  • I was born and raised in Hindu relegion. But after when through somuch stress and sickness for I was taughted in Hinduism, I started going church and reading BIBLE found that I have broken GOD'S Commandments and learning, that JESUS CHRIST is THE ONLY ONE said what HE said, but no one else said. That HE is THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE but no one comes to THE FATHER but through HIM. and predicted HIS death (for all humans' sins) and resurrection and there are so much more HE said and did it.

  • Atheism -The belief of not to believe....LOL

  • I just watched some of your videos for the first time and I wanted to say I really respect you. I live in the midwest United States and am an Atheist. Atheism isn't very accepted around here and it is sad how people view Atheists. I would love to have an actual conversation with you but I'm sure you get that all the time. I hope you keep making videos.

  • @leewatcher are you calling all religous people arrogant or just the stupid ones that think anything that isn't their religion is wrong?

  • @TheChinababy that's low. i may not be atheist myself, but many of my friends are. being blind doesn't have anything to do with being atheist. we havethe right to be religous or not, ya know!

  • NO WONDER YOUR BLIND , YOUR ATHEIST

  • @TheChinababy Not sure if that was a pathetic attempt to troll, or a comment made by a arrogant religious child.

  • To the claim that "God is an abstract explaination" is very ignorant. "God" is an obstructive explaination that gives more questions than it answers. Theism doesn't require science to back it up because it is not scientific. Duh! That's why theism is so darn easy to discredit. The twenty first century has brought forth reason and intelligence coupled with vast knowledge and technology to show that the universe we are in, the one that we are a part of, requires no creator at all.

  • ( cont' 2) Natural selection, or evolution or whatever you want to call it, is very observable, even human evolution is. Homo sapien, homo halibus, homo erectus, and so on. There's no room to explain it here; I reccommend visiting a museum or library for the complete explaination. That aside, were did life come from in the first place so that it can evolve? Well, chemistry and the formation of self replicating molecules explains that. Again, read a library book.

  • ( continued ) Life, though appearing complex to us, also follows the natural laws of our universe. You can pet your dog knowing that ten thousand years ago, its ancestor was a wild, undomesticated wolf. Only recently have different dog breeds come to being. You can say the same of many livestock animals. You can observe evolution in creatures and flora in your back yard. You can grow a culture of bacteria that can evolve to be able to digest citric acid, it has been done before.

  • Chance....the legitamate explaination is chaos. The remarkable thing is that the human species has invented a word to describe it. Quantum mechanics explains the way in which our universe arrose from a vaccuum, a "false" vaccuum as it has been named. This has not only been proven mathematically, but observation of black holes has show the infamous "Hawking radiation" that occurs along the horizon of these celestial bodies.

  • how do you use the computer without being able to see the comments nd things like tht also do you enjoy listening to the tv since you cant watch it

  • @goosebumpsgirlgirly4

She already made a video showing how she does it called "How A Blind Chick Uses A Computer". (Spoiler: Keyboard shortcuts and a text-to-speech program.)

  • (3rd paragraph con't)...Anyway, I've subscribed to your channel as I love hearing from intelligent thinking people. I love your beautiful voice and your way of expressing yourself. I wish you all the best. Perhaps my story will give you questions, or perhaps not. Either way, I believe that there is great meaning in life for both of us, even though we have a theological worldview 180 degrees apart. May Peace be With You, keep making vids! :)

  • (con't)..other people when they die, but I do know that I was surrounded by and drawn towards a bearded man surrounded by light that radiated mercy, compassion, love, goodness, and a freedom from pain (I had bled to death--i.e. my heart stopped). So, I think it's very silly that man saying that atheists just die to become a tree! Who knows, that might be the way of it, and I could be wrong. But based on my experience, there is Something beyond death that is full of lovingkindness and freedom...

  • Hello athiestblindchick, thank you for making your videos. I am a Muslim, and a theist, AND I believe that it's vital to the continued growth of communal knowledge to question, to ask, to look for answers. My faith gives me comfort in the routine of five daily prayers, & the existence of One True God. I base this faith on an experience I had when I died in 1988 in a Philadelphia ER. Before I was revived, I had an out of body experience that led me to Islam. I don't know what happens to...

  • @Marilynn33

When people relate conversion stories that involve dreams/out-of-body experiences/flashes of feelings/etc.. I am very curious about how they come to their specific religion from that experience. The Islamic god isn't unique at all in appearing as a bearded man, or being attributed those qualities you mentioned. So how would you determine that you are in the right religion, or if there even is a correct one?

  • Truth is relative... tell them what they need to hear. I love your mindful answers, even if they aren't what people want them to be. Sorry people, her job is not to make you happy. Keep up the good work.

  • What sort of an answer would do Mr blobby did it ? Its as good an answer as the other unsubstantiated one. Postulating god does nothing to provide an answer as to how we got here! Its not a who done it. How was it done.

  • Awesome video. Subbed!

  • Could you narrate my life?

  • Thank you! I love this video.

  • The video linked in the s description has been deleted. Was it the same video we're seeing now or the "ten questions" ?

  • i think your answer is eliquent, and clear and to the point. inspires me to imagine, which sparks curiosity. their is a videoSkeptical Idealism 2.0 by cckeiserINFJ which i feel would add to your points made.

  • There is a saying in the Orient which goes something like this

'The person who knows everything knows nothing, the person who knows nothing knows everything'

Your video was about the best example I've seen of putting that philosphical idea into practice - I say that having no idea as to whether you agree with that idea in the first place.

  • I love you :)

  • "Unlike religion, science doesn't pretend to know everything."

    ~Richard Dawkins

  • very well done!!

    5 stars!!

  • Perfectly answered, my sister in reason. Thank you!

  • Thanks, you made a very good point! after 5 years of being an atheist, I never though of it this way.

  • "the truth is atheists have no answers to the beginning of existence and religions do."

"atheists can't explain where they came from" we can loosely explain threw science that simple things began multiplying and joining and creating more complex life and up to this point we have our species. And most notably there's a difference between explanation and truth. both science & religion can be wrong about life. but science revises and accepts change unlike religion. w931 is a very deluded person

  • Care to tell me why? Do you believe it's better to make something up than to admit you don't know and actually look for the answers?

  • I feel you have unfairly dodged the question and have not defended your stance.

You've readily atheism without accepting its core beliefs or its justifications.

I realize that some people prefer science over theism and that is their choice, but science is science. Science does not give you lease to say that you can't prove anything so whatever. To play by science's rules demands that you have examined the evidence and deem atheism to be the most probable conclusion.

  • In this life there are some who close their eyes to science and there are some who have closed their eyes to theism which is a somewhat more defensible stance, but you have mind bogglingly done both.

Attacking theism based on past transgressions and a lack of curiosity is not a valid argument; would you accept an attack on atheism past on the past transgressions of atheist. Do you follow atheism as thoughtlessly as a religious zealot follows their religion, if not what are your justifications?

  • "You've readily atheism without accepting its core beliefs or its justifications."

    There is no core "beliefs"

It's only a lack of a belief. That's all atheism is.

"To play by science's rules demands that you have examined the evidence and deem atheism to be the most probable conclusion."

Well, we can already discard the probability that a non-existent man exists. A god fits all the criteria of non-existence, so saying one exists is essentially saying "non-existence exists"

    It's illogical.

  • The core of atheism is the belief that there is no creator. BlindAtheistChick has failed to meet this requirement as she herself has said that she doesn't know.

A total lack of belief is agnosticism.

The last portion of your comment is difficult to understand: Probability of a non existent man existing? Obviously, man exists, therefore he cannot be non-existent. Criteria for God's non-existence? Is the criteria limited solely to you not believing? Well those are some pretty lax criteria.

  • She said she doesn't know the origins of the universe.

There are many things science doesn't know, but that doesn't mean we default to: "I know! a non-existent man did it!"

  • The origin of the universe argument runs parallel to the theist vs atheist argument.

It is unscientific to say that, surely in the future, we will discover what the origin of life is and it won't be a god.

  • "It is unscientific to say that, surely in the future, we will discover what the origin of life is and it won't be a god."

Origin of life may never be known, but Miller and Urey proved that life can come from non-life. From 4 elements: ammonia, water, hydrogen, and methane.

So the "a god shit us out" argument is out the window at this point.

It's also unscientific to say that, surely in the future, we will discover what the origin of the universe is and it will be a god.

  • Miller and Urey? Do explain why scientists felt the burning need to re examine 55 year old samples of questionable quality rather than repeat the experiment with modern equipment.

  • they created lipids, fatty acids, amino acids, etc.

    Building blocks of life.

It doesn't matter if the experiment was done a thousand years ago.

Organic material *can* come from non-organic material

Say it with me now class!

    "Life can come from non-life"

  • How do you know that the organic material discovered in the re-examined samples was actually from the experiment? Can you guarantee that no contamination occurred over *55* neglectful un-methodical years? and why didn't he publish the results from what would appear to be his finest experiment? If it was his best data he should have presented it, but he didn't which leads me to believe he knew there was something wrong with it.

Again, why not repeat the experiment with modern equipment?

  • "When he [Jeffrey Bada] reran the experiment, he still got the same watery liquid as Miller did in 1983, but this time it was chock-full of amino acids. Bada presented his results the last week of March, 2007 at the American Chemical Society annual meeting in Chicago."

  • @supasonicman

The Miller and Urey experiment is not a singular event. When you perform a scientific experiment, you document the tools and methods and procedures you used so that others can reproduce it. It's not just a 55 year old sample of questionable quality. It's also a 54, 53, 28, 9, 2, 1, and everyday experiment with a wide variety of equipment and techniques, subject to reproducibility and peer review. We reference it because they deserve credit for their findings, which remain fact.

  • actually penn just put up a video calling i don't know b.s.

  • I really like your videos and know that you must be an inspiration to many. Keep your wonderful videos coming.

  • Good work!

  • God damn it this video was good! Great background music, intriguing accent and very articulate responses to some very ignorant questions. Great job.

  • EXACTLY!!!!!

  • You took the words right out of my mouth, well done.

  • The point of religion is to make up an answer to a hard question. Really, even if you don't know what 1+1+1 is, it's better to say "I don't know" than to say "4" (or for Christians who believe in the trinity, "1"), and then defend that answer to the death and refuse to admit you're wrong when you find out that the answer is 3.

I am also disturbed by theists' ridicule of the idea that our bodies decompose when we die. I mean, regardless of whether there's a soul, everyone's body will rot away.

  • hello athiestblindchick, thank you so much for making your videos. i find your views and your delivery of them so enjoyable and entertaining. please keep making them!

also, can i ask the name of the piece of music you're playing in the background here? it's beautiful.

  • Thanks.

    It's Rachmaninov's Cellosonata in G. minor

  • The video was removed from him. Haha.

He might have seen your answer.

  • Excelent response. And we are the arrogant ones, who think we have all the answers! From from their literature I can see fundamentalist christians make a big deal on getting answers, even if they need to make up from their asses. Wonder where the myths come from.

  • you make the best atheist videos on youtube.

  • I'm a Christian, and I believe in creation, but your answers to these questions are extremely logical and intelligent, unlike the assertions made by the uninformed "Christian" questioner. I am considered legally blind, myself, but my faith is not that blind. I believe in God partly because logic doesn't allow me to come to any other conclusion that is satisfactory to me, and also because I want to believe what the Bible says about God is true.

  • Atheism doesn't appear to offer any hope for the for the future, nor does it seem to offer any explanation as to the purpose of life. I obviously don't believe atheists are right, but as you say, know one knows, beyond the possibility of doubt anyway, the absolute truth. But I have enough faith to believe I know Who does. One thing I really love about God is that He's not a bigot like so many people who call themselves Christian and atheists seem to be. Best wishes to you!

  • Thanks. You are entitled to your opinion, however, wanting something to be true, doesn't make it so. I don't mean to insult, but wishful thinking is not a good tool in this world. However much I might want to win the lottery, chances that I do are slim to nothing, especially since I don't play...

  • How do you mean that atheism does not offer hope for the future? It isn't meant to and it doesn't presume to. Atheism is not a philosophy, there are no underlying principles or dogma. Atheists have many different opinions, and the only thing in common is the fact they don't believe in a god/gods. So no, it doesn't offer anything, you need to find out for yourself.

    Absolute truth is absolutely frightening...

  • Thank you for allowing me the freedom to be entitled to my own opinion. My belief, however, is based on logic, not just faith or wanting it to be so. I really have nothing to prove. I just find it hard to put as much faith in science as my atheist friends do. Science has its own heresies, and has proven itself wrong on numerous occasions.

  • I find more comfort in interpreting the evidence that does exist which points to an intelligent Designer, than believing the "evidence" that has yet to appear that might prove there isn't. As to the idea that Atheism offers no hope for the future, I think that is self-evident, but, again, that's just my opinion, and you apparently agree with me at least on some level. Absolute truth is not the least bit scary to me, because I am settled in my belief and faith in my Creator.

  • You are, of course, free to believe what you will. If I am believing in a fairy tale as many, if not all, atheists seem to think, then how does that hurt me? Absolute truth will in the end sort all that out. Best wishes to you.

  • Science has nothing to do with faith. Science has had some frauds in the past. They have all been revealed to be frauds. Science is a self correcting mechanism. The wrongs of the past do not invalidate the findings of the present. I dare you to find anything false with any scientific theory.

  • I dare say you'd want me to find fault with any scientific theory that supports the creation model, but I have no burden to prove anything. There are many reasons to question the evolutionary model in terms of origins, but, again, I have not burden to prove that to you. You can look at the same evidence I would and draw your own conclusions. I'm not interested in debating you.

  • Great video. I agree whole-heartedly.

  • Of some things All men are ignorant and of All things some men are ignorant...

There is no shame in ignorance... such is the basis for the acquisition of knowledge.

However, ignorance of ignorance (a category familiar to religion) = stupidity

  • So true. You're still wasting your time on this brand guy? it's like screaming at a deaf person, or making faces at me, utterly useless...

  • Well, I must confess to deriving a modicum of pleasure from tackling the religious fruitcakes that ooze from the US of A.

Good to note that a fellow Celt (I detect Scotland in your intonation) appreciates the normality of reason, rationale and logic.

I am Irish. John is my name.

  • Tha mi toilichte do choinneachadh, John (I don't speak Irish gaelic, but it's close enough...)

Yes, it's fun for a little while, but you have to know when to stop. I loved it when he declared himself the 'winner'. Ah, we need all kinds... Or do we...

  • My knowledge of Irish is dismal.

Ah ha... Took a while to find a translation.

"Pleased to meet you too" , namelees one from Scotland.

You might enjoy catholic dot ie

If you need a description of the visuals let me know.

  • I know that one, Rozeboosje had a video on it. It's the one with the pope and the starwars like comments, right?

  • Absolutely right..

    Hmmm..

She is 3 steps ahead of me...

I note that "Rozeboosje" is also of Irish origin.

  • Actually, (whatever your name is), Brandt has just apologised to me. Perhaps I should try making faces at you now !!

  • Just call me ABC lol

Anyway, you weren't so accepting, and he just said lets agree to disagree, we're all people. Why then did he make his video?!

HEY! Why are you making such an ugly face at me?!

  • True...

I have no problem with people holding bizarre beliefs. But, when they shove their nonsenses in my face it irritates.

Certainly, it is true that Brandt's credibility is slim.

Americanised organised religious deception is another matter. Disingenuous mass-marketing by AIG, the 'discovery institute', 'access research', 'the institute for creation research'... deserves comtempt.

'ABC' that was not me. I smileth.

  • Perfectly said!

    Katalyzt

  • That's a great answer.

  • Thanks for making this video. It is concise, to the point, and perhaps the best rebuttals I have seen to one of these Christian challenge videos on YT. Very intelligent remarks.

  • great

  • great video

  • Excellent

  • great video!!

    ~kissez~

  • Great vid. Congrats.

  • If we knew everything then perhaps theists would be extinct! ... Great video!

  • excellent response, Atheistblindchick!

  • I'd probably say...

Well first of all he's demanding a simple answer for a complex question. And he's asking two separate things. like he assumes life AND Existence happened at the same time.

But if you really want an answer; Big Bang and Abiogenesis.

  • "Tree". I don't know whether to laugh or groan when I hear the "Tree" strawman. I mean, of all the things Theists should be able to figure out for themselves, how do they get "Rot in the ground" wrong?

  • yes, indeed, well done.

  • Isn't great to be in a position where you don't have to lie to yourself! I am so glad to hear someone expose the arrogance of the idea that the answers to all the universe's mysteries are found in an ancient book of myths. Keep making great videos! By the way, I know you've heard it a hundred times thus far, but the accent truly is charming. :)

  • Excellent vid 5*

  • ABC,

That would be akin to asking a theist why they think their God is the real authentic religion. Why would they're gods be any different to the many gods and ways of theist worship? I would like to see a theist take a whack at those with out cracking crisp leather bound to verse and chapter.

  • I have had this argument with people of " blind faith" in the states for years. But it does not seem to sink in and keep on thinking that they are the humble sort of people and keep calling atheists arrogant.

Maybe there is arrogance in trying to understand things that we may never be able to understand, but how would we know if we don't at least try. As an atheist, that is one of the many places where I find meaning to this life...

No bible has shown me as much wonders as science has...

  • Oh yes,

    Brilliantly done!!!

  • The meaning of life!...let's ask Brian!!!

We can spend an entire life time searching for the meaning of life and we will never get know for sure.

So let's all just have a party while we are here and concentrate on finding a way of going to other planets to party on because it's getting boring on Earth, with all these religious zelots and dogmantists.

All together now...we all live in a yellow sumbarine, a yellow submarine...

  • Excellent video.

    Keep the speculative nature alive.

  • awesome

  • I actually do know where we come from, and what the meaning of life is. We come from the great irate hamster god, and our purpose is to do the banana dance to his amusement. So it is written, so is the truth.

  • I like your accent! :D

    5/5

  • IMHO, it is better to admit that I don't know something rather than to willfully hold on to a belief that is demonstrably false or inconsistent with reality.

  • Very well put. I guess anyone can have the wrong answer. Searching for truth amongst doubt is dangerous and scary but I can't think of any other way to be.

My family were philatelists (non practicing) and I got into it out of obligation. As I grew and started thinking for myself I decided I was aphilatelist, now I'm not so sure but I do think some of the stamps are pretty.

  • Glad you got out of philately. Yes, stamps are pretty, but don't get sucked back in by mere beauty!

  • Wow, great video - couldn't have been said better. Faved.

  • So many people see the world in black or white, when it's really various shades of gray. We all die, we'll find out what's after death eventually. (or we won't be around to care) People like this charming person are just afraid, afraid of what's inevitable... death. We don't know where we came from or where we're going, and anyone claiming to know is a fool!

  • Hah! He's removed the video! That makes me laugh my evil laughter. Loud!

  • It's actually a bit sad. How wonderful it would have been for him to explain himself, and his reasons for regretting posting it (if he did).

It might have been surprisingly pleasant. It would take great strength.

[Note: I never saw his video.]

  • There's part of his video in mine. Unfortunately, he somehow felt the need to take down his channel. Too bad.

  • Not knowing is horrifying to theists.

  • What msginca said 5/5!

  • Your thinking and messages are always dead on ... but your tone combined with the beautiful voice and enchanting accent make the delivery magical ... but not in a supernatural way of course!

  • *blush*

  • hey we should not make fun of him.

    :-)

my be he is thinking of becoming and atheist.

    could it be?

  • You know, I have an idea that this was a sock account. His voice is familiar, but I can't place it. Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

  • you are right his voice is familiar..

    yes i agree with that

  • Brilliant!

  • he is out there planning his next ignorant video.

  • :-)

    MeIoco you are right

    its gone

but he is still out there

may be planing his next move

    ;-)

  • Apparently you completely owned this guy because he took his video down lol

Another outstanding video thank you A.B.C

  • His channel's gone too

  • i have seen the movie it really funny

  • You should really try the books, they're much funnier than the movie.

  • You should change your name to BrilliantAtheistBlindchick. you are spot on. My girl crush is now girl love and admiration....you are awesome. Keep thinking, keep questioning.

  • Thanks!

You're not too bad yourself, girl!

  • I second that motion.

  • Life and existence. A great question.

    I agree that i don`t know.

It could be that all life on earth is just a

    parasite on it`s host(earth).

    All life has it`s cycle.

    Birth, procreate death.

Our genes are transferred to our offspring to

    carry on the cycle.

  • silly christians with their false answer.the true answer to life, the universe and everything has been revealed to the chosen people.just because they can not understand the sublime beauty that is 42 does not excuse them their willful ignorance.

  • NemoUtopian:The chosen people?

    Who might they be?

  • I guess you didn't get the 42 reference. HHGTTG FTW

(Douglas Adams - Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy)

  • anyone luck enough to have read the book,or watched the bbc tv series,or listened to the radio show "the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy"(the movie was meh)

  • Not just one book, there's 5 and the Salmon of Doubt (which he unfortunately never finished)

    I love HHGTTG!

  • i was simply stating were the answer was found(though it is in the hitch hiker to the galaxy movie,i consider the movie to be heretical in nature, thus it does not count.)

  • I agree completely!

  • 1. Truth or the absolute truth can only be a personal thought.

    2. Since truth is subject to human perception it can have different meanings for different people, thus by this definition absolute truth is or will be hard to archive, not until the science has developed an understanding.

    3. So all we have to do is wait or/and may be think to so that we can help the scientific community world.

    4. Truth has to be reached upon by every one for it to be true.

    5. So wait and think.

  • and what was it about a tree, that person was talking about.

it would be cool if i could be a tree after death.

    thats what i call wonderful

  • part1

I don't feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without any purpose, which is the way it really is as far as I can tell. It doesn't frighten me. -- Richard Feynman (interview with Christopher Sykes, in "The Pleasure of Finding Things Out," BBC-TV, 1981

  • KasparHauser4: Until this god reveals itself to me in public for all to see, it remains a delusion to the believers.

  • now we come to delusion it can be shared by many which means they will share the same conclusion, which is a belief in knowing the truth "god".

but truth no matter what it is, has to be a common knowledge and understanding.

god unfortunately is not the truth.

since it is based on an uncommon knowledge and no understanding.

  • How exactly does an existance where your sole purpose is worshipping a superior creature for all eternity seem comforting? O_o

    Great video as always.

  • Yes, one of the characteristics of any scientist is that they will say "I don't know"

when they don't know, often followed by their best current guess/hypothesis. Religious people put cement into their brains when they claim to have an answer to everything. It takes jack hammers to bust them out of their delusions!

  • "Where does life and existence come from?"

These are two very different questions.

    1. The difference between life and non-life is just an arbitrary line in the sand. For example, people can't even agree as to whether a virus is alive or not. However, many of the chemical reactions that lead from "non-life" to "life" are well understood, others are less well understood, and others are the subject of exploration.

  • 2. The question is silly. Existence, by definition, is. To ask where existence came from is to imply a pre-existing existence, which is a contradiction.

  • Great answer, very nice soundtrack too.

  • Very nice indeed. Of course, giving a thoughtful intelligent answer to a religious person is like whistling a tune in a hurricane. They will never hear it. Also like your choice of music, so many videos have really awful sound tracks that can make the message unwatchable.

  • I love classical music, Rachmaninov is one of my favourites, and I find this kind of music actually helps me think.

  • I like Rachmaninov too. Did you know he isn't really an ethnic Russian but of Tatar decent?

  • No, but I do know his hands were huge and that not every pianist can play his pieces because of reach.

  • And you know what they say about guys with big hands ! They have better chances to play Rachmaninov's repertoire...

Sorry I am just immature that way...

  • what does that person mean by "intelligent atheist" are there any other kind of atheist i don't know about.

    :-)

i came from my mom,9 months was a long journey, where did he come from, thin air?

now that's what i call pathetic.

    excellent reply ABC.

    PEACE

  • There is not an over arching objective meaning of life, but so what?An over all meaning of life is not needed to attribute meaning to our actions and the actions of others.Christians are told that the purpose of their life is a test from god.If there is no god "THEY" have lost something. They only miss it because they have been brain washed into thinking that all meaning comes from that test from god.

  • There is no meaning to life. We need not lord over all; have all the answers. How arrogant an attitude!

How are you reading these comments?

  • She explains how in another video of hers.

  • Exactly, it is arrogance.

    As for your question:

    watch?v=en5wzmZ1Q0I

  • Thank you! And you have THE coolest accent and voice! 'Who's gonna be Gregory's girl?'

  • ...

  • What does that mean?--sorry.

  • LOL

That just meant '...' as in, I have no words.

  • Oh, and that was meant as a positive remark.

  • LoL!!!

  • right on sista!!

  • I found the meaning of life in the dictionary

  • you shouldnt limit yourself to a dictionary, they are a snap shot of time and language evoles. dictionaries are not the "end all" source of knowledge. but it is good to be literate!!

  • ...It was somewhat of a joke actually, a literal & sarcastic answer to people pretentiously seeking a [spiritual] "meaning" to life beyond the simple definement of what a life is. Also, the dictionary definition of life is quite thorough & up to date so although I completely agree with you on the dictionary's function [ as I was already aware of it ] I believe it's pretty reliable for giving an accurate definition of what life is. Otherwise it comes down to a matter of semantics & colloquialisms

  • I hope speaking in text tone & the 500 character limit didn't make my last comment come off the wrong way but anyway; I believe that words such as "meaning" & "life" are being substituted for ( lack of better words) something more appropriate like e.g. one's resone d'etre. That is to that germs don't exactly seek a purpose, yet are alive so life isn't the right word in this language to describe what it is we want to understand, which seems to be "purpose" which leads me back to my joke lol

  • I found breasts in the dictionary.

  • i found gullible!

  • Birdtrooper

LOL, Why didn't I think of that?

  • Oh I hate feeling lethargic or exhausted while typing, I always end up looking back later and seeing errors i.e. I didn't notice I made so many mistakes in the comment referencing reson d'etre. Well luckily they're obvious enough as typos, I suppose.

LoL yeh, the dictionary's also good for answering the commonly heard question of as to what love is
