@extraMAYYO not without an adaptor, but it's an adaptor that doesn't require optics so you get the original image quality. Some Nikon G lenses require a more expensive adaptor that can adjust the aperture since those lenses don't have aperture rings, and obviously autofocus and VR/IS won't work. Adapting lenses isn't really worth it unless it's older manual focus stuff.
@Arkasai No it doesn't. The shutter closes before the mirror comes down. SO, it doesn't matter if there is vibration after the shutter has closed. The image has already been taken!
@MrRebelxs You're saying you've never heard of a delayed shutter? How about macro photography? Just throw a $5 macro tube on your camera with a fast prime and snap a three exposure burst on a tripod without mirror delay. No two images will be the same at 100% unless you use mirror delay. At that razor thin DOF you don't mess around or you lose the shot.
@notoncemoreagain Actually 7000D is not an entry level DSLR. It's higher than mid-range while lower than semi-pro. It has a build in focus motor on the camera body so it could use any lens that doesn't has AF motor with it.
love my 7d and think its a better cam its been making me good money and never once have i had a client say o wow i can see mirror shake in that pic lol.
@hvainer Canon 7D is a semi-pro range DSLR if I'm not mistaken while D7000 is considered a replacement for D90 which sits somewhere between mid-range and semi-pro level. So if you say you compare D7000 to 7D, 7D has a higher range. If you compare D7000 to 60D, then D7000 has the higher range. Each camera has their advantage and disadvantages, it's mainly depends on what you are looking for. Canon is famous for fast AF and Video while Nikon is famous for Low Light condition and color of picture.
@lawranced7000 I never shoot video, and I always shoot manual. I guess that's why I've never been a big Canon fan. I love shooting over-cast sky and manual focus. I love my D200. And the D7000 is Nikon's entry level SLR camera. Hence the 19 scene modes and SD card instead of CF. Also the lack of a motor in the body for more lens types. And if anyone even mentions megapixels, "You are a moron, and you don't deserve to talk".. I'll go ahead and save myself the time.
@jco87 actually both companies produce great AF systems and offer good low light performance. I like canon lenses and sensors but I just LOVE nikon camera bodies and their user interface. But after the 1DX and D4, I could go either way
I just picked up a 550d body for 406 pounds inc delivery. They were 800 pounds at first and are considered a baby 7D with afew features left out and plastic body.
The 7D has LESS mirror bounce. It's when the mirror LIFTS UP that matters. It makes NO difference AT ALL to the image quality if the mirror bounces on the way down, the image has already been captured!!! That's why there is a delay between mirror lock-up and shutter release on the 7D... it further reduces the effect of mirror shock. There's no mirror bounce on the way up on the 7D but you can clearly see the mirror on the D7000 bounce at least once, and the shutter opens as it's bouncing... BAD
@mdma111 Yeah, its really bad. I heard D7000s break up at some point due to this incredible vibration. :)) Nikon users die all the time because of this.
@mdma111 I'm sorry, but are you retarded? The shutter blades will only open to expose the image once the mirror has stopped moving, so how in any way would a bounce affect the image quality?
@dan007iel I'm sorry, but are YOU retarded. It's called "mirror shock"... it's why DSLRs have a mirror-lock up feature, mainly for use with long telephoto lenses. Google is your friend, look it up. Retard.
@mdma111 Your retarded, all it does it cause vibrations which may blur the image if you use a shit tripod. It doesn't compromise image quality if you use a stable surface for the camera.
@dan007iel You should really learn the difference between "your' and "you're" before you call somebody retarded. Regarding mirror shock... you're still wrong, I thought I told you to look it up. You should do that after you've looked up the difference between "your" and "you're". Retard.
@dan007iel even if mirror has stopped moving camera is still shaking. the delay between mirror lock-up and shutter release reduces the effect. ...at this shutter speed it (probably) affects image quality (only) if you use telephoto lenses.
but anyway...i don't think there is really a big diference.
more frames per second, doesnt make it a better camera.
I shoot canon, and use the 550d, which has been referred to as the "baby 7d", as it uses the same sensor. And uses the same focusing system.
And in the fps argument I always refer to my uncle doing sports photography back in the day with film. If my uncle can manage with about 1 frame a second. Then why the f**k do we need 10fps?!
the answer is, we don't! 10 fps doesnt take better photographs, it does make the photographer more lazy!
NIKON ROCKSS !! i used previously Canon....but then try 7000, surely this cam hve its own class. yet still canon n nikon are in diferent religion ... u chose what you have faith in most ;)
Nikon fans want to prove D7000 is the best...They just keep shouting Nikon ,Nikon, Nikon....But unfortunately EOS 7D is leagues ahead...sorry folks if it hurts...
bouncing mirror is irrelevant, its the curtain, aka shutter, that makes the difference, if it closes smoothly with less shake its gonna live longer. thats the only thing that can break in your dslr wich is expansive to replace. i have old SLRs from Pentax and russian Zenit's in all mirrors work great after 50 years but the curtain's on some get stuck or misfire.
Really sucks when you pay 900$ or higher for a nice camera only to have problems with it a few weeks after. Hopefully camera companies realize this and will correct and fix any problems if possible. Also we should be allowed to return the camera back to the store for our money back. Makes me want to do more research into these dslr's before deciding to buy one.
@krazy4baja pixel issues nahhhh auto focus isn't the best I'll agree, I have a D7000 and my friend has a 7D and his camera auto focuses beautifully, but in all honesty what seems like a bigger problem, a camera over heating or a camera that at times can't autofocus?
I always liked how in Cameras, unlike any other electronic equipment, there seems to be no consideration of the time the camera was released. The Canon 7D is 1 year older than the Nikon D7000. That's a full year of improvement, tech advances and other market factors that Nikon takes advantage of.
I still think it is impressive that the Nikon D7000 which was supposed to counter the 7D is still considered worse and It is now compared all over to the 60D which is a class lower if you look at it.
@hvainer D7000 is considered worse only by the people who have never used both 7D and D7000. Despite the number of Mpix, IQ of 7D is more comparable to the IQ of Nikon D80. Not to mention that 7D is overheating too fast in video mode which is not the case with D7000.
@Stormwatch153 I got 7D bro let me correct you that overheating issues has nothing to do with the body but the memory card you are using for you camera does. If you will use slow speed comfact flash card for 7D then it will overheat for writing data process but if you will use 233x = 35MB/s or above this memory card writing speed then you got no problem with overheating.
@kencinematography7D That is really funny, because D7000 never overheats even with the snail speed SD cards. Your explanation leads to another problem with the Canon itself - compression, and that is the IBP frame compression which Canon DOESN'T have but Nikon HAS. That's why the Canon files are more than double size of a Nikons with the same or lower quality in Canon's case.
@na6alnikeneme No, actually. Think about jumping off a one meter high platform and hitting the ground. Would you receive more or less damage if the ground allows you to bounce a little? What if it was concrete floor and you hit without bouncing? It's not a poor quality build, it's intended, considering the fact that rigid gears wear out faster.
That's funny, because I read a review saying that the mirror was not damped well, and that at slow shutter speeds, there was always some residual motion blur.
7D can do 8fps while D7000 6fps, I love my 7D.

Canon mirror bouncing at the bottom, and this can cause more loud noise. In this aspect Nikon can be better.

More fps will only allow a shabby photographer a greater chance at capturing the desired image.
A quality camera isn't just feature rich. It's solid, dependable, as well as fast.
If my camera had shutter slop like that, I'd trade it in or sell it on eBay.
