just found a copy of avon: a terrible aspect, in my favorite used bookstore, and JUST NEEDED TO HEAR THIS MUSIC by the way, if any fans are interested big finish is doing NEW audio/novel adventures slated for 2012
This tune was Dudley Simpons vision of future music. He got it wrong. Todays music is bollocks compared to this. by the way it cuts off at the end and misses out the best bit.
Nearly 35 years ago, Terry Nation imagined a future where a docile population exists under the seemingly benign rule of a fascistic State committed to perpetual war against what its propaganda claims is 'terrorism' but is just an excuse to expand survelliance, control people's thinking and ramp up military spending. Talk about innacurate predictions...
Only recently discovered this series, and eagerly devoured every episode. Unbelievable! Here in the States, in 1978, this would have NEVER made it to television, and we're the poorer for it. Possibly the greatest sci-fi series of all time. I like it so much, that I'm actually against a "re-boot." I wouldn't want to see this incredible, ground-breaking, totally unique series sullied in any way.
I can't believe the ReBoot fell through. I am usually one who despises remakes but has anyone else seen the image of the new ship? Talk about a faithful update.
@KaitainCPS I only saw one image, it was on the Blakes 7 IMDB discussion board. I can't remember which thread so I suggest you take a look at them all. I wish I could be more helpful but it was a few months ago.
I don't want to complain but, you complete twazzock!! Where's the last cuppla seconds? Can't you just reup the WHOLE track and be done with it? Still as one rugby player said to the other, "Nice try, hard luck!"
Sorts the kids out from the adults - Shakespeare managed with less special effects so he needed plot and drama and a bit of laughs, all that stuff that Hollywood sacrifices to a safe conservative storyline with boring reassuring characters (Remember how James T. Kirk used every opportunity to promote the US constitution?) to keep the kids enthralled with fireworks.
The difference between the people who appreciate classic Blakes 7, Doctor Who, Star Trek, and the like and those who just laugh at it is the difference between being able to suspend disbelief regarding the special effects and thrill at the excitement of the actual stories, ideas, and character banter. Great shows for those with brains bigger than peas.
The comforting warm final synth chord, I was waiting for it, and it didn't happen. Servalan was like my first girlfriend, A bit of semi posh fwar, but a bitch to go with it.
Sorry Joanne. still, i'll never forget my first open mouth kiss...........................
I think its brilliant, its so nice from time to time to go back in time, makes me feel very happy to of been around in those days, although im only 42, younger ones today dont realise that we are far advanced than they are because we have come through what feels like a time zone and adapted the great changes in technology today.
Thanks again for this piece of the past. Well done. Philip.
classic british sci fi the best scripting in the world i dont care about those who say this series had bad special effects or costumes the stories were very well written and acted thats what counts.
@doctorw2 Agreed. If the budget had been increased 10 times this could have been the top rated show all over the world. A missed opportunity. Great characterisation and great theme tune still remain.
Awesome. Awesome theme tune.

If you want to hear where this theme music came from, listen to John Miles, Music (was my first love).

@doctorw2 Always think Jenna didn't die as Blake said, so a son of Blake follow up with Avon and Vila have survived the shoot out, would be great.
