  • that is not a young bullfrog,it is an adult northern green frog, witch looks exactly like a young bullfrog, but the difference between them is 1. the bullfrog has a smooth back, the green frog has skin folds on it's back. and 2. the bullfrog has more of a rounded snout, the green frog has a more of a pointed snout.oh,and by the way,the northern green frog is not always green.

  • @craftymama74 no, its a bullfrog, I would know. I have 5 years of experience on frogs. And don't even make me have to tell you the features of each and how this is a bullfrog. I actually STILL have this frog. And guess what else? I also have a green frog the exact same size. Should I make a video comparing the two?

  • @bufothetoad1 Yes please do make a video comparing the two. I have never seen a bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana) with lateral folds like this. I would call that a green frog (Rana clamitans) based on what I see in this video. Also, is there any leaf litter in this tank for the wood frog to hide under? I believe they are mostly terrestrial after they metamorphose.

  • @listentokingfisher This old tank setup had land and water in it. It is good I still have this frog and a green frog the exact same size.

  • No wonder this is so popular! Great video - thank you for time for sharing.

  • i thought that rock was blood Silly Me

  • @CalvinTeeKai me too

  • My bullfrog ate a guppy (feeder) last month

  • i would move the bull frog from that wood frog. my baby bull frog ate my fire belly toad and survived

  • once the bullfrog grows up, youll have to separate it from the wood frog to avoid predation

  • @HuckleB680 I am well aware of that.

  • @bufothetoad1 I had my toad eat one of my Five Lined Skinks, two of my grey treefrogs, and a whole flock of baby toads.

  • So... What exactly does the description mean? Is it a transmission from outer space?

  • @DrSalvador123 well, there are extra tags in the description, but that is only if you click "show more"

  • Don't take advice from @bufothetoad1, hey have no idea what they are talking about, I mean look, he has a wood frg mixed with an american bullfrog, you CANNOT mix different species of amphibains!

  • you shouldnt mix species -_-

  • @FrogsforLifee2011 they seem pretty happy together, they are all the same size, all found in same type of area, same pond.

  • What the hell is that red stuff?

    Stomach???

  • @ClaudeLeung1985 what red stuff?

  • @bufothetoad1 That thing Frogs climb on

  • @ClaudeLeung1985 that is a rock they sit on

  • @bufothetoad1 ok just a red rock

I thought it is other thing...

  • @bufothetoad1 You cannot mix amphibains species like this!! Are you insane!? A wood frog is not a semi aquatic species of amphibain, they need soft substrate to burrow in! And an american bull frog cannot be fixed with a wood frog because they each produce toxins that will slowly kill each other! It's ignorant people like you that cause frogs pointless deaths because they don't do their research! And your set-up is terrible!!

  • @AmphibiansRMe do you know what a pond is? well, frogs live in them, all kinds.

  • @bufothetoad1 Do you know the difference between a terrestrial amphibian and a semi-aquatic amphibian is? The woodfrog (Rana sylvatica) is a terrestrial amphibain, meaning they DON'T live in ponds, they are like toads, they live on land, and soak in shallow bodies of water. The american bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana) on the other hand is a semi-aquatic species of amphibian that will spent equal time in water and on land. You cannot mix different species of amphibians!

  • @AmphibiansRMe Do you think I was born yesterday? I know all this stuff, that is why there is a rock in there, and most of the frogs have been let go, and the remaining few are in a way bigger and better setup than this.

  • @bufothetoad1 Also, all amphibains give off mild toxins, and when mixed together (especially in a small area with a small body of water) these will slowly over time, kill the other frog.

  • @bufothetoad1 So, what kind of vivarium do you keep them in? Or just that bucket with a rock and water (which is a HORRIBLE set-up)? Both the american bullfrog and the wood frog need land to live!

  • @AmphibiansRMe bucket and rock?!?! that is the worst, no I actually have a good sized tank for how small the frogs are, a light, good water, good vitamin dusted food like crickets and mealworms. they have plenty of land, I have 8 years experience on frogs, I think I'd know what lithobates sylvaticus and lithobates catesbeianus needs. Wow I usually never spell catesbeiana right.

  • @bufothetoad1 If you had so much experience, you wouldn't be mixing species of amphibains, then posting it to youtube, so a bunch of inexperienced herpers follow in your foot steps. You CANNOT safely mix amphibian species, if you know this, what the hell are you doing telling people you can!?

  • @AmphibiansRMe have you ever had one die by mixing? I haven't for 5 years, but if this is such a big problem then I will not mix them, or film them mixed, simple as that.

  • @bufothetoad1 He means the red stuff under the baby bull frog.

  • OM NOM NOM

  • illl feed your finger 2 it

  • The other frog is just the common Rana temporaria?

Or is it a different species?

    Just wondering.

  • @ZwolleForever no, rana sylvatica.

  • @bufothetoad1 Ah ok.

So you just caught them, and took care of them?

  • @ZwolleForever basicallly.

  • I'm at the weird part of youtube again.

  • @SammyCurb but you came here. and this is getting old.

    and this isnt even wierd...

    you are unoriginal...

    shut up. good bye.

  • Nice, how big to the regular bullfrog get in comparison to the African bullfrog?

I heard these can get to 8" which puts them at a similar size, although these are leggier.

  • she reminds me of my baby kerma, i miss her

  • IT'S MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nem got eaten frm a frog?

  • is it ok to mix species like this?

  • @ColdSideOfPillow136 as long as they are similar size. All of my 4 frogs species are all an inch.

  • @bufothetoad1 no issue with disease as long as they are similar size?

  • @ColdSideOfPillow136 if they have a disease then no. If they are disease free then yes, have to be similar size. My 4 different species live happily together with no problems. What do you think happens in ponds? All the frogs live in the pond.

  • @bufothetoad1 Do your research, it is NOT okay to mix amphibains!

  • green frog: (sees the fish) MY FISHY!! MINE!!!!!!

  • @pugandHieilover did you by chance read the title?

  • Wait, if that is a baby bull frog, then what is the other one ?

  • @CaptnMorshu an adult frog called a wood frog.

  • Whats it sitting on a terd?

  • thats crazy that it just ate it from your hand mine would never do that (I think, lol)

  • The other frog is just like "whatever".

  • @rolandixor lol

  • super cute awesome frog!

  • MORE BULLFROG VIDS!

  • @NPCwars I guess it is good I still have this bullfrog.

  • Neat bullfrog :)

  • @AwayLemonade thanks!

  • @44NasaGirl yup.

  • Oh mine also kinda grunts when I pick him up

  • @xXpurplenurple007Xx what state are you in?

  • and mine dident have the circles on the cheeks

  • oh and PEOPLE! that is 100% a bullfrog. Even look it up. It has the EXACT same charecteristics specificly the cirles atound its side of mouth. (spelling=horrible I know I dont take my time to type)

  • @xXpurplenurple007Xx um, all frogs have those circles. they are called tymphanic membranes and they are used for hearing. and yes it is a bullfrog. I have no idea why people think otherwise.

  • i found one of those frogs but it was COMPLETELY brown with faint black spots on its back legs. Same size and everything. It was sitting on a log and I caught it. I notice other frogs exactly like it but small but I dont think there baby ones. So far it eats crickets and nothing else. Also I live in WA U.S.A.. WHAT IS MY FROG?!

  • @xXpurplenurple007Xx probably a bullfrog maybe. could be a couple other things too. what state do you live in?

  • @ sleepdeprivation78 it's is so a baby bullfrog because there is no ridge on this frog. I've had many bullfrogs and many greenfrogs this is a bullfrog!

  • @Reptileherperx This guy's amateur.

  • @ bufothetoad my dad was getting mad because I had a green frog that would do it's mating call all day and night. And my bullfrog was just very loud haha. Plus the tank got dirty and I had a tetra fauna filter. So he just made me get rid of them. I gave them to my friend who is on YouTube. Islandassasins

  • @Reptileherperx ok I will go check him out!

  • That is NOT a baby bull frog! It is an adult Green Frog (notice the lime coloring on the upper lip) (and the dorsal skin folds on the latter) And the other frog is a wood frog

  • @sleepdeprivation78 I think I'd know if this is a bull frog or a green frog. I have 5 years experience on frogs, 8 on toads, of all people I think I'd know. Next time pay attention to the sides of a rana clamitans and notice the ridges it has.

  • @sleepdeprivation78 Yeah, I know a wood frog when I see one. And those are not folds, they are skin wrinkles. You can also tell it is a bullfrog due to the wide head which is not found in a green frog.

  • @bufothetoad1 Green Frog

  • @sleepdeprivation78 still a bullfrog. Nothing's changed.

  • send me a link to your reptile contest

  • Cool video! I feed these to my nine tiger salamanders every month, i buy them and throw one in the tank for each salamander. they are in seperate tanks. they love their fish. I also throw in a adut/ fuzzie for my 11 1/2 for my adult bullfrog each week. Also I will give him anything i can cathc outside.

  • @pokelegofan why would you feed these frogs to salamanders? that is horrible. please keep that to yourself next time. sorry if this offended you but that is horrible.

  • @bufothetoad1 No that was clearly a misundrstanding. I feed FEEDER FISH to the salamanders, noot frogs. When I said i feed these, i meant the fish. I would never feed a frog, too cruel and really bad for the salamanders. I have a toad and a wood frog, and I do not believe in feeding frogs, or any amphibian for that matter.

  • @pokelegofan Well thank goodness. I agree with you on the frogs COMPLETELY. fish is good. Sorry about my misunderstanding, I am really sorry about that.

  • @bufothetoad1 Thanks. I can clearly see where that could eaisly be misunderstood. I will have to work on my speech better, and great videos! keep up the good work!

  • @pokelegofan Thank you very much! Is English a second language for you?

  • @bufothetoad1 It is not, but I am swedish and moved to the U.S when I was very young, so sppeaking has been a difficult stratagy.

  • @pokelegofan what make you think that my bullfrog is a green frog?

  • @pokelegofan oooooooooooooopppppppppppsss!!!!!

  • @pokelegofan Sorry about that, I saw the it is not and I thought you were someone else. sorry about that!

  • @bufothetoad1 Oh ok. yeah sorry for the confusion. Who did you think i was? lol

  • @pokelegofan someone else who thinks this is a green frog.

  • @bufothetoad1 Oh ok. Looks like a young bullfrog to me

  • @pokelegofan It is.

  • looks just like my bullfrogs. how did you get her? is that a wood frog next to her?

  • @ColdSideOfPillow136 I found her in a drain. that is her friend the wood forg.

  • @Bufothetoad1

Cool video I've recently cuaght a baby frog and I don't know what it is

  • @bassmaster53197 make a video of it.

  • cool

  • I love ur frog lol I used to have a bullfrog too... But I got rid of it
