OMG! I love this song! It really takes me back to when I was a youngin'. I had this album and this IS my favorite song! I have been searching for it too.THANK U!
Hello I have been searching for this for years! Thank you so much for posting it.
Its amazingly inspirational. Those voices are sincere in a way that's rare today. Do you know how/whereI can purchase this song? After finding it here I went to iTunes Store, but they don't have it.
I grew up in the Zion Missionary Baptist Church in East Chicago, In. under the "Master Pastor" Dr. J.C. Wade, Jr. son of Dr. J.C. Wade, Sr., pastor of the Salem Baptist Church in Omaha, Neb. In this the trilogy of the Albums on the Savoy label, this was the first without the king of gospel Rev. James Cleveland. Rev. Armond Brown leading this song may be familiar to some, he later became co-founder of the Dallas-Fort Worth Mass choir...(The bass Player is sick on this song)
@CZLTV I think Tim McGhee was the bass player. Don't know what happened to him but he was phenomenal. Omaha had some of the baddest musicians, directors, songwriters and singers but never got props for it.......
Rowoches....If I hurt sumpin, it's all going to be your fault!! I love this song. It has been in my heart for years!!! I heard it once on the radio MANY years ago. I just happened to record it on cassette. Played it until the tape broke. Had not heard it since until just now. I knew noting about Glen Burleigh then. Just in recent years I learned of him . Now to hear that this song is a work of his genius.... I'm speachless. You and gospellin are going to cause me to have memory lane fit!!!
This is an amazing composition written by the late Glen Burleigh. Indeed a master craftsman. It is recorded by the equally amazing Salem Inspirational Choir of Omaha, Neb. under the direction of the late great Doretha Wade-Wilkerson. Thanks so much for this post. It has so inspired me.
