He made a few million in LA and then went totally broke. With $50 he drove to Vegas and won. But he was a gambling addict, not a player, he'd win a lot with all kinds of games, used that to play high stakes poker. But he never saved anything, kept his money in the trunk of his car and in credit, then when nobody wanted to play poker against him, he'd have the casinos run high stakes craps for him, and he wasted his entire fortune on it till he was flat broke again.

The reason he got to 40 million is the same reason he lost it all.
You would never get to 40 million because at soe point when you had a few hundred K you would start living responsibly most likely. Archie just continued gambling ridiculously amounts until his lucky run ended, as I see it. If he was really that good at poker he could easily get rich again, but most likely he just had a sick run of luck.

i agree with you. But ive heard he is still very good at poker. in the wsop supposedly he 3rd or 4th in 7 card stud and toko home something like 200k so clearly the man still knows what hes doing!
