Missing some info here, which Tx2 is that? Because the older ones, had the glossy screen. Only the newer ones had the matte.

Anyways I dropped by to say don't buy this product. It's sweet until the screen breaks. I got mine on boxing day, and the screen will not respond on wednesday (16 days after purchase). Good thing I got a refund, but I don't want to deal with hp EVER AGAIN. Okay, rant it over, have a nice day =)

best tablet ever. it beats apple's iTampon. My old computer would take one hour to scan 800,000 files with norton. the tm2t can do 2.5 million files with norton in just 30 minutes. I highly recommend the i5 option.

The HP looks good, but I really wanted a ThinkPad x201t. I waited a long time for the price to come down.

FYI, FOLKS.

The price gap has shrinked recently with an approx 40% DISCOUNT FROM LENOVO. I ordered it today and paid only $200 more for the x201!! (w/o MultiTouch) If the x201t is your first choice, it's somewhat more affordable now.

the original is still better, you get a lot more for your money. Sure it gets hot and might burn your leg, couch or face off if you whack somebody with it, but at least when you pay the 1000 bucks for it you get what you paid for. Good processor and graphics. Plus its shiny, that metal finish is blah...and I hate the stupid plastic/rubber pads.

Your review of the product was the best one i could find. I watched almost all of the tm2 videos on youtube, and I have to say that yours was very well organized, informative, and downright helpful! I needed a replacement for my old tx2 because it was a lemon so best buy agreed to replace it and I just ordered the tm2-2150us and it will be here in a few days, due in no small part to your video! It's not like i would have gone with anything other than HP, but you told me what to expect. Thanks!

No, the tm2 does not get very hot. It was specifically made not to because its previous model, the tx2, overheated often.

As for the HD, I'm sorry, I have no idea.

If she requires an optical drive you may prefer the tx2, however the tm2 is superior in every other way. It runs cooler and quieter, has a far better build quality etc. Plus, you can buy an external optical drive for the tm2!

I am thinking of buying a tablet PC (A convertible, just like your machine) and I thought, is it annoying to lay your hand on the screen and sketch (doodle) with the pen? isn't the computer too high for your hand?

@dindush1 No it depends on how you adjust the angle I own a TX2 and when in its faced flat down its hard but I bought a stand for it so I can adjust it to a comftorble angle. No it all depends on you if you don't want to rest your hand on the screen get something of equal hight and rest your hand on it.

@simplychipper i think the fingerprint reader is someting totally different. The fingerprint reader is a mechanism that hp has in some of their computers that allows you to swipe your finger to log in your account, to protect from others using it. and your finger will work on the touch screen.

It already has the screen's hinge that sticks out, perfect for grip. It doesn't need to fake slimness by pushing its fat to the back.

If you look at a proper side shot of this laptop you'll see how weird it looks.

@LMLNet No the the TX2 1300 series is pretty good the 1000 and 1200 can't say the same they are slower since they have vista and get hot much quicker. The TX2 doesn't have much problems as the tx2000 the tx2000 has so many problems. The Tm2 does not have a disc drive. The TX2 does and with the tx2 if you do not want the disc drive you can simply turn it off pull on the switch on the bottom of it that lets you pull out the disc drive. But if you want a lil better performance go for the TM2.

If only this tablet didn't have that ugly pinkish color or that tumor-like bump underneath it...

The Elitebook 2740p looks a thousand times better than the tm2 but it's missing dedicated Radeon graphics.

I guess I'm going to have to wait for the next generation of HP convertible tablets. :(
