  • What was your inspiration to become who you are?

  • im starting a bible study in my barracks 13070 with this book in 2 wks

  • I read his book, and i feel like such a horrible Christian! this really opened my eyes to show what a self-centered life i really live! im so amazed at what this book has done for me! THANK YOU GOD!

  • I absolutely LOVED this book! Flippin' life changing-

Now I want to share it with my youth group but I'd like some advise on how best to do the dvd/book series with a group-

    Any ideas?

  • I've read his book, and seen some of the vids in my guys bible study. this book has change my views and has in fact changed my life, and made me more aware of how Loving and how Gracefull God really is. I have been saved through Jesus Christ and the Greatest gift God has given us is HIs Love and Grace. I want so badly to have a sit down and talk with Frincis Chan. Praise God our Father for He is Love!!!!!

  • I'm starting this Bible study on Monday. I'm doing it with high school students, so I don't know if they will get it or not. I'm 16, but I analyze things, and dig way deeper, and honestly just care more about stuff than anyone I know my age. I'm hoping this will get to some people in my school and community to stop living according to the world and lukewarm Christianity, and live as God has called us to. This book changed my life.

  • This book was given to me as a gift almost a year ago, and sat in my top desk drawer at work because Im not much of a reader. I finally brought it home, and shared it with my room mate, who ranted about how great it was, and how it changed his life. Now he raised my curiosity to the point I HAD to read it, and I am glad I finally am reading it. It makes alot of sense to someone like myself struggling with my new Christianity identity. To think I almost missed reading this makes me sad.

  • wow... this book leaves me speechless... I am excited because we are going to take chapter 8 ("The Profile of the Obsessed") and we are going to break it up into a 13-week series for our Jr. High Sunday School Class! Each week we are going ot look at a new "charateristic" as well as one of the stories from Chapter 9!

  • i LOVE this book, I'm on chapter one and I'm taking it slow, because I don't want it to end!!

  • I am only on chapter 4 in this book thus far. I cannot wait to finish it. I am not much of a reader and really don't like to read but I cannot seem to put this book down. I have slowly began to go back to no really living for God and just accepting all the gifts he gives me and not doing anything with them. I am now with the help of this book praying and working on moving forward with my relationship with God and getting to know him more and more each day. . .

  • This book really bothers me. I much preferred to live in my own little world where going to church once a week, knowing words to worship songs and having memorized key verses was enough to keep me satisfied with my version of Christianity. Listen, I didn't like chapters 4 & 5 any more than anyone else. BUT...the truth is the truth. The grace people keep talking about was given at the cross...what you are looking for now is conviction free Christianity. It doesn't exist! Time for a change!

  • Incredible book, and I can tell that Francis was led by the Spirit when he wrote it. We will be using this book in fall 2009 at our church and in our small groups!

  • I've read this book almost twice now, and man the conviction for ignoring the "feed the hungry, homeless, take care of orphans, and widows".

This book helped me get so much closer to God, you can't possibly do enough for God, there's no way. Just like Francis Chan says, "God loves you" is such a crazy statement, our response should be just as crazy, that's Crazy Love!

There's nothing wrong with being rich, just as long as it isn't before God and most important in your life.

  • if that's the response you got from reading the book then you misunderstood Francis' point. He wasn't trying to say that God doesn't want us to live like rich people or middle class people or whatever class. He's simply telling us not to put our hopes in the riches of this world because our true treasure is in Jesus. Jesus even says that to follow him you must be able to let go of everything. If you're having a problem letting go of your luxuries then you don't truly get the picture yet.

  • @Boenairgeez I think the point is, live by grace, but in doing so don't forget His two greatest commands, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart & with all your soul &with all your mind" & "Love your neighbor as yourself." I've not arrived, by no means, but I'm praying to get there cause too often I've cared more for myself than Him or others & that isn't ok with me, that is taking advantage of His grace! If grace isn't reaping a good harvest in our lives then we've cheapen His grace!

  • Great book, can hardly wait to use dvd in small groups in my church.
