  • know all the words , love it

  • Why do I feel like going off on a journey with Gandalf and some hobbits when I listen to this song?

  • Typical Yes...strong, beautiful, unique...such tight and awesome music. Hauntingly beautiful for sure! AND THOSE VOCAL HARMONIES...WOW to say tre least.

  • Give peace a chance.

  • my fav yes song

  • What outstanding whimsical yey thoughtful lyrics to go with an outstanding tune.

  • I lived in Hobbs, New Mexico, graduated in 1977, never even heard this song until I moved to Houston, Texas in 1981............fell in love with Yes and this song,

  • Bella canzone,e in particolare i primi 3 minuti e mezzo sono paradisiaci...

  • This song came on the radio today as I was getting out of high school. Despite the cold and rain, I rolled down my windows and turned up the volume to share it.

How cool it would be if some younger kid heard it, went home and looked it up, and got into Yes and all the wonder that's prog rock.

  • @AFiestOfFriends That would be a beautiful story! My dad used to sing Yes in the 70s and his band did a reunion in 2004 when I was in high school and they did Roundabout and ever since then I was hooked!

  • didit didit didit didit

  • yes i do see good people turn their heads each day so satisfied im on my way.

    yes this song is epic.

yes, the name of the band is YES

no, i will not type this again.

  • Who are the 7 jackasses that disliked this?

  • @Somnistatic they must ave been drunk and couldn't tell the difference.

  • @Somnistatic - Who are the 7 you ask? Only slightly less enlightened folks who haven't caught up to the rest of us. Be patient with our little brothers and sisters Somnistatic! Peace and Cheers to you!

  • I was on the front row of one of the Yessongs tour stops in 72 or 73--can't remember that far back anymore. I was struck by what great musicians they were--some of the best I've ever seen. I had seen one of Pink Floyd's Dark Side shows a few months before that and knew I had just seen the two best concernts ever performed.

  • @LAMBKILLER Saw them twice in 77 at Madison Square Garden. Complimentary tickets from someone who has the contract to move the band's equipment into MSG in New York City. I used to live in New Jersey so the dude who owned the contract had comp tickets to all the shows and they were close to the stage. I sat in 11th row middle section ochestra floor for one night then the other night I was even close at 9th row but right section ochestra floor. Owner of a Lone Heart Album tour.

  • @LAMBKILLER Sorry I meant the song is Owner of a Lonely Heart from the album tour

  • @MrHardrod2 I had to pay for my tickets, but it was well worth it. Yes put on a great show. Here in Kansas I'm sure we didn't get the wide variety of shows available to NYC people, but I saw a hell of a lot of great groups in my day.

  • @LAMBKILLER Definitely. Love these bands during that era. Saw Led Zep at the Garden as well. Robin Trower, Allman Bros Band, Jackson Browne. Almost went to see Genesis but my cousin went instead because she loves Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins. Also missed a chance to see the Stones. Wish I did see them during that time. They were still pretty strong that time.

  • @MrHardrod2 I'm definately jealous, my friend. Many of those bands were on my wish list and I eitther couldn't go (no $ or no ride--gotta drive a long ways sometimes in Kansas to get to some other place) when they came or they didn't come around my area. It was great to be young!

  • @LAMBKILLER Naw, tickets were not expensive back then and I worked during the summer to save up for concerts as well as delivered newspapers in the mornings before school. I usually get rides from other people who would be going or get a ride with someone who's parents drove them to the concert venue. Parents of kids were cool back then.

  • @Bwahahahahahakangina I started going to concerts with my older brother when I was about 15. He was so cool to me, and still is. I don't go to the big concerts anymore, but do get out to see a few good local groups. Check out Josh Vowel and the Rumble if you like blues.

  • @LAMBKILLER Oh yeah, I forgot. I also saw CSN&Y at the Garden.

  • Steve How he plays guitar, changes some of my view's. Fripp is no longer my nr 1 favor alone...

  • The first half of the song is downright profound.

  • Still a great song no matter how old u are

  • take a straighter stronger course to the corner of your life..

  • John Lennon's "Give peace a chance" can be heard in the background at 3:05.

  • love the vocals

  • Great great tune. Love it with all my heart.

  • Prog is the greatest genre in the history of memory. Musical and lyrical virtuosity herald its great glory. Viva la prog.

  • why can't people just enjoy good music and not ruin it for everyone else

  • love the vocals and organ!!

  • I remember I first heard this song when I was 12 and thought it was Crosby, Stills & Nash. Great song

  • @JesterHopperpot1

    Yes and CSN!! The best.

  • @JesterHopperpot1 Thats exactly why Im here! =) Thought the same thing. Crazy.

  • @JesterHopperpot1 the harmonies and his voice are so similiar, its very hard too tell

  • @JesterHopperpot1 Steve Howe knows how to play his Chet Atkins inspired licks

  • @JesterHopperpot1 so I'm not the only one that thought that!

  • Don't surround yourself with yourself

  • Don't surround yourself with yourself.

  • I've seen all good people turn their heads each day so satisfied I'm on my way.

  • Giants Under The Sun,plain and simple.

  • Great song, I dont know why your all crying like a bunch of little girls

  • Have Turntable. Will Listen.

  • @calvinsmmns FUCKIN A!!!

  • Respond to this video... fuckin a

  • THUMBS UP WHORE WANTS THUMBS UP

  • lang nicht merhr gehört, aber erinnert mich an meine Jugnedzeit. Einfach klasse Musik

  • This was meant to evolve into 80's crappy disco.A really overrated band, which slowly murdered progressive rock.

  • @skata666nai Really?!? You actually think they "planned" to devolve to the sad 80's version of YES? Do you have any concept of linear time?

  • @MrMonsterstiffy "Planned" ?I never said that !I just claim that some guys of the progressive rock movement weren't even "rock".They were faggots! And that is clearly represented in the sad 80's version of their bands!

And I mean genesis, yes,ELP.The milestones of progressive rock, that turned into pure shit!

Things were "meant" to evolve like that, because some guys were so soft!

  • @skata666nai You're one of those people who loves to troll around and spread anger, huh? That sucks, buddy. I hope that works out for ya'.

  • @TheObliviousPunk this is not trolling, this is my point of view. You can disagree by saying "that sucks" or anything else, but where is your opinion?Unless you have something to say, don't spoil people.

  • One of my fave songs by them, even more than Roundabout. On a classic rock journey this morning from a share on a friend's wall, love how sharing music gives me these little adventures into music I haven't heard in decades, reminds me again why I loved them so much long ago, and to start listening again.

  • ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE PEACE A CHANCE...... spoiler alert

  • @swizzelstick91

suck it up, people have a right to have an opinion. just like you and i have an opinion. and i would assume that your opinion is that you dont like the mainstream, and i would agree. and why focus on the negative? there are 509 likes man!

  • The mere fact that this has 6 dislikes it saddening. How in the hell does anyone dislike this song..

  • I still think it is incredible that Yes managed an almost 7 minute song about chess.

  • This takes me back a very long way.

I still have the album to this day.

Nothing to play it on though. Lol

  • So damn good. Always hits the spot, with a very dry martini:)

  • Holy shit, I always thought this was by rush when I heard it on the radio, finally found it. Thank you Yes

  • As a kid I loved this song, but today it means so mush more

  • I love how there is no flaming in this video. c:

  • Hemerage of the first rock degree. And you don't need medical coverage.

  • I love this song! Brings back the old days

  • This takes me right back to my childhood. Thanks for the memories guys.

  • I send this to people saying "keep ya head up"

  • Who are the 4 goofballs that didn't like this....

  • how can you not love this?

  • yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss yes ohhhhh yes!!!

  • queen ..eat your heart out

  • @makokan2000 why?

  • captured 4 the queen 2 use...

  • yes is hot

  • I always felt the Yes alignment with the fall of the Beatles was prescient.Seems they took up available office space. And rehired(Alan White)so there was no union layoffs in quality and concience. They even cover!

  • Love it...

  • steve's solo here is one of the best guitar solos ive ever heard.

  • Bruford's really unimpressive on this track, ain't he?

  • @TheBPSEnsemble i think close to the edge makes up for it

  • first song i ever got high to - fond memories

  • Believe it or not I hear this song quite often on my classic rock station 99 Rock WPLR.

  • i have several solo attempts of these members.Friends of Mr Cairo sticks out.Jon Anderson was so vocally present and although the instrumentals are stellar,Jon owns this group.i do however love rick wakeman.

  • Yes and Rush are some of my favorite bands of ALL TIME. Why is prog rock so awesome?

  • @Daemeon93 good question,i think it is aimed more at expression than profit.if the soul of the music is felt then the money follows which allows the artist more freedom(grocery money).they then go in paths that allow them to create.i bet john anderson is very well off and i enjoy his artsy contribution to my brain.

  • @Daemeon93 - Agreed! LOVE Yes AND Rush! OK, maybe more Rush than Yes :) Both AWESOME though!

  • @Daemeon93 because its not all a bunch of songs whining about some chick that left you or how wasted you got in the tourbus while getting grabs from some groupie skeeze. oh and its not death metal, if i wanna hear a guy scream like hes constipated while someone plays power chords ill send kiss a cheese basket

  • @c0untz3r01984 you forgot the umlat

    O )

  • @c0untz3r01984 you forgot the umlat

O ) wow way down in this white area

we could make art in admiration and build a white barked tree or several and wait until the grove with a pict would alctually happen and the story goes

  • Man, ISAGP, Yours Is No Disgrace, Starship Trooper, Clap, Perpetual Change, so many great tracks on "The Yes Album". Few albums are greater than this one.

  • @beatlemaniac1966 Its called Intrinsic art"

  • @beatlemaniac1966 I agree. Phil Collins used to see Yes at the Marquee every wednesday to get inspiration for Genesis. He always wanted Genesis to have musicianship like yes

  • Fringe brought me here

  • Never heard these guys til my dad took me to a concert last year and it was unbelievable

  • bobby fischers documentary brought me here

  • All i can say is CLASSIC.

  • you almost have to be a musician to appreciate it

  • give peace a chance

  • it makes the top 25 of all time (with deference to mozart)

  • 3 people have no idea what good music is.

  • @BOBOBOTT jw, where do you get Grace Slick out of any of this? I cant figure out where you could possibly think Grace Slick was singing in this song

  • progressive rock is the best rock ever

  • @ecfloyd1977 Prog Rock: for the more intelligent listeners, at least in my opinion

  • I know it may sounds impossible but at 3:35 there's a part even more epic than the first part.

  • @nitromeguy 3:35 It's the way the keyboard rings and then silence leaves you hanging for a fraction of a second (to let you catch your breath, no doubt) before the "All Good People" section pulls the rug out from under the dreamy mood set up by "You're Move".

  • @schmittelt No I was just talking about the song that totally changes to become even more cool.

  • WOOOOOOOOOO! Coming to Rock Band 3 7/26/11!!!!!

  • @TrialsHDCustoms People still play Rock Band?

  • @vecman86 Yea.....lol

  • It's magic

  • Why would ANYONE give this a "dislike?" All we are saying is give peace a chance... XD

  • teenage years come flooding back when hearing this song...

  • They were way ahead of their time. Even now this sounds new.

  • @mrsbowzr I know this song is vaguely about chess but its more than that.

  • 2:39 to 3:35 is the best part!

  • i will kill all the members of a band who tries to name itself 'thumbs up'...

  • Comment removed

  • BLAST FROM THE PAST !!! I FEEL 13 AGAIN !!!

  • There's a link to Mormonism in the related videos...

  • I'm 20 years old. This. Freakin. Rules. My dad and I joke about how well off I would of been growing up in this era. Don't I know it.

  • a very special song from a very special time in my life. brings tears to my eyes now.

  • they used this in the bobby fischer documentary "against the world" that aired last night on hbo. never realized the lyrics referenced chess.

  • My fave Yes song!

  • Two people have seen all bad people

  • i love this band there lead reminds me of the Great Geddy Lee from Rush :)

  • Unique sound - love 'em!

  • @ravenousktty shit.

  • 2 people said No

  • Thank you Yes, for teaching me how to play chess

  • i dance real slow with my girlfriend to this song

  • great god! i just now caught the "Give Peace a Chance" chorus during the end of the slow part. PURE GENIUS

  • Every time I heard this song on the radio, I tried to go to the website to find what band this was, and I could never find it. And I was too enthralled by the music to pay attention to the lyrics.

I've finally found this song. It's the love of my life :/. If I'd only known that this was the same band that sang the song "And You and I", my troubles wouldn't have been so great.

The ultimate quest was worth it :D

  • oh, come on, people. Don't argue, close your eyes and listen to the music.

da da da da da da da da da
