@TheStudioJarvis You have to buy a separate library for these instruments. There are like 5 different libraries with different categories of instruments, this one would probably be orchestral.
I love this! Are the midi instruments ones that are already included with Garageband or have you bought them seperately? If so, which are you using? Keep it up, you're really good at this!
@sxephlI in fact the whole thing sounded abit like spiderman, it was well made, one thing though. personally i would have had the little tune that was on its own at 3.06 also at the end and fading out when all the other music finished. :)
hey, great job here! I'm also trying to compose for Garageband but I need that midi keyboard. Are you using the one Apple sells? I want to write original music for an RPG I'm making in the program called RPGMaker VX based off of Miki Higashino's works in the game Suikoden, something with ethnic instruments as you don't hear that too often is video games, let alone RPG's.
this piece is amazing..I compose music as well on garageband..i have been told that I was great..but this...no..THIS is great...keep it up...I would love to hear more from you
That was awesome! Have you had any formal composition or theory lessons? I attached one of my videos of a song I made using garageband. If you're interested, I'd really appreciate it if you'd check it out.
Awesome, from one composer to another! 8^D I also use Garageband to compose, but am nowhere near the proficiency you are at, ha ha. :-P I especially like how you used the brass section to build up power in certain sections.
Excellent work. for my music final this year, I have to create a composition, but I have to use loops. Which is good cause its due next week. But damn, i gotta get this program for myself at home. Is there any substitute for windows?
how do you get everything to sound so clean together? it blends real nice. how long have you been playing a musical instrument? what version of garageband is that?
you said, you play in your school's wind ensemble, as in you're in high school? This score is simply amazing, brilliant. Like someone else said, parts of it really do seem like a movie soundtrack, beautiful. This was all done over the course of a week? Wow. Kudos
hey man, your songs a really good. keep it up. doing some similar stuff myself but kinda adding electro stuff with it. just wondering though, how did you get the choirs and brass instruments, tubas and trumbones etc. i'm stuck with all the original stuff...like did you download them, buy them or wat? cheers mate.
That was ... AMAZING ... Seriously but for some reason when listening to this I imagine bank ad or age or empires lol but seriosly you are unbelievable
@bub777 The master track has settings for automation points for volume, tempo, and pitch. Under "Track" you'll see an option for 'Show Master Track.' The keyboard shortcut is Command+B.
The song is a story its self. This has so many great key elements that one of a profesionally orchestrated song would have. Congratulations bro. I love your songs! FIVE STARS
lol i'm the 5,555 view :P but anyways great job, this is one of the things that really got me started on garageband! you have an amazing talent! this sounds like it could be in a musical score for a movie! you could get a job making songs like this :) great job, great job!
Nicely done! Kinda reminds me of the new Star Trek soundtrack, very upbeat and dynamic. . .Good use of the instruments and layering- I can almost imagine some kind of space thing going on. . .
@Noruego use automatizations...... i think its spelled like that...... easy stuff, just tag it in the help bar and youll find the resat out by yourself easily....youll be able to change the panoramic position too and even control effects in the same way.....
@coolperson58946 so are did you hook it up with a cord or something? i play piano and keyboard, so i didnt know if you just clicked the buttons to play the notes on it or not (am i confusing you? haha)
OMG, THIS IS ONE THE BEST GARAGEBAND SONGS OUT THERE!!!!! this sounds like it could be in a movie soundtrack or something!!! beautiful, very eargasmic! XD u have got talent my friend. epic win
this is absolutely fabulous. i also write songs on the computer, i've never gotten around to symphonies though. i only wish i had this much talent. i could listen to this song all day. could you post a download link or something?
oh and it does sound a bit like spiderman, but i love that soundtrack, so no worries :)
Amazing my friend. I love the fantasy atmosphere it produces! 5 stars for sure. I been trying to do stuff like this but it just doesnt turn out the way I want it too most of the time.

Thanks! i thought about taking the melody from the beginning and sticking it at the end with more instrumentation, but i never really got around to trying it out.
No, its a Yamaha s08. it has 88 keys. it has a great feel but the interface could be better. if your question is asking how many keys do i use at a time in the song, then it depends. it can range from just single note melodies to 8 notes at a time in some of the brass and organ chords. if the question is asking how many keys i use out of the 88, then i use pretty much all octaves, especially in this song because it has low organ notes at c0 all the way up to notes on the glockenspiel.
just got a macbook and can't believe how easy it is to use compared to everything else - i used to use sony acid pro for windows and i am just plain sick and tired of pc/windows for home recording...
any tips for recording guitar from amp to macbook??
I completely agree. I attempted to use a windows PC to record my drum set and just ended up frustrated. I tried using my Mac mini to record and was shocked to find how straight forward and powerful garageband was. I resorted to buying an old Powerbook G4 so i didn't have to move my mac mini to and from my garage. I cant say much about recording guitar, I have only had to deal with recording my drum set. Good luck, and enjoy your new computer.
