The meteor at 0:18 leaves a streak of dust that stays and drifts to the left... pretty cool. Unless it was just a cloud forming at the exact same time.
it looks like it was simulated and that your video was fake. I don't know really, I have never seen the real thing so i can't tell for myself for sure.....
This year it's new moon during the peak days, and man I was lucky - I looked up to the sky just 5 minutes ago and saw a huge meteor falling down for like 4 seconds, ending with an explosion. Amazing, but tomorrow it will be cloudy.
It's hard for me to see because the trees obscure it while it's rising, but I think that's Libra rising as the sun washes everything out - otherwise there are so many stars that I don't recognize the constellations!
no its just the sunrise coming through the trees....this timelapse is a speedy one which is why the orange light of sunrise is only there for a split second
hace unos años lei en una revista sobre dos lluvias de meteoritos en fechas distintas y lo comprobe vi 5 estrellas fugaces en poco tiempo pero se me olvido la fecha ¿si alguien lo sabe me lo podria decir por favor gracias
Psh jus makes me drool on the chances of this once a year meteor shower that hits anywhere on earth happens to land there near a camera and might not have been taken the chance to be further investigated ;[
Me and the wife returned home and went in the back garden, I laid back in a reclining chair and told her to lay on my and we both watched the sky wrapped in a blanket, saw maybe 15 really good trails and one really large fireball which travelled from North to South over our house and was still burning when it left our view over england, that was truly the best thing I have seen ever, looked just like from a science fiction film.
Just got home - couldn't resist nipping out for a bit to see if I could see anything. Live reasonably close to the countryside and seen the first one within 5mins of driving - stopped the car, blanket on the ground and just stared at the sky for ages - seen at least 10 between 12:15am and 12:45am. Pamela (Central Scotland) - hint - if you're looking up now, find the big dipper and look up and right of it - your eyes will cover a large area and when you see one you'll know where to see the rest!
you dont understand, i live in the country, no where near to city lights, i saw like 15 of them last night and i was out there for a very long time., no clouds, no "pollution" we dont have pollution in the air here????? lolllll
Did anyone else see the two large ones last night. I live around houston texas and these suckers were big and were side by side and streaked across the sky!
If I had known about it earlier (not yesterday...) I would've went to a more open area instead of looking through my bedroom window... but I did manage to see 2 really bright ones and like 7-10 dimmer ones (like really dim one). =) overall, I'm pretty satisfied, but I really was wishing to see a SHOWER. Oh well, I'll just wait for the Orionids to come in October and hope hope hope I'll see more.
damn i live in L.A and i didnt see anything all the stupid smog and city lights hopefully today though when i go to my dads house i will be able to see something not alot of light pollution where he lives.
@miniakh Thats what time lapse is.... haven't you seen those videos of the sun? Showing the sun rising and setting over the day, well they speed it up. Just sayin.
im sure you can.. but im in Los Angeles.. so no mater how far i go tonight.. the stupid city lights wit5h the moon light will make it reallyh hard to see them :(
There was ment to me some tonight but we obly saw 1 , thats really cool how you can see all those stars , In our city we can only see a few bright ones :/
thats beautiful video mate.. back in 2007 during this one, me and my dad where in the middle of a field. and saw this massive one together. real good moment we will remember it for ever thanks for the video
you need to go far away form the city, like to the mountains or some plains, preferably plains, no trees or mountains to obscure your view, take a mattress or a blanket and lie down, then watch and wait.
nice vid, i saw my 3rd or so meteor last night. I will do some observation when we pass the Leonides in november, hopefully i get to see a few more :) 5/5 btw
Observing through a telescope cuts your field of view down drastically - it's no wonder you haven't seen many. Meteors aren't distant enough to require the use of a telescope. You'd be better off just watching the whole sky instead of a very small portion of it.
you can see the meteors before and after todays date, todays date is only the BEST night to see it. the meteors will slowly taper off after the next day or two.
you can observe it next year but there's going to be a quarter moon next year for the perseids so its going to block out most of them from the moonlight..sorry!
Pretty cool. I remember one year there was more than that visible, but that was before my neighborhood was developed. I still see satellites like crazy though.
you are probably seeing some satellites, the meteors are only in one frame.
