  • To anyone who has this issue. I am 100% sure it is the Tension Strut. Its a ball joint and they are notorious on these cars. But these cars are not trash lol. Please dont comment when you own a honda civic.

  • dear Chrysler, is saving a couple cents on every part worth your reputation, time, and safety of the consumer

  • It could be that the bolts at the top of the strut tower need to be re-touqued. I have a whole lot of suspension work done that didn't resolve the clunking. When I took it back, the mechanic tightened the upper strut mount bolts and the problem was solved.

  • I have a 06 300 and get a knuckle rattling noise when I go through rough pavement. I changed ball joints, control arms, inner and outer tie rods and nothing! Can it be the strut mounts maybe?? Changed struts before but never the mounts?? Thanks

  • @SonidoImperial Tension struts. Ive replaced both of mine. It looks almost like a dog bone with a ball joint on one end. 100% sure.

  • take care of rebuilt galiper , sometime the hole for the bolt is to big , not visible but at low speed and bumpy road , sound exactly like that

  • Complete garbage. I drive one for work and it sucks. At least 3-5k per year in garage bills.

  • Mine is clunking since 8 month ago because of all what ledbulbz said but I will never fix it cause several month and it will go bad again it is not the car mistake it is State of Qatar Roads and streets problem

  • @huasi87 Does it clunk in the center under the console? If so, mine does the same thing on rough roads. Piece of crap.

  • @mahmahmonkey I hate people who buy a car and when a simple ball joint goes this the car is a peice of shit. Every piece of machinery has parts that wear and tear. Its people's ignorance and failure to educate themselves about the vehicle they drive.

  • @Bizzair1990 Ball joints are fine. Dealer has been unable to diagnose clunk. Fortunately, it's a company car and I don't need to pay the 3k per year in various repairs. The car's a junk and has been since day one. We have several in our fleet and they are all the same. I could provide a three page list of repairs since this vehicle was new. I have educated myself and that is not to purchase another Chrysler. I've owned 30+/- cars in my life and Chryslers have consistently been the worst.

  • Hello guys/gals! Here are the parts that can cause the clunking/rattling sound: *Sway bar bushings(Check this 1st, they are cheap) *Tension struts<---these may be called something else at the parts store.. *Inner tie rods *Wheel axle bearings. If you wheel wiggles when jacked up, this might be it too. *Strut/shock *Ball Joint(Check this last, expensive too) **Also, BRAKE pads can clunk at low speeds and small bumps. I will put up videos soon on my page from my 300C soon... Good luck!!!
  • Tie rod ends dont make clunking noises... weak Rack ends do

  • i have a 93 seville sts with BAD front suspension noise even on paved roads here it rattling. anyone know?

  • these cars are trash

  • @dandeville81 fuc u

  • @dandeville81 lol

  • @dandeville81 LOL Because you cant afford one... LOL

  • I had the same problem. Changed almost everything in the front end, right down to the steering column, Turns out i needed a brake bushing kit. That fixed it.

  • you can get it at any Dodge/Chrysler garage.

  • and you proably had the same issue, cause if you look at the video from :11 to :33 you may see that the lower control arm moves when the wheel was being wiggled and thats not suppose to move

  • I found my problem on my 300, it was the front bushings on the lower control arm, at first thought it maybe the tie rods but after wiggleling the disc with out the tire with a lil bit of force i was able to see that the arm was moving in and out and thats suppose to be idler at all times, the outer tie rods has to have some movement cause its a nuckle to the stearing

  • I had the same problem I thought it was the cv joint, but it turn out because I put new rims on my car they didn't correctly fit I had to put spaces on the centre bolt a very cheap fix and now all is good... Do your steeling wheel shake after 100km/h if so thats what it is...

  • spacers on center bolt

  • mine is almost snapped since i put my rims back on

  • inner tie rod

  • damit that noise sucks got 22 on my 300 an i gotta get all that repaired now new sway bar links tie rods inner an outers an ball joinsts..my point in all this DONT LOWER YOUR CAR.,,,no matter how ill you think it will look..cuz now its sounds like my car is from 1995 instead of 05

  • Did you find it? I had a really bad one after i lowered and i had my strut changed. That cleared that up but last month i heard another clunk that only happens once in a while.
