Allied Forces!!!

  • susah cari dvd nya -___-

  • 17805 is actually the date of Indonesia's Independence, 17 August 2605. 2605 is 1945 in the Japanese Imperial calender. This is the date that was written on Indonesia's most important of its 3 regalia kept under the National Monument, the document of the Declaration of Independence. Why did they put 2605 instead of 1945? Well, ask them oldies who were at the declaration, I'm not sure myself.

  • what i don't like from this movie why an indonesian has to kiss japanese' foot?? -,- well i think it's overrated.

  • @HikariSenpaiMangaka

? Before the broadcast, the director showed the film to Indonesian Ambassador to Japan. Then according to his advice, the sceane which had probability to mislead the audience was cleared. This film is dedicated to both Indonesians and Japanese who wish forever friendship.

  • In 1944 Kawilarang's father died during the 'Junyō Maru' disaster. The Japanese cargo ship carrying 3,000 Menadonese, Ambonese, Indo-European, Dutch, British, Australian, American POW's and over 3,500 Javanese Romushas (forced laborers) was sunk. Kawilarang recalls being told about the tragedy: "I prayed in silence. I did not cry. The Japanese had given me enough practice in digesting pain and suffering in silence."

  • Pak Kawilarang recalls:

Someone in the warung [food stall] said: "Japan will grant the Indonesian people its freedom." I could not ascribe any sense at all to such small talk. Impossible! That was my opinion. But I remained silent. I didn't feel much for more torture... A news paper wrote: "Japan is an old friend." Lies! I thought

  • During the Japanese occupation native Menadonese, Ambonese and Indo people were often randomly arrested during raids and severely tortured by the Kempeitai. Indonesian warhero Pak Kawilarang survived several Japanese tortures (1943 and 1944), but suffered lifelong disability in his right arm and numerous scars. His Bio will show you more truth than this film.

  • @WanderfalkeAT You just voiced your comment on a American website so what does that make you? Everyone likes to point a finger on how bad America is And there the same 2 faced whores that try to be just like America You Speak English on American websites, Drink coke, Watch American made movies Know the actors, Wear bluejeans Listen to USA made music etc etc the list go's on and on ..A coment from a guy who is from the birth place of hitler Talking about who is a nazi LOL thats funny

  • Okay, as an indonesian i must tell you that this movie looks good! the special effect, the music, the make up, everything looks good. Even my country can't do this and they always made stupid porn / horor movies that made make me puke whenever i saw their poster in the theatre >.<

Also, i forgave Japan for what they did in the past. Cause it's useless to keep hatred after hatred for so long.

  • @Mrcrazya55 Manusia tolol, pergi saja loe dari negara indonesia.

  • @kopraljony

jiwa lo yg kerdil dan pukimak!

  • japanese, one word, COCKROACHES

  • what is de fullname of this movie?

  • we the people of Indonesia. defeated Japanese soldiers. and managed to disarm the Japanese.

and expel all Japanese troops from INDONESIA

  • Comment removed

  • The Japanese were worst imperialists than the West! I'm not saying Western imperialism wasn't savage and wrong, but the Japanese committed countless atrocities against subjected population. They spouted nonsense about liberating Asia, but they practiced Nazi-like racism and atrocities. This movie is nonsense and Indonesians know it. Keep fooling yourself, Japan.

  • @RudeDan I'mJapanese .

    are you korean?

  • @jun05858

I am not Korean, I am Puerto Rican.

Don't take my criticism of the Japanese imperial policies and Japanese revisionism as criticisms of regular Japanese people. I know the average Japanese person had no control over these atrocities, but it pains me to see Japanese deny the past actions of their government out of nationalism.

  • @RudeDan And, what should Japan do?

By when do I only have to apologize though apologize many times?

Do to apologize to the person who fights for Indonesia and died?

What did Japan do to the Puerto Rico people?

  • @jun05858

Japan should acknowledge the evil things its government did in the past and stop trying to cover it up in the text books. Japanese denial of wartime atrocities destabilizes East Asia. It makes the Korea and Chinese governments and people nervous about a militarized Japan. For the sake of peace and honesty, Japan should acknowledge and apologize for its wrong doings.

Japan didn't do anything to Puerto Rico, but that doesn't mean I will ignore wrong doing.

  • @RudeDan The opinion from South Korea and China is most for the textbook.

Asia other than South Korea and China to which Japan was related in the past refer neither the apology nor compensation.

There was a bad part. Japan has apologized there many times.

However, should even my child and grandchild's generation apologize in ten years later and 100 years?

  • @RudeDan

    Japan is an independent country.

Please study colonial times of India Indonesia, Taiwan, and Malaysia if you are Puerto Rico people.

Please look at the history to independence and return it.

  • @jun05858

I'm well aware of these countries' colonial histories... How exactly do the colonial actions of Western powers negate Japan's imperial past?

  • @RudeDan Imperialism in European nations advanced after the 16th century. Southeast Asian whole areas except Thailand were colonized.

Did Britain apologize to Myanmar Bangladesh dish India?

Did France apologize to Cambodia Vietnam?

Did Spain and the United States apologize to the Philippines?

And, did the Netherlands apologize to Indonesia or did those countries actually apologize?

Or, is there a reason why only Japan should keep apologizing to a specific country many times?

  • @jun05858

I'm not saying that only Japan should apologize. All countries involved in imperialist activities should apologize.

Either way, there's no question that Japan's imperialism was much more brutal than that of Westerners. The Japanese government as a whole has never come out and expressed regret for its deeds. Especially towards Korea and China.

  • @RudeDan

「Statement by Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama」

    Please retrieve google by this.

A successive prime minister is apologizing many times because he or she succeeds to it.

  • @jun05858

This is the statement of the Prime Minister, it is not a government resolution. I don't want to be too hard on Japan today, but the textbook thing and resurgent right wing nationalism is extremely dangerous.

Japanese nationalism runs deep, my school has quite a few Japanese people.... None of the ones I talked to were aware about their country's past crimes and brutality. This worries me and many people throughout Asia.

  • @RudeDan What will on earth the opinion of the government if there is no Prime Minister statement in the opinion of the government? There is no patriotism of your worry about the Japanese. It is safe.

The more it leaves my country, the more the mind of a national belonging thickens in everyone.

The person's in all countries having a negative idea for the home country becomes correct recognition that you say.

    not gotten.

Doing patriotism as well as the war has a short-circuited idea.

  • @jun05858 did netherlands? yes they did..and they acknowledge 17 8 1945 as our independence..it's hard to made them admit that, but finally they did. If not apologize then tell the truth about romusha (the japanese soldiers made my grandfather mobilize his own villagers to work) or about the jugun ianfu (従軍慰安婦)..are Japan going to admit that and tell the world about it? It'll be great and noble thing to do if japan did that

  • @jun05858

    Yes we did apologize.

  • @jun05858 One day Chinese will eat you all.

  • @Thugluv2525

Now Thai land is under the chinese rule. Thai army is the final barrier. Why do they not carry out a coup d'etat?

  • @jun05858 Just because others didn't do it is a lazy excise. And better that Japan apologizes whilst there are people LIVING who saw their loved ones killed and raped by the Japanese. By the way, Germany, allies of Japan, HAS apologized to the Jews.

  • Lol. So not only do the Nips not apologise for their atrocities in WW2 (of which there were many); they also make a film which makes them out to be heroes?

  • @Talbot6832 Well, the Indonesian government and film-makers were also involved in the production. It was a joint venture so to speak.

  • stupid movie

  • Tennoheikai BANZAAAIIIIIII !!!!!!!

  • this movie is banned in Indonesia and hate in japan, right?

  • Where can I get this movie from???anyone??i'm dying to check it out..info plizzzzz!!..thanks

  • but i don't know why... in this movie the japanese impressed like a hero for the Indonesian...

perhaps because this film is viewed from the standpoint of the Japan...

i have to watch this movie.....

    i like it..

  • @treborrrobert

We are apt to forget a simple fact.

In fact, each country has each justice.

I think that multiple viewpoint is necessary to think about the "history".

  • hhmm,,, maybe there were several reasons for Japanese when they came to Indonesia,,

japan was colonized Indonesia for 3.5 years....

Indonesians were greeted Japan as their liberator from the Dutch.. witch were colonized Indonesia for 3.5 Centuries.....

over time,,, japan became the a colonizer for Indonesia,,,

but Japanese has contribution in forming military section...etc..

Now, some of the japanese soldier stay in Indonesia,,and they are have their Indonesian name...they are still alife now

  • Comment removed

  • @caonimazazhongtoushu I think the Japanese soldiers who killed cockroaches in Nanjing during WW2 are HEROES :)

  • those japs deserve to die becausemthey ruined my country and the rest of asia.

  • Shut up, you uncle Tom!

  • Quite a propaganda, huh? Considering that the Japanese were WORSE than the Dutch ever was with us. At the time, they really did help us fight against the Dutch. Only to conquer us later on, of course. We were under the Dutch for 350 years, and the Japanese for only 3,5 years. But you know what? The Dutch has never killed people in the same amount as Japan has under such a short amount of time. Sorry to offend you guys with the TRUTH. Guess I'm still bitter for my grandpa's death by the Japanese.

  • What the hell are you talking about? The IJM provided free education and encouraged the Indonesians to take parts of the domestic industries such as agriculture, health-care, fishery, shipbuilding, etc. This resulted the increase of the number of the intellectuals. In addition, the IJM provided the opportunity for the unification of the Indonesians; providing military training, and the unified language.

  • @bystanderTokyo Just swallow those false sweet-lies your country provide you. You don't know what actually happened here. Trust what happened when a country invade the others from the invader's own lips. Yeah, right.

Military training? They took Indonesians as THEIR army. LOADS of people died in trainings. They treated us like trash. Rodi-work, creating 'agricultural help'. In reality, they worked Indonesians to death. No rest, punisments, no food and drink. LOADS of people DIED. They killed ppl

  • @cinnamonpapprika I know all that any way my grand mother is indonesian and her mother was somebody who survived from that war and she can tell me all about it

  • She was just a rape victim of the Dutch. That' all.

  • @bystanderTokyo Oh, and don't make me start about how Japan take women from the countries they conquered including Indonesia as prostitutes. Japan stole their honour, stained their and their families' name, scarred them for life, crushes their self-esteem and living spirit. They've destroyed lives, and yet what happened? No one told their children about those lost lives, isn't it right? Only false lies are told. They forget them. They killed these poor souls for the second time.

  • @bystanderTokyo

Did you say "going for white women was like screwing dogs and horses" ? - give us a YES or NO answer.

  • great movie...

  • nice story.

    I really appreciate their spirit.

  • I wonder, (the alternative history in different universe), what would it be if Japan win the Pacific War...?!

    - Everybody will speak Japanese as far as Australia and Los Angeles

    - Whale will exticnt in early 21st century since Japan legalize international whaling industry

    - No McDonald's around, it will be sushi fastfood chain everywhere

    - No disney or western animation around, the anime fever and Pikachu will swept the world earlier =D

  • Their just soldiers they ain't the evil it's the government that's corrupt!

  • Which corrupt government are you talking about? Of course, the Dutch government, right?

  • hahah,,,i wanna watch this movie,,,,,

i wonder what would happen if hiro and nagasaki weren'y hit by bomb,,,, :o

Imam Bonjol No. 1, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat.

  • @tenacioustaut

I can accept about that tenacioustaut-san, as I said earlier.

The only counter history i can not get is about unit 731.

Would you mind explain about it?

  • the Unit 731 was very SECRETIVE

Nobody except a few people know about the Unit 731

  • @tenacioustaut

that's the reason why I really want to know.

Because the presented history about unit 731 obviously very cornering Japanese

  • If the USA had not given the Hull note to Japan,

Indonesia would still be a Dutch colony

because Japan would not have attacked Pearl Harbour.

  • @tenacioustaut

I agree about your opinion of the Hull Note.

But in unit 731's experiments, there are also chinese/korean people who used as the guinea pigs. How about the "Asian Brothers" slogan?

  • Comment removed

  • Again, Unit 731 was secretive

and the people used for the experiments could have been some kind of criminals.

  • There are many KINDS of people in *China*

The Hans invaded Tibet Uygur Inner Mongol and Taiwan by saying that the land ruled by Manchurians should belong to the Hans.

The Hans never ruled Tibet Uygur Inner Mongol and Taiwan. If Shan Kai Shek had not started kiIING japanese in SHanghai, the Japanese army would not have started the war again.

  • Shang kai Shek was deceived by a communist spy who wanted Japan and the Nationalist to fight and KII each other.

  • Because the Japanese army defeated the Nationalist army, the Communist could kick out the Nationalist Hans easily after the war.

  • There were formalities before the experiments.

The people ate very good food to remain healthy.

Lots of signs were necessary before the experiments.

In Manchuria, Tojo saved the lives of 50000 Jews.

The Japanese government officially told Germany that Japan would not accept the German policy agasint the Jews.

  • If you go to Palau, you will see what the Japanese soldiers there did on the Pelilu island.

The Japanese soldiers let the Palau people escape from the island, and saved their lives.

All of the soldiers died when fighting against the US led by Chester Nimitz. Nimiz loved the Japanese navy though Nimitz was a big fan of Togo who defeated Russia.

  • Do you know that Togo and the Japanese navy defeated the Russian navy?

Indonesians could have seen the Russian navy coming up to Japan.

  • @tenacioustaut

yes,i know about Admiral Heihachiro Togo,he is a Great man.

But once again about unit 731,it's really help if you can make a better explanation or maybe a spesific sites about it to explain it to the public

  • Unit731 was making biochemical weapons to fight against the Europeans effectivly.

The victims were used like animals.

  • Comment removed

  • After going to Europe, Ishi realize that Europe has lots of great biochemical weapons.

So he decided to make great biochemical weapons because Japan did not have effective weapons to fight the Europeans.

  • watch?v=-qOV2saI5kQ

    Ishi Shiro directed Unit 731

  • Most of the 80million Japanese did not know what Unit 731 was doing.

  • watch?v=Bn6PWPh6iFg&feature=related

Documents say that they used condemned criminals such as murrrders rapists

  • They did not use the biochemical weapons agaisn the US because the EMPEROR told them not to use them.

  • The US national archive says that they did the experiments in order to protect themselves from Russian biochemical weapons.

  • By the way, there are many Korean highranking officers in the Japanese military.

Shameless Koreans betrayed Japan when Japan was losing the war as Thailand did.

Japan returned the southern part of Thailand from Malaysia to Thailand, but betrayed Japan since Thailand would not want to be punished

  • @tenacioustaut

    Not Malaysia but French.

  • The French had Indochina such as Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos.

    The Dutch colonized Indonesia.

The Shameless British invaded Indonesia with the Dutch after ww2, and demanded Japan to prevent Indonesians from gaining independence.

  • @tenacioustaut How come you say british shameless? When they got to us they helped us ffor many things!

  • @Bobcoolest

The British tried to help the Netherlands to colonize Indonesia again.

  • @tenacioustaut

Thailand case is not bad. Because if they did not betray Japan, they must have been colonized by Britain or French.

Korean case is bad, they did violence to asians using Japanese authority. After the Japanese defeat, Koreans suck up Americans and commit robbery against Japanese. However Taiwanese didn't do so.

  • @googogoo1

Yeah, everybody betrays the country who is losing.

The Empire of Japan returned The southern part of Thailand to Thailand.

Koreans also did not want to be a loser and punished. There are many Korean high-ranking officers in the Japanese military.

  • @tenacioustaut thailand never betrayed japan because most thai people did not agree with thai government, when government sent messages to it ambassadors in western countries they didn t deliver message as disagreed with message thats why thailand was not punished by the british when they marched into bangkok in the last days of the war. as for korea they were forced to be allies with japan though many of its men did bad things on japanese authority, most koreans were P.O.W camp guards.

  • Japan gave the northern part of Malaysia to Thailand LOL

  • @tenacioustaut actually the thais took northern malaysia themselves in 1902 by a force hence why thailand has still got problems in whats called the "DEEP SOUTH" mostly with the muslims who want an independant state in southern thailand for themselves. The thais may not have fought against a major power in its history with the exception of Burma but the thais are no pushovers, I'm married to one and i love her despite that fact

  • The Britsh stole it from Thailand

    Japna gave them back lol

  • Every country betrays its allies when the allies are losing.

Italians did it. Koreans did, too when Japan was losing the war.

  • People who worked for Unit 731 talked about what happened there.

Those who leaked the info about Unit 731 were severely punished.

  • The Hans moved to Manchuria by THEMSELVES because the Kuganton army made Manchuria Richer.

  • Unit 731 was making biochemical weapons secretly.

The guy who plotted to take Manchuria thought that in order NOT to give in to European sanctions, Japan would need natural resources in Manchuria.

  • Kl Jepang mmg tulus mau membantu negara2 Asia lepas dari penjajahan, kenapa mereka musti menguasai kita dgn sangat ganas setelah Belanda kabur. Romusha, perbudakan sex, pembantaian dll.

MERDEKA and LONG LIVE FOR OUR RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INDONESIA-JAPAN!!!

  • You love Japan for helpiong out Indonesians to gain independence?

    MERDEKA

itu nama laksamana namanya laksamana maeda,, bukan takeda

  • Ya iya..loe aja yg benar.. Kami org Msia engga.

  • check out "pacific trailer HBO" it is going to be the best series ever.

  • gue dah ntn film ni n pnya dvdnya kshnya sngt jauh dri ksah sejarah perjuangan bngs kita n seolah jepanglah yg kasih kmerdekaan bngs kta, pdhal jepang justru penjajah bngsa indonesia, salah satunya ROMUSA itu

  • share dong filmnya kk ^^'

  • the truth is...

Banayka diantara mereka yg kecewa & akhirny sama2 indo berjuang mengusir sekutu!!

Jd jangan so tau "The truth is"

  • first Japan said want to make us freedom, but it just propaganda!! after Japan got many lose from US, they leave Indonesia and there is no power in Indonesia, but some japanese soldiers still in Indonesia and joined Indonesian troops. So, we made our freedom by ourselves without intervention of other country

  • if you find it difficult to leave comments in english just stick to your bahasa miskindonesia haahha yahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • hey matburik balik sana ke kandang babi

  • You are almost right.

However, you misunderstand only one thing.

Japanese don't claim " We gave the freedom for asia".

Japanese want to say, " we had another justice, and based on it, we supported Asian independence." not "give" but "support" OK?

  • generasi muda d jepang gak tau apa yg diperbuat engkong2nya dinegara2 jajahan kyk indonesia pas jaman perang..

mereka dibohongi kebanggaan terhadap bangsa mereka sndiri...ckckck

  • Wah...

  • Wah ni film propaganda abis nie...parah nie film...

Nah nie film seolah2 mereka membantu INDONESIA melawan belanda...

Gak da dalam sejarah mereka bantu tu, wah parah banget lah...

  • heheheh this is another propaganda film.. this film want to teach their young generation of their invade to indonesia is to help indonesia from dutch colony....

  • Why? It was better to be under dutch domination?

  • i was better to be free country

there is no country who ike under occupation

  • Imperial Japan was working with the Java Government for full independence from day 1, this is true. It is also true that the Japanese did not take their eyes off Borneo as a source of energy or future colonization.

But what is also true is that after Japan lost, these 2000 men stayed behind in Indonesia and trained, helped, and fought alongside these men when the Dutch came back to 'take back' their country. It was the Indonesians that wanted Independence. The Japanese just helped give a hand

  • 2000? how many from indonesian people who died because romusha?

  • so how many people died because romusha... are all japanese soldier was good? how about mass killing in singaparna, aceh, java and many more?

  • Took you the japanese to help out eh? Secondly, colonial empires such us the dutch treated your people like sub-humans. If you look at the name of the areas controlled by japan at the time its called asia co-prosperity sphere and not even under the name of an empire. many indonesians welcomed japan as liberators from your harsh white european masters. maybe you should thank the japanese for that taste of independence

  • where can i find this film?

  • japanese soldiers?? with there systematic torture, rape, beating of prisoners and a human rights record that puts the terminator to shame????

you should be called angry asian guy your probaly british or american anyway,

no westerner wants to be japanese but you obviously would like a slice of the western world as the amount of emmigration from your country suggests

  • Hey, they were pretty cruel, but they weren't as bad as modern china.

  • If you experience the torture, you would never say that. Why do you think Korean Chinese and rest of Asian countries cannot forget what Japanese did during WWII? Go check "Japanese war crimes" at en.wikipedia

  • Go search some movies on "China Human Rights Abuses" before you open your mouth. 48 Million People were reputed to have died in Mao's so-called "Great Leap Forward" alone.

  • How about Iraq then and civil rights movement in US? You check it befor eyou open your mouth.

I dont think you are from US. Another Jap pretend to be non-Jap? Which state are you from?
