I don't think America intentially funds known psychopaths. People like Saddam were allies against Iran at a time Saddam had no record of humanitarian attrocities and agression against other nations. We supported Japan before they committed their attrocities in the 1930s. You're asking the wrong questions. The question you should be asking is, "how do we prevent another 9/11?"

Dear lord, do you know ANYTHING about Saddam? Even back in 1963 he was a brutal murderer. He murdered president qassem and in 1968 took over iraq. He then went on a purge of thousands of iraqs, and in 1976 executed dozens of iraqi parliament members. In 1988 he poison gassed 4 kurd villages yet still got new loans from Ronald Reagan in 1989. you need a history lesson.

Sorry safage, it is you who needs the history lesson. It is true that America turned a blind eye to most savage dictators. But Saddam was not a threat beyond his borders (except against Iran which was a favorable position for America's interest). After Saddam invaded Kuwait while attacking Saudi Arabia and Isreal, he became a danger. When 9/11 happened, it became clear that brutal dictators must not gain the capability to attack America. Saddam had to go.

First, savagesteve13, the US did not install Saddam into power. We supported him against Iran at a time Saddam has not yet killed thousands of Kurds and invaded Kuwait. Also, there is no scrap of evidence that the US installed Khadaffi into power either. You need more than my help. You need to get your facts straight.

That's not the point at issue. Some people we support turn out to be bad guys. But that doesn't make people like savagesteve13 right to falsify information to prove a point. Karzai of Afghanistan may turn out to be bad for all I know, but so far he's done a lot of good. The mistakes America has made in who they support does not give terrorists a pass to carry out intentional killing of innocents.

After Bush, I think it´s dangerous and irresponsable to judge candidates on their looks,the way they speak or even their age.I don´t think those are the most important issues riht now.Maybe if we weren´t so concerned with people´s image,as dictated by the media,we would live in a healthier society. Fair and balanced? It focused on a few candidates. It was apparent they had an agenda, and they squashed any true debate as evident with cutting of Ron Paul. Furthermore they asked the basic bs questions about abortion and only solicited canned responses.

You have a good point, but I was pointing at Wallace's insistance on getting answers out. They did not allow the actual 'debate' on foreign-policy blowback continue; which was unfortunate. I think that Paul had a lot more in common with Regan than any of the others that invoked his name.
