From a young 18 year old person like myself who wants to be a stand up comedian, I find this man inspiring. He's simply hilarious. His manorisms are really funny. His style sort of reminds me a bit of andy kaufman and zach galifinakis (probably spelled his name wrong... the guy from the hang over) Pretty sure a lot of this is improv... I loved the "I'm afraid you will never know who gave me this watch!" line... also the 7up bit.. hilarious. What an amazing man.
sorry... I knew that he played piano, I meant does he ever actually play the mozart piece in this act? It seems like with these videos all his playing has been cut, kinda ruined it.. I'm left wanting to hear him play that mozart piece and I never get it.
What a fantastic man, truly gifted and funny without having to resort to swearing and smut. I have just read his biography and really recommend to anyway that can get hold of a copy. A wonderful man and thanks to whoever posted these wonderful clips for all to see. RIP Victor

You have to watch "part 1" first, because it's a tie-in. He's referring to the fact that most of the time you see what Mozart looks like it's a bust (statue) on someone piano or table.
did you see the first half? because in the first half he talks about how mozart was only from the shoulders up because all replicas of mozarts were busts.

@tomasz1641 He performed in Danish, Swedish, German, and English; he never had an English lesson in his life; just picked it up from watching movies and listening to people - amazing.
oh how i want to hear the viennese waltzes!! :'( I can't find the Viennese waltz no. 2 by Gartner/Friedman that he plays...not as a sound file anyway.
Im proud to be named Victor. lol, and im swedish, damnit....so close. EmilyGreene, its Denmark, if you were proud to be a Dane, you would no how to spell it. Lol
I DID say I was part Danish. lol Pardon my spelling though, I do not get the chance to often speak or write in Danish very often, outside of my mother's family.
Well, that depends on if she wrote it in danish or in english. But since you're swedish I'm sure that you know that Denmark in danish, is Danmark, with an a instead of an e. And I agree with Victor Borge. The "th" is difficult to say for a dane..
What a marvellous talent and a great loss to the classical and comedic world - he was truly one of those rare individuals with loads of talent and yet who was down-to-earth and kind in private. Indeed what a loss! I agree with those who said they're proud to be Danes because of him - I'm part Danish as well and he truly was one of Danmark's finest!
I myself am an American "mutt" and don't have any Danish blood, but I totally agree! I saw him perform on Public TV and was hooked immediately. Thanks to everyone who posts his stuff here on Youtube!
Thanks for the memories. A True Gentleman of Entertainment. Victor Berge. Gone Never Forgotten....

One thing that i've noticed about Borge, and also Robin Williams is that they both use the audience for comedy... And not in an offensive way;)

mozart was "from the shoulders up" (joke)
so when the Japanese people take your picture and only get from your shoulders down to your feet, "the rest is mozart"
vfirthnova 2 years ago 3

Mozart is usually represented as a bust, i.e. head and shoulders only.

@coffemuse that and Mozart being a "bust" (as in, a failure, a 'bust') is funny too!
